Ok not overly friendly but ok

This property is in a very good location but is very outdated. The furniture in the room was super old. There was no heating so we were pretty cold at night. Our bathroom was extremely small, basically taking a shower while sitting on the toilet. Stuff though was extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was simple but very nice. This place is within walking distance from everywhere !!! I might stay there again but definitely would take my own towels, blanket, pillow and warm pajamas.

A great stay a bit uphill which gives you a sense of peace and quiet. Wonderful mountain and lake views from my room. Some small touches (such as hangers in the extremely small bathroom) could make this already wonderful place even more wonderful! A nice garden to relax or to take a drink in the evening.

Breakfast was simple (bread, jam, cereals, and cookie plus coffee) but enough of what we needed. Accommodations were sufficient and affordable. We had two twins pushed together in a bunk room with a private bath. Nothing fancy but we did get the entire bunk room to ourselves for a great price. Location is near the bus and ferry stop, which is the best part. Hostel has cheap beer and good pizza. Our room had views of the lake! Be prepared for many many stairs if you’re walking. If driving, you can drive right up to the building.

Please note that this is a HOSTEL not a hotel! We arrived very late (2am) it was a bit difficult to find and isnt exactly clearly signposted, there is a small car park where we were able to park the car and we were given the code to get in and our keys were left out for us. The Hostel and the rooms are very simple but very clean and well kept (note there is no daily room clean) we stayed in a private room so had a little showeroom and sink on the outside. Toast, cereal, tea, coffee and fruit juice is provided for breakfast and you can either sit in the breakfast area or enjoy the nice garden and beautiful view. Wifi is available throughout most of the hostel but we were on the top floor so sometimes it wouldnt reach. The staff are very helpful and gave us lots of information on the activities they provide (cycling, italian lessons, cooking lessons) and gave us information on some of the walks we could do. We got the ferry over to Bellagio which only take 15 minutes. Great for the price but dont expect a hotel service.

Good Location in Menaggio, near city centre and lake como, nice view onto the lake. Dirty rooms with old furniture.
