Needed a place to stay in Avalon for a family wedding. Desert Sands was conveniently located within walking distance of the event.
It would be even nicer had the on-site restaurant was operational. Also the signage to the check-in location could have been clearer... no big deal, just a suggestion.

Exactly what you need, no frills, non aesthetic, the pool area was nice but there’s hardly anywhere to lounge in the immediate area if there are more than six people there. Nice large suite, however there was so much space in the living room area you’d think they put homier furniture in there, the couch was really uncomfortable and noisy to sit on. It’s absolutely not a reasonable piece of furniture to have in this space. The beds however were really comfortable and I slept great. Every staff person I encountered was extremely friendly and kind.

The proximity to the beach was a plus. Clean and well appointed. Indoor and outdoor pools were nice. With the nightly pricing being quite high, so were my expectations, which were pretty well met.

Room 219. Excellent..comfortable stay. Would absolutely stay in this room again. Have. Been coming for 8 years and this room by far exceeded my expectations. Warm and cozy, comfortable furniture.

The biggest thing was that we has 3 adults staying in the room & it has 2 queen beds & a pull out bed. The problem was. It was myself & my husband & My mother staying. She is 79 years old & like I normally do I slept with my husband, but could not get out of the bed, because the 2 queen beds are pushed up against the wall. WHY?? Everything else was nice, but if you can't get out of the bed, then is it really worth it. I ended up sleeping on the couch & not with my husband for our 1st vacation away in 4 years. Disappointed is a understatement. Feel like I should get some of my money back . :(
