Great location. Close to metros. Walking distance to restaurants and several beautiful and famous landmarks. Rooms were perfect for what we needed, a good rest. Very clean. I definitely would look to stay here again on my next visit. Thank you.

No reception, no service. The blanket is so dirty seems like never washed. The room is so small and there is no chair in the room. The toilet does not have enough space to sit down on it. The water of shower is so strong and it is easily to spread the water everywhere. When the hot water comes it is too hot, after that, it turns to very cold water. I felt cold each time when i took a shower, or got burned with the very hot water. In the midnight, a lot of noise came from outside, seems like somebody tried to use a key to open my door. The power was cut during my stay. I tried to call the reception, but he refused to pick up my phone. I did not know when i will get back the electricity. The hallway wss so dark without any window. I had to get into my room by walking a long dark hallway. My cell phone almost out of battery, I felt so scared at that time, no power no connection without cell phone. It was terrible experience. I will never recommend this place.

You get what you pay for. It's not a four-star hotel, it's a four-star value for money. Staff is accommodating. It's clean. I recommend you ask for a room away from the front windows, as there are two discos across the street which draw a loud crowd until the wee hours.

The room itself was good, but the street was so noisy until 6 am, right below my balcony there are a bunch of bars or clubs and I could barely sleep. But to make things worse at 9 am, someone in the building, maybe the owner or a guest, started making so much noise, cleaning something up, or doing some construction work, but it was insane. I hope there was a good reason for that noise, yet no one apologized when I left or explained anything. And to not mention there's a noisy bar below your room is criminal, I would've found another place. Plus the check out is at 11 am, it should be 12 as in most places

The property doesn’t have An elevators, the hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building, the air conditioning is terrible and on top of that it is controlled by management or owner and put on at 11 or 12 o’clock at night. Meanwhile, the weather was 90 degrees outside. Horrible experience.

The place had an excellent location, but no air condition inside the room, was really hot and they turn off the ac during the day to do laundry.

The heater is not working well and it was so cold at that time. It's hard to look for the receptionist. But overall, the location and price are just right for budget tours.

San Isidro is a great place to stay since you are in the centre and it's clean. The manager is nice. It's no luxury but I had a room with my own bathroom and the temperature inside was warm, even though it was freezing outside. I would definitely stay again next time I go to Madrid.

I was told i would have a private bathroom but I ended up having to share with the owners. The location is not quiet.

Central location, 2mn walk from Sol, 10mn from Plaza Mayor or Gran Via. Cozy room, small balcony with bay window to take in the street scene outside (Christmas decorations, ...). A very happy stay.

I’m not high maintenance so this was fine for me but there were a few things which could’ve been a deal breaker for some. There’s no elevator and the Hostal is on the 3rd level and for most of my stay the lights in the stairwell and hallway were not working so it was very dark. Other than that the staff was very nice and helpful. The location is excellent! Most sights I visited were about a 10 minute walk away. I didn’t have to use the metro cause it was that easy getting around on foot. Good place to stay if you’re on a budget.

My sister wanted to take a one hour nap, and the woman at the front desk said “shower ok, sleep in bed no”. I should have just said she was taking a massive dump in the room (this was at 2 pm) I’ve a private room for a reason, that reason being I like my space. If the woman the second day had been there there’d be no problem. Avoid if you have family checking in at a different hotel later... and there’s no free shuttle at all, and no blackout curtains
