Our apartment was clean and nice 👌 fully equipped. I would definitely stay there again. I also liked how everything outside are in close proximity to the property.

There was no hot water in the unit. No water coming out of the hot water spigot. Mildew on walls in the unit. I was unable to shower and no staff on site up to noon time to fix the problem.

Sandcastles is in a great location and is a good property if you are looking for something outside of the typical marble resort. The security staff and gate staff were wonderful and personable. The unit we stayed in was awful (some are privately owned and rented, some are owned and rented by the resort. I don't know which one ours was). The kitchen was terrible, very little in the way of cookware and some of the dishes were cracked and broken. There were no glasses available , just plastic that had seen better days. Not even a sharp knife or pair of scissors available. The twin beds only had a sheet, I had to use one of our towels to cover my kids. This was extra annoying as we only got a couple of towels to begin with, which were never replaced because the room was never cleaned. We requested bath mats but they never came.
This property has so much potential, it's too bad that our experience was in apartment D7.

No one knows what is going on. Check in was a nightmare. They didn’t have enough towels and wash clothes in the room.

The backdoor and windows were closed BUT NOT LOCKED! I didn't realize untill the next day that it was a sliding door. The apartment is on the ground floor. Anyone could have opened the door and window and enter the apartment while i was asleep on Friday night. That is unacceptable!

I stay at sandcastle in the pass and it was wonderful
The property is too old and dirty, mold in bathroom ceiling and dirt by the window. I stayed in A6 , really needs upgrade and redo.

They do not answer calls nor text messages. No housekeeping services at all. Mold on the bathroom ceiling and sink. Missing lightbulbs in every room. Front desk sends messages also withoutaresponse. I will never return.

This place has gone downhill. Should've listened to the transportation driver who shared horror stories from other guests who stayed here.

Needed toilet paper and was told manager would send someone. No one ever came. We had to get t paper from our family member who was staying there. Unacceptable.

When we arrived at Sandcastle Resort in the evening, we couldn’t see the property well as it was dark. However, in the morning when i opened the curtains, I realized we hadn’t gotten the ocean view room that we booked, instead, we had a view of the parking lot. I spoke with the young woman at the desk and was told she would have to contact the owner and let the owner know the situation and then call us back; she never called back and the owner never called. When we returned to the desk and asked again about our room (no one at the desk answered our calls), we were told the owner didn’t have any ocean view rooms available. I asked it another owner had an ocean view room and what could be done to remedy the situation; I was told there was nothing they could do. On the third day, we asked to have our room cleaned and the housekeeper (who was lovely) said she never received the message so the room wasn’t cleaned. The bottom line is: customer service was lacking, we didn’t get what we paid for and the cleanliness of the premises was less than desired so Expedia found another property for us. It was not the way we wanted to begin our stay in Jamaica. I would not stay at Sandcastle Resort in the future and I would not recommend It.

Instead, we were accommodated in two separated ones, even though the idea was having a flat with two rooms because we traveled with two teenagers. After complaining -Luvlee and Devon were very helpful- we were given two close by. One was nice and modern (B-23) but B-21 was nasty! Old, dark, without electricity in the socket were the toaster and microwave were plugged. The fridge door didn't close. The shower was so small that it was so difficult to bath, not to mention the mold! The only positive thing is the location of the flat, in downtown Ochi and the beautiful beach nearby.

It's in a central spot, on the beach, with a pool, but our king and "sofa bed" (a big air mattress) took up pretty much the entire room. Rooms are kinda dingy but serviceable. Staff was nice enough but didn't work super-hard to solve the various issues that cropped up. They probably get tired of trying to solve problems through the apartment owners.
