The onsite restaurant had excellent food. The spa was outstanding and the walk to the Golden Gate Bridge was so simple. Breathtaking views. A very restorative retreat and the staff treats you like royalty.
It would have been nice if the room had a microwave to warm up my leftovers from the restaurant.

Nice facilities and extra touches like complimentary glass of wine and pastries. The food in the restaurant was fabulous.
It was all very good, except no air conditioning in rooms.

The location was amazing, the room was beautiful, the area is wonderful with lots of terrific hiking, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast situation was not good -- the complimentary breakfast was only coffee and some okay pastries, which were sometimes not available because other people had taken them all and the staff didn't notice that they were out. (It took 15 minutes for new coffee to arrive.) Since that was only coffee and pastries, we tried making a reservation at the restaurant for breakfast, but when we arrived at the restaurant there were no other customers, and we sat down and waited for 10 minutes and no one came to check on us, so we ended up leaving. It was surprising given the high level of service the rest of the time.

I have nothing bad to say about this property, the service, the room, the location, the food and the staff. It was simply the best in every way. My wife and I have stayed all over the world at Ritz Carlton level locations and this place was simple fantastic. This may well be our new favorite place to go and stay. The location was beautiful. the room and grounds had so much character to them. A lot of history.
Parking was troublesome.

Could not have picked a better wedding/honeymoon destination. Staff was above and beyond. Room and view was amazing!

Beginning with a few chocolates in the room with a little chocolate that said happy birthday! It was extraordinary
Unripe fruit in my granola, fruit and yogurt bowl. That's such a disappointment from a hotel kitchen of their caliber

I loved the gluten free option of ricotta citrus pancakes. The coffee was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed all my meals at Farleys.
A reminder by the staff that there was no air conditioner in the room and that we could open windows (duh, our bad) I don't know what we were thinking! (or not)
I think the rooms were overpriced even taking in to account the setting.

Breakfast was poor. There was only a small selection of pastries behind the reception area and you had to wait in a line to get service.
The attitude of the restaurant & reception staff was extremely poor. We arrived at 16h30, after having notified the property we would arrive at 16h00, however the reception told us our room wasnt ready after 25 hours of travel from South Africa. Whilst they managed to accomodate us, I had to complain to get the service.
Furthermoe we were travelling with our kids, including a 5-month old baby, and the staff weren't prepared to wash our baby bottles because they said its a 'public restaurant.' Keeping in mind, we had no faciltiies to wash these bottles in our room, I had to beg the one waitress who sheepishly did us a favour and washed them,

Elegant and cosy. Good service, notably the Vallet team.
When foggy, you are in the cloud with no sight of 4th July fireworks or else.

Setting. Beautiful former military community in a little private valley at the base of the Golden Gate.
