Super clean. Great breakfast. Helpful friendly staff. Easy to find, convenient location. Capitano room with its own sitting room bright and spacious for week-long stay. Queen sized bed very comfortable. Lovely rooftop terrace and other sitting areas for variation. Those with mobility issues could stay on ground floor. Steep stairs lead to two upper floors. We would return without hesitation.

Limited space for storing clothes; could use a small chest of drawers. A second waste can in sitting area would be useful.

The place and people are amazing. During my trip, I not only felt welcome, but more as if I stayed at friends home without disrespect to personal boundaries. Joao and his team do everything to make you feel good and have good tips and stories for food, activities and sights. 10/10 recommend!

Exceptional and well renovated structure in the center of Olhão. Incredibly kind staff, the atmosphere in general amazing (you feel like at home)....it was overall a pleasure to stay here.

A very nice renovated old house hosts the GuestMar, we found a wonderful atmosphere, a very good breakfast, and friendly staff in the heart of Olhao. The building has a wonderful tiny terrace, few parkings and a small supermarket just in front of the entrance.

Despite the well renovated and nicely furnished rooms, ours was small, so I do recommend the smallest ones for two/three nights stays max. We would had appreciate a little bit more of space for luggages, but definitely a positive experience.

Joao and his team are simply wonderful. The GuestHouse is conveniently located in the centre of Olhao and from there you can walk to the ferries for the island and also to the train station. We loved the rich breakfast, the design of the building, the cozy roof top and all the special details of the service, from the sun umbrellas, towels and after sun cream offered to the guests, to the open kitchen where you can find something to eat and drink all day long. And the best thing has been the good talks with all the staff. They really do their best to help and support the guests as they were friends. Without doubts, GuestMar is the best guesthouse where we've ever been during our European trips.

A beautiful B&B located at walking distance of the river (which hosts numerous restaurants and gives you access to the ferry to the islands). Hosted by a very friendly crew, you’ll have a great time relaxing at this B&B!

The place is very well decorated and equipped! There is literally everything you need! The owners pay a great attention to detail and the are very friendly, always ready to help!

Would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Olhão. One of the most generous, friendly and welcoming places I have ever stayed at. The rooms and communal spaces in the house are considerately and beautifully furnished. There is a communal upstairs terrace with a lovely view of the city and a great place to tan or sit and read, we enjoyed having our morning iced coffee here. They provide free beach towels and beach umbrellas, perfect to use for a trip to one of the nearby islands. The breakfast was truly exceptional, it had over 10 types of fresh fruit cut up separately, fresh bread, croissants, homemade cake, yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, etc. A great range of options for every type of dietary requirements or preferences, plus 4 different types of nut milk to add to a cup of morning coffee. In addition, the gorgeously furnished kitchen has every appliance you could think of to cook or bake whatever your heart desires. They also leave the doors open in empty rooms and some nibbles in the kitchen throughout the day, which are testament to the host's endless hospitality. Overall an amazing place run by amazing people!

The room I chose was a little too small but was a great price. The proprietor told me the wifi seems to work quite well when it's not the summer for some reason - it was too slow for me to use properly in the evenings in particular.
