This house was a gorgeous setting, great yard, and canoeing was a very easy location to get the boats in and out of the lake. 1/3 of the rental company employees was very unfriendly and somehow condescending. Perhaps me interrupting her cigarette break was a major inconvenience. The other 2 I interacted with were very kind and hopefully will help tell the homeowner about the moldy basement smell.The basement is not usable to sleep in unless you have all the windows open for a whole day and the whole time overnight. It smells of mold and is humid even with their little dehumidifier trying to work. If my children stayed here, I would not want them sleeping in the trundle bedroom because of the horrible air quality. This house would be a phenomenal option if they installed central air to get the horrible moisture problem solved in the basement! We wouldn't have used the AC for temperature, but for humidity lowering I think it's the only hope for that humid basement. If you only have guests that can share the 4 beds upstairs, it is still a good option.

Our sixth year at Marrakech makes it obvious how pleased we are with it. Management company ( Best of Canaan) does a great job .Property is well maintained and clean. Its location is literally at the end of the road allowing much privacy. Large living area perfect for our family. Outside deck great for lunch and dinner gatherings. Kids enjoyed canoeing on lake and exploring wooded areas. We are already booked for next year.

We are a family of 2 Grandparents, myself and my husband, 3 grown Kids and 3 Grandkids and this house was Perfect for Us!! The location on the lake was easy access for the guys to fish! Even though it poured the snow on us!! It didn't stop them! LOL! And the hot tub was super nice to relax in, especially because it was so cold and snowy. Inside there was plenty to do too! We all enjoyed the pool table and fooseball table. And they're stocked with all kinds of games and puzzles. The kitchen was loaded with everything you could possibly need and there were tons of towels and extra blankets and pillows. We had the best family getaway here and we will definitely be booking this house again in the future!!! And I also want to add that the staff was super nice and knowledgeable!!!

This house is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook with. The great room is sunken so you have to step down which can be tricky if you are not use to that, mainly for older people. The location is wonderful the only thing I wish the owners would do is trim the branches on the pine trees so you can see the lake view better.

We visited with our family to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It was off season in April but we found plenty to do with hiking and art exploring. Saw an eagle, skunk and plenty of deer. The accommodations were outstanding - the best outfitted kitchen at any vacation rental we've visited. The rooms were very nice and we took advantage of the hot tub and swing.

This house was perfect for the Easter holiday with family we had dreamed. Some items were concerning for us. The bathroom had some items left in the shower from previous renters, used bars of soap. Sheets on one of the bed had tears in them. Also for the canoe on property that was supposed to be able to use no oar was anywhere to be located. Overall experience was great for a family get away to the mountains though.

Our anmual gals trip was great as always. A terrific place to unwind and forget all the daily hassles. This year the trees cooperated and gave us beautiful color to view from the deck and while enjoying the outdoor hot tub. We have already reservec our spot for next year and can't wait to visit.

There's plenty to do, board games, pool table, Foosball, fishing, etc. The canoes were a lot of fun, especially convenient with life vests and paddles being there too. We had a minor hot tub problem that was remedied just a few hours after calling management. The house was clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. Overall a great experience all around.

Dunlap family vacation
We travelled with our 2 daughters, their husbands, and our 6 grandchildren between the ages of 4 months-8 years old. The home had plenty of room for all of us to enjoy, the location with all the wildlife was great, and the house was very well stocked especially the kitchen. Was very nice to unplug and enjoy family time together in the beautiful Canaan Valley. Would highly recommend.

This is a beautiful property! Decor is first class; well stocked kitchen; ample and easy to access parking; lovely location along the river; walking trail access in the backyard. The gigantic sectional couch made for a wonderful gathering spot for our girls weekend! Highly recommend.

We've stayed here a few times now and it's about the best VRBO home we've stayed in. Well appointed kitchen, wonderful location, and great layout. There is access to lots of outside activities and it's secluded with great views of the late and the surrounding mountains.

My friends and I have been coming to Canaan for 30 years. We come from 7 states and it is the only time we all get together. We enjoy all the valley has to offer. Walks, hot tubbing, canoeing, leaf looking, bird watching and local shopping. We enjoy this house because of the location to trails and the lake. It is spacious enough that we aren't tripping over each over but you can still get away for total down time.

This our third stay here and definitely will be back. It is roomy, well equipped and has amazing views. We enjoyed hiking, canoeing, fishing and evenings by the campfire. The game room was a hit with the younger visitors. Our only glitch was running out of propane for the grill midway through cooking dinner and not having a spare in the garage as described. One was delivered the next am. My only suggestions would be to have a cleaner vacumn and a mop available. Also missed having the second mini frig in the basement as previously had.

The check in process was frustrating. The directions to check in went to my spamEmail so I had to call to get the details. There was a mean dog in the yard for hours growling at us every time we tried to go outside. I called the property manager and they did nothing to help so we lost a day. There were random beer bottles in the bedrooms but all in all the house was a perfect spot for our family. It had everything we needed to feel like we were at home. We loved the location and we would definitely come back again.
