Very accommodating, comfortable, cabin and design, great for any season, and close to many nature/outdoor spots and eateries (few minutes drive). The kids enjoyed the hot tub every evening while we enjoyed the cozy fireplace inside and watched the snow falling (winter storm-which we love!). It was like a winter wonderland! We needed plowed out and the realtor sent help right away. The area is one of our favorites. It’s Almost Heaven West Virginia-God’s Country.

Nice house, we enjoyed how convenient it was to both Davis and Canaan Valley. Had a nice time soaking in the hot tub after snowboarding. Highly recommend 4WD for the driveway in the winter

We immediately felt at home; the place was very cozy. They needed to update the glassware and pots, but otherwise, everything was good.

Quiet and peaceful setting for a weekend getaway. We loved the cabin!

We loved the place but seeing as it sleeps 8-10 and we had 6 adults it was difficult to have a living room that only sat 5 people. There were many small repairs to be made like windows that didn’t close or heat that didn’t seems to respond to controls, but overall we did enjoy our stay.

Great house, close to what the area has to offer.

The house was had not been cleaned before we showed up even though we arrived almost an hour after we said we would be there and an hour and a half after check in time. Someone did finally come to clean but left us having to stay somewhere else the first night. Once there, the place was nice and close to many activities.

Such a great place! We loved that we could bring our family pup! We also really enjoyed the hot tub and the great views of trees and privacy

This property was perfect for our girls weekend. Easy access to the nearby park lands, hiking and towns for strolling and getting ice cream.

Mirror lake and beach a nice added benefit. Staff welcoming and helpful.

Our family included 3 kids at 6, 3, and 2 years old respectively. The stairs were a bit of an issue for the 2-year-old, but we arranged a "baby gate" by pushing a recliner over to block access. The two bedrooms downstairs were fine. The lofted bedroom upstairs is great until everyone starts gathering in the kitchen below in the morning. Not for light sleepers. We didn't use the two twins on the highest floor, but the kids enjoyed going up there to play during the day. The kitchen had more than enough appliances/pans/etc. There were limited food supplies like salt & pepper. Plenty of soap/dishwashing tabs/detergent/etc for the weekend. We did not use the lake at all due to weather.

Lots of stairs(4 levels) but it offered privacy to all. Peaceful location and easy to get to area attractions. Well stocked kitchen and convenient laundry room. We saw a deer and fawn go by in the ravine, while relaxing in the hot tub.
We caught several fish at the pond where we check in.
We all had a good time.

One of the best cabins we have ever stayed in, right by the waters edge, our kids and dogs had such a blessed time! So close to Black water falls (maybe 8 mins if that) Dolly Sods was only a 12 min drive! It was perfect! Highly recommend:)

Great location, kitchen was nice enough, common areas are a little tight. Overall pleasant.

Location was perfect. It is equal time to get to skiing, Davis and Blackwater Falls. The house is comfortable, but there is some wear on exterior paint. The house had all the kitchen tools we needed and the bed was very comfortable (HUGE bonus points). Kids loved the loft space. It would be nice to have a motion sensor light for guests arriving in the dark. It was a bit challenging to navigate the entrance in a dark, snowy night. Not a big deal, but just something that would be nice.

We enjoyed the hot tub and hanging out by the fire. The location is convenient to lots of good hiking (we would have preferred cross country skiing but not enough snow).

The cabin is just as described. It is large enough for a family of 6-8 without feeling like you are tripping over each other. The area has plenty to do.

Rental owners quick to get most things resolved. Had limited towels in the beginning, requested more and got within 1 hour. Informed them of the broken kitchen bench which was never fixed. They replaced outside bulb quickly. There is no AC! Would have been nice to been pre-warned. Fans were there which helped but still warm. A lot of windows were either missing screens or just didn’t open. Kitchen well stocked, no Wi-Fi issues. Kids had a blast at Mirror Lake.

Our group consisted of my family of four (2 adults, 2 teens), my sister and her 6 year-old, and our mother. We had a lovely, relaxing long weekend just spending time together, playing games, visiting Davis, Thomas and Dolly Sods, cooking dinner, and enjoying the hot tub. This was the first time we’d all planned a trip like this, but we had such a nice time here that by the end we were planning our next trip.
Thanks for helping us create some wonderful family memories!

Excellent location for active family
The property is everything represented. Great location and nice layout for a family to relax and still have some space. My only negative comment is that there are a number of minor deferred maintenance issues: a number of the windows have cranks that are broken, which either do not allow them to be opened, or once opened do not allow them to be closed. The downstairs tiled bathroom has a few tiles that need repaired, and the wood decking on the porches has quite a bit of peeling paint and exposed wood.
None of which would keep me from renting again, but as this is not a “rustic” property, I expected a bit more quality of maintenance

Canaan Valley Getaway
My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The property was well represented in the listing. Secluded and yet convenient to the quaint towns and activities the area has to offer.
Cleanliness rating would have been 5 stars but there was a mouse in the bedroom closet. We understood that the house was in the woods so that wasn’t a major concern. However, there were droppings on the extra bedding in the closet dresser.
Other than that the house was well maintained.

Lovely cabin
Cabin situated close to beautiful Canaan Valley. The cabin was cozy, comfortable and exceptionally clean. All the conveniences of home. We would definitely stay here again!

Love the area
A very pleasant and relaxing stay at this beautiful cabin. The best horseback riding I've been on since Cabo, MX. Fishing at the pond was really nice. We loved the BBQ restaurant as well as the pizza restaurant. You have to try the garlic chips. Unique stores for shopping and you'll have to go over to Thomas for lots of great local art. The only thing that we really missed was not having a fire pit.

Great time in WV
The house was close to a lot of things but in a quiet and peaceful setting. Heads up as the house needs a lot of things looked after (windows, holes in the stairway walls, and the deck. Otherwise we loved

Dreamy time in Canaan Valley.....
Loved staying at this property, my family made amazing memories in our 4-day stay. My criticisms would be standard for rentals (lackluster kitchen utensils pots & pans -- supplement with your own, as we did). We felt well-taken-care-of by the property managers

Thanksgiving at the mountains.
We stayed in this property in Davis over the Thanksgiving break. Three adults and one teenager. The property comfortably fits 8 people, there was a room we didn’t even use. It was super clean and had all the amenities we would have needed. We brought extra blankets because we weren’t sure how the temperature would be in the house but it was quite warm. We never needed the extra blankets. The house has a tv in every room and they are new enough that you can plug into an hdmi cable and watch movies from your laptop. That is what we did. Being familiar with the area we knew cable couldn’t be the best although we had the basic channels and a few more than we expected. We got snowed in and we enjoyed the hot tub very much. It too was very clean and included two self chlorinators in it.
Our family has an array of allergies to dust, mold and other uncleanliness issues so a clean environment is a must. We had no allergy issues at the home at all.
We were a bit concerned about the phone signal based on a previous review but we didn’t have any problems making or receiving calls on our cells.
I had several questions before we went and I called the property management company who answered everything and gave me lots of extra information. They are super helpful and nice.
There is a grocery store at Davis about 4 miles from the home and the sky resort is very close too. We took several gorgeous scenic drives but we didn’t make it to the falls because that was our Friday plan when it snowed.
We will be back!!

dirty, damaged, terrible odor. Overall, run down
The property team was very nice, easy to deal with. The property was overall just run down, didn't seem clean, futon in living room covered in animal hair, terrible odor from garbage disposal, there was a dirty hand towel hanging in the upstairs bathroom. There were no rugs anywhere on the hard floors which was slippery. All the rugs were hanging outside on the deck. the dryer had a wad of laundry in it. The dishwasher was missing the entire controls panel cover. We left after the first night. Requested a refund, never heard back. Overall, again, just run down. Property needs much repair. I would not recommend and would not return. Disappointed we never heard back from the property team as they seemed genuinely concerned when we left early. This is the first VRBO property we've rented that we've had a problem with.

Amazing property!
Great house in the mountains, exactly as described in listing. Plenty of room in the house, open kitchen and living room area, beautiful views, very private, loved the hot tub. Perfect weekend get away in the fall. Close to state park with waterfall, cute town, enjoyed fishing at the rental property!

Centrally located. Close to town and various places to hike. We enjoyed our time here.

Enjoyed stayed
We enjoyed the stay and the area. There's lots of trails to hike, caves to see, the landscape is amazing for the area as well. We really appreciated the hot tub as well, it is very peaceful in the evening. The few drawbacks were: the TV has very minimal channels, most channels don't have a good connection. Also, the phone lines were down. That usually isn't a big deal, but there is no cell phone service anywhere near that we could find. Not being able to call in case something happened was concerning, especially with all the bear signs around. The internet is also very slow. Again, to some people that wouldn't be a big deal. And for us, it wasn't that much of a deal either. Just something to know. And be aware that there really is no cell service in the area. Be prepared to travel without a GPS. But overall, we enjoyed our stay!
