Superb character duplex in the European district
Geräumige Maisonette mit 2 Schlafzimmern im Erdgeschoss eines charmanten Hauses, typisch Brüssel, mit einem Garten an der Straßenseite und einem kleinen privaten Garten an der Rückseite des Hauses. Das Haus befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe des Europäischen Parlaments und des Naturkundemuseums.
Die Wohnung wurde gerade komplett renoviert und komfortabel eingerichtet.
Es befindet sich 200 Meter vom "trendigen" Platz in Luxemburg und 300 Meter vom Place Jourdan entfernt, wo es nachts viele Aktivitäten und Restaurants, Supermärkte und kleine Geschäfte gibt. Sehr wichtiger Kommunikationsknoten.
Möglichkeit der Hinzufügung eines zusätzlichen Schlafzimmers im Keller (typisch Brüssel) direkt neben der Wohnung, in dem bequem 2 weitere Personen Platz finden, mit Kabel-TV, separatem Einzel-WC und Doppelbett.

Das zusätzliche Zimmer ist optional (30 € / Nacht), aber für Gruppen von mehr als 7 Personen obligatorisch. Bei Ankunft in bar zu zahlen.

I had booked this a year in advance and asked about securing the third room for our party (mostly for the second bathroom). I was unclear about the layout and asked about that as well. After a year of periodic messaging and not receiving any response, I finally confirmed the third room right before our arrival. After all of that, the third room was locked upon our arrival therefore necessitating the use of the sofa bed (which there were no linens), and we did not have access to the extra bathroom. This was resolved by the next day. The layout should be clarified. This is a shared space. There are several floors with several rooms. This space is located inside the front door, and on that level, there is a quaint living room, nice kitchen, bedroom, and great outdoor space. From there, down a winding staircase, is a bedroom and bath / shower. The third room is through the front door and up the stairs. This room includes a bedroom / toilet room. It is a separate space. The washer and dryer are in the basement, which appeared to be a shared space. The dryer was stuffed with damp towels and there were piles of linens, that I was not sure if they were clean or not, when I was trying to locate linens for the sofa bed. I really liked the location, and overall, the apartment was nice. I did not feel that the communication was good and feel that the listing should be clearer in explaining the layout, especially if there are mobility issues for guests or families with young children.

The house is beautiful, spacious, airy and with high ceilings. Well equipped kitchen. Pleasant internal garden. There is the possibility of parking in the owner's garage. The location is next to the European Parliament. It is possible to walk to the historic center on foot, even though it is a bit far. The route is beautiful and interesting. The owner is attentive and helpful, and communication is quick and efficient. I highly recommend this rental!

Our family had a wonderful stay at this accommodations in Brussels. The home was very close to the parliament building and within walking distance of the palace. There were many restaurants and supermarkets also within walking distance. The home was well equipped to be able to make some dinners at home. Our host was very kind and helpful and she communicated with us throughout the process. We would highly recommend this home to anyone.

A lovely well equipped home from home, a very nice outdoor space in the back garden, around the corner from the EU headquarters and Luxembourg Sq where there are several restaurants also stop # 17 on the hop on hop off bus. would be happy to stay here again

The architecture and details in the appartement are amazing. Location at 5 min from train station Bruxelles Luxembourg. Kitchen well equiped. Dining room is large for a big group of 8 persons. Very clean and beds are comfortable.
There is no conditioning air and if you have high temperature in the summer, it may be very hot. The additional room has no possibility to open windows and may be very hot. However, we were lucky and temperature was correct. But it's an important point to consider during summer period.
Communication with host is amazing, quick and very helpful to have great time!

We had a wonderful stay here. We travelled with 8 people - 2 seniors, 4 adults, a teen and a child. It was a great location, within walking distance of many sites and restaurants, and transportation close by. There was a lovely garden out back too.
Washroom was on lower level, stairs to navigate. Something to consider with seniors.
Would definitely stay again!

Lovely flat. Caroline was very accommodating. I would recommend making it clear in postings that the only bathroom is in the basement. We would stay there again if we would return to Brussels.

This was a great house, and the extra room allowed us to stay in comfort while we explored Brussels! Proximity to the Natural History museum, public transit, and restaurants was ideal, and the kitchen was perfect for a meal in as well. Thank you!

Unfortunately, when we came to make up the sofa bed for our son about 10 minutes after we arrived, we noticed lots of what I thought were bed bug faeces. I immediately contacted the host to say that we wouldn't be staying as a result. The host sent her cleaner to investigate and we waited to show her the problem. The cleaner looked with us and stated that it wasn't bed bugs, it was the faeces of a mouse. This didn't change our decision to leave. I wasn't prepared to put my son to bed or to sleep myself on a bed with mouse faeces on the mattress.
We left about 20 minutes after we arrived so I can't comment on anything else about the property.
I asked the host to agree to a refund but she declined. Thankfully, vrbo investigated and refunded us based on our photos (which I don't seem to be able to upload here).
We were with 2 older relatives and 2 very young children. Leaving the property created inconvenience and additional cost since a last minute hotel was the only option at that point. We wouldn't have done that unless absolutely necessary.

We are a family of 4 from Canada. We stayed a few nights at Caroline’s house. Caroline met us and introduced to the house. It’s clean and roomy and located close to the city centre. You can walk easily everywhere.

We enjoy staying out of the main tourist areas, in a real neighborhood, and this was a great spot for us. We walked everywhere we went. The apartment is lovely, we found everything we needed. Caroline was very responsive and met us for check-in. She provided helpful tips on where to find groceries and the weekly market. As with any old building, there are some quirks, but that's part of the charm to us. The ceiling alone is worth a stay!

We had a very nice stay. The house is historic and full of charm and the location is great. You are a quick walk to the train station and it's easy to walk to several restaurants and small plazas. The Grand Place is about a 30ish minute walk that is really pleasant. Fabrice greeted us and was very informative when we arrived.
The only issue we had was when we were leaving. We had agreed upon leaving cash for the extra fees that were owed (extra bedroom, extra person) in a tray with the keys on the dining room table. The cash was left where we agreed, but when Fabrice arrived after back at the house the cash was gone. Instead of checking with other people first, he messaged me asking for us to send a PayPal payment even though we had promised that we left the cash. He continued to ask for a payment although we had clarified that we had already paid. This made me feel that we had done something wrong even though we had left the cash that was discussed. Eventually I received a message that his wife had already stopped by and taken the cash and it was his mistake.
To avoid a situation like this I would suggest making sure all payments are taken care of and accounted for before the end of the trip. This way you can avoid any confusion or accusations.

Proprietor was ver friendly and responsive. Property was nice but could use a few upgrades. Beds were not that comfortable, minor issues with parking, washing machine. Location was good, and the home has great character.

I stayed here with my parents and my 11 month old son. I chose this property for the washing machine, high chair and crib and I messaged a week in advance to confirm they did have a crib. I didn’t hear anything until a day before arrival when I got the check in info and they asked if I needed a crib to which I said yes. On arrival day Caroline was great at communicating and met us at the property. She asked if I needed the crib again and had to go find it in a storage room which smelt like mold and mildew. There were stains on the crib and I had to clean it myself. The cleanliness of sleeping spaces for all people should be checked before guests arrive. Especially for a baby. There was no high chair and unfortunately the washing machine was broken.
Upon bringing the concerns up to Caroline she was wonderful at getting everything resolved and I hope in the future these items can be checked in advance.
The location was great and we were able to walk everywhere with shops and restaurants nearby. The back patio area was nice to sit in at the end of the day.

The property was exactly as advertised. The living room was lovely, large front windows and beautiful detailed ceiling. The kitchen and bathroom updated. The hosts were very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed staying here. Fabulous location near museums and the EU Parliament. Fabrice and Caroline were wonderful hosts. We (meaning me) had an initial hang up with some booking details, and then we (again, meaning me) ran behind checking in as we were driving from Paris and making stops along the way. Through it all Fabrice and Caroline were very patient, understanding, and helped get everything straightened. My kids enjoyed their room and still say of the places we stayed in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, this was their favorite. I agree!

What an exceptional apartment! Everything about it was perfect. You are greeted with a very warm welcome. I would love to live in such an apartment at home. Beautiful interior, you literally step back into time. Highly recommend!!

The location was wonderful, but the listing was inaccurate and there was a terrible sewer smell the whole time we were there.
The listing clearly states 3 bedroom, and ever shows photos for it, so that's what we thought we were getting. Turns out, buried in the paragraphs of text it says the 3rd bedroom is optional and extra. Didn't find out until the night before check in.
Also, said we had to bring 3 Euros per person per night in cash at check it. Said it was in the listing...it was not. Had to get VRBO involved who said it was an error in their system that it isn't collecting the tax and we had to pay!
But the real issue was the sewer smell from the bathroom. We let the hosts know right away. They came by and put some liquid down the drains, but that didn't fix it. The next day we chatted with them again and they asked the smell was gone, we let them know it wasn't. Nothing else was done about it. They just told us to keep the bathroom door closed.
Part of the issue was the bedroom downstairs was right next to the bathroom. So the room stunk all the time of the sewer. It was not a pleasant smell.
The location was nice and quiet.

This was our second time staying at this property. Both times have been a delight. The hosts are so friendly. They have done a great job renovating and decorating this apartment. It's an authentic Brussels experience with modern comforts. We enjoyed the view of the European Parliament and our morning jog to the Cinquantennaire. We look forward to our next visit.

Apartment was beautiful and well appointed, with amazing ceilings. Recessed private patio in back was the highlight of the property. We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay and the host was excellent. Walkable beer and market snacks and late night pizza. Very convenient bus to city center.
Downsides: Laundry was not in-unit and while accessible was never available. Wifi was pretty much unusable. Slow speeds right next to router, and no connection if more than a meter away.
