From booking to leaving was flawless. Pam was wonderful in answering any questions day or night! The moment you walked into the cottage and saw the spectacular view nothing else mattered. The cottage was clean and inviting. Kitchen was adequately stocked and the grill outside was used twice and produced great meals! Every morning started with coffee on the deck and watching all the lobster boats checking their traps for the day. We hiked the nearby trails that were fun and challenging. Also, went into town for shopping and eating at the local restaurants.
Definitely would stay here again if given the opportunity.

Beautiful property. Entry into home with wheelchair and Walker was difficult but our fault not yours.

The property was just as described…clean, comfortable, the view was fantastic! The walk along the 2 mile trail/road was wonderful.

Highly recommend! Spotless and had everything we needed.

beautiful view
This property was clean and the bed was comfortable for those with back issues. Very important to know for some. The view was excellent and calming to listen to the water coming in and out against the rocks. Of course waiting for the lobstermen to come attend to their pots is always fun to watch for.
There is no down side to this property other than I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing young ones due to the drop off down to the water. Perfect for all others and hope to return next again year.

Amazing stay
The cottage was clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. The views were breathtaking! The area was ideal, close to town and on a quiet street. The cottage had everything we needed during our stay and the host was responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. We can’t wait to return to boothbay again and when we do we absolutely will stay at this cottage again!!

Oceanside retreat
Great cottage on the water and away from crowded Boothbay Harbor. Perfect for 2 but can accommodate 5 with second bedroom we did not use. Deck overlooking the water is private with plenty of room for lounging, grilling and eating at table. Indoor dining available as well. Large kitchen with all the usual appliances and supplies. However there is no dishwasher if that is a must but with COVID-19 we cooked and ate all our meals in the cottage and did not miss a dishwasher.

It's all about the view!
Driftwood Cottage is very comfortable, with everything you need to get through your stay. The furniture is like new and beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has all of the equipment you need - just stop at the grocery store in Boothbay and you may not want to leave. Once at the cottage you will spend most of your time enjoying the view. Driftwood is one of a few properties right on the coastline. No better way to experience Maine. As others have mentioned, there is a book with area recommendations. Pam is available but we didn't experience any problems; so we only texted her to let her know when we arrived and when we left.

Met High Expectations in Every Way!
Driftwood Cottage is the perfect Maine getaway. Quiet location, but close to everything Boothbay offers. Unbeatable views from the large deck. The modest outside appearance gives way to the stunning open waterfront vista from the main living/dining area. Good cross breezes throughout the cottage. Large, comfortable, well-decorated rooms. Very clean and fully stocked. Easy, welcoming communication with the owner/manager. No disappointments at all!

We hardly left the cottage all week!
Having been to the Boothbay area many times over the years, we were hoping mainly to relax rather than sightsee. You could hardly find a better view than from Driftwood Cottage. Where the Damariscotta River meets the Atlantic, open ocean to Starboard, Inner Heron Island dead ahead and Christmas Cove to Port, we never tired of the view even though we were stationary. Lots and lots of lobster and recreational boating activity to watch.
This property is perfect for a couple, or two couples if you don’t mind mind sharing the single bathroom (we do mind). I wouldn’t recommend it fo kids because there’s no place to safety play outside.
It’s about a15 minute drive to Boothbay Harbor Commercial Street, where parking can be a challenge. $8 to $25 to park off Commercial St - free parking a couple of blocks up the hill. We found the Lobster Wharf, the General Store and the Carriage House perfectly delightful for casual, if not fancy dining in East Boothbay, just up the road.
In summary, this is a very comfortable “get away from it all” cottage with a million dollar view.

Breathtaking view in a peaceful setting!!
The cottage view is something you will never forget. A spacious and private deck with all you need to relax and take in the breathtaking view. You can hear the sound of the waves crashing against the cliff just below the property. To the right and left are adjacent properties, but you are still quite private. You are unable to see the cottage to the right due to trees, and the one on the left is set back away from the water giving Driftwood Cottage a stand alone feel. The interior is very clean and comfortable with ample windows to give you the same perfect views from inside the cottage. Kitchen is well equipped with everything needed for cooking anything you desire. A nice, new gas grill on the deck is perfect for outdoor grilling. The local area offers all you need for your stay, from groceries, fresh local seafood, restaurants, shopping, sight seeing, water activities, just to name a few. The property owner, Pam, is very nice and helpful to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Pam's welcome booklet in the cottage contains a detailed listing of everything you need to make your vacation special. Driftwood Cottage is perfect in every way! You will not regret it!!!

Perfect!
I am so happy that I chose Driftwood Cottage to spend a week in Maine. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and a home away from home. The view speaks for itself as it was lovely to sit out there reading. or having a glass of wine. Also enjoyed staying in East Boothbay where it is not as touristy but still close enough to get to Boothbay or anywhere else you care to see. Recommend the botanical gardens! I will definitely be back to this awesome place and cottage.

Perfect location for a relaxing week
The driftwood cottage was the perfect location for my husband and I to spend a relaxing week. We have been to the Boothbay area several times but this was our first time staying in a rental cottage. Driftwood was a great house for us and had everything we needed. The view from the large deck is heavenly. Watching the sunrise, lobster boats and sail boats was an enjoyable part of each day. The cottage is very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and nice bathroom. We would stay here again for sure.

Immaculate, well-equipped and spacious cottage with beautiful view
We had already been impressed by the pictures of the cottage and the beautiful views online, but we were even more impressed and pleased to see it in person when we arrived. It was immaculate, was well-equipped with everything we could need, and had every amenity that made our stay comfortable and most enjoyable. It was very spacious, light and bright, and updated. We had wonderful sounds of waves crashing on the rocks, and the sun and moon sparkling on the water. Lobster boats were easily in view. We were in easy driving distance to Boothbay Harbor, grocery store, restaurants, and charming other scenic places that makes the Boothbay region so magical. The property is expertly managed and all detail has been paid attention to.

Great location looking out over the water - great view of Heron Island.
Cute cottage - perfect for the two of us. Great deck for morning coffee and watching the sunrise. Nice quiet road and close to town. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet getaway.

The cottage is lovely - immaculate, simply but beautifully decorated, light, airy. Perfect for two!
Pam was the perfect host. She was responsive and helpful, and her cottage was in outstanding condition. The furniture looks new and is quite comfortable. The view from the deck takes your breath away, and even in the rain, the large windows looking out over the river keep the cottage from seeming gloomy. The kitchen and bathroom have everything you need, and the beds are comfortable. My only suggestion would be a stacked washer/dryer combo, but there is a laundromat close by, and it was fine. The cottage’s location is ideal - the area is quiet, but you can be in the center of Boothbay Harbor in no time. We will be back!!

Charming with beautiful views! Driftwood had everything we needed. Comfortable rooms and fully equipped kitchen. Boothbay Town is so quaint and a great central location for going North to Acadia Park and South to Kennebunk and Hamptons. Loved it❤️

Great views, great location and very clean cottage.
Had an issue with the cable and wish the shower head was adjustable. Other than that we loved this cottage.

Charming, well-appointed cottage with an amazing view
When we first walked in to Driftwood Cottage, our first reaction was "wow!" Not only is it immaculate, bright, airy, and very tastefully decorated Maine Cottage style, but it definitely has a million dollar view!!! It is also well-equipped with all the kitchen essentials needed for a nice vacation away from home (pots, pans, plates, glasses, cooking and eating utensils, coffee maker, toaster, etc.) This is the second cottage we rented from Chill Vacation Rentals in East Boothbay; last year, we rented LobsterCliff Cottage (HomeAway Rental #3800167). Both cottages are on the same street, separated by a privately owned home, and both are equally as appealing!
During our week at the Driftwood Cottage, we experienced Mother Nature at her finest. She gave us sunshine, dense fog, and some dramatic storm surge courtesy of Tropical Storm Hermine. On those picture perfect Maine days, we enjoyed our morning coffee and our evening glass of wine on the deck at the umbrella table. Although we did do some exploring of the Boothbay area, the stunning views of the Damariscotta River and open ocean kept beckoning us back to the cottage. We whiled away much of our time watching the endless parade of power boats and sailboats that passed right in front of us. The sound of the crashing waves, the cool sea air, and the super comfy furniture (including the memory foam mattress) were quite conducive to afternoon napping and sound sleeping.
Highlights of our week were a return visit to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (we first discovered it on our visit to Maine last year, and we were so impressed that we became members); a daily two-lap walk around the peaceful trail savoring the lush flora and fauna, Glen Cove and of course, the river/ocean views; and our leisurely drive to see the Linekin Bay Resort. We also enjoyed a tasty lunch (and then went back for a delicious breakfast) at Harborside Tavern in Boothbay Harbor, and discovered the Watershed Tavern at Boothbay Craft Brewery (wonderful food and very friendly owners). Both are two of our new favorite places in the area. Another treat was a visit to the Seawicks Candle Company store on Wharf Street in Boothbay Harbor.
They say that the mark of a good vacation is not wanting to go back home. Although we were sad to leave this charming cottage and area, we did so relaxed and recharged. We're already looking forward to our next visit to East Boothbay and one of the Chill Vacation Rentals.

Excellent rental!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Driftwood. Million dollar views, comfortable crisp bedding, scenic walks along the trail and the immaculate condition of the cottage all added to our enjoyment. Loved the take out opportunities at the general store and the convenience of the location to the Botanical Gardens, Barrett Park and downtown Boothbay. Pam answered all questions immediately. Highly recommend!

Exactly as pictured. The view is what you paid for.
The cottage works beautifully. Kitchen is open to dining and living rooms with the constant view of the river/ocean. Lobster boats off the dock everyday but Sunday's. If you are only going for one week and don't need more than one bathroom it's terrific. Spacious and good traffic pattern. The deck is large with an umbrella table (4 chairs) plus 4 Adirondack chairs. Had a few gatherings there that works out great. If you like to walk there is a 2.2 miles loop that is terrific that we did at least once a day.
We stayed 4 weeks and no washer and dryer got to us. Laundromats are not our thing. $20 bucks and 2 hours per trip. That was our only gripe. Would love to own it and add the laundry.
