Beautiful little village. Very quirky property but we loved this house. So specious and artistic. Found a great cafe just a short walk away. So close to Alton towers too.

Interesting house very close to pubs and lovely walks.
Great communication with owner who was super helpful.

Beautiful property although interior might not be to everyone’s taste. Plenty of space and beautiful garden. Great location. Host was very helpful and friendly and easy to contact and communicate with

Booked for my Son's wedding in Tissington after my original booking on another property had been cancelled at the last minute. Gabrielle was very helpful and provide a lot of useful information about the local area. The check in process was seamless and the property was as per the pictures. There was plenty of room for our party of 11 and no issues encountered during our stay.

This was a lovely, comfortable property in a beautiful little village. My family stayed here over Christmas and it was very welcoming to arrive to find a fully decorated tree. There was plenty of space for the 11 of us plus dog and it was lovely and warm. We enjoyed exploring the local area, although regrettably didn’t get a chance to try out the local pubs.

We had a fabulous few days in this wonderful, quirky house. We loved the house & its location and plan on returning

My daughter was over from Australia with her boyfriend and wanted to stay somewhere with her brothers and nephews. This was the ideal place. Plenty of space for the children to play. The house was interesting and quirky, with lots of character. We had 2 dogs with us and the garden was safe for them. The village of Alton was quaint. The pub's were friendly, especially the White Hart which is a community owned pub.
There are many walks around the village.
And the castle is interesting.

My family and I had a wonderful stay.It was an unusual but truly amazing experience, we all really felt at home very quickly and it gave everyone enough room for personal space but provided great family space - so close to Alton towers, I’d love to return to this home ❤️

What a fantastically quirky property.. the area was lovely with great pubs and restaurants around. The house itself was like going on world tour with the decor drawing inspiration from a number of various cultures.. this stay was enjoyed by all.. owners were very helpful. Couldn’t recommend it enough.. thank you

Lovely little village, with really nice cottages for the 8 of us. Great location, close to Alton Towers to take the kids. A nice garden at the back to sit out in and loved the conservatory in the evening to play some game. The pub literally across the road did great food. Also a number of nice places to eat close by. Had a lovely walk round Dimmingsdale which has a great cafe.

Good house for 5 old friends meeting up for the weekend. Lovely village, nice walks and two lovely churches where we were made very welcome as visitors. Good meals at the Bull’s Head across the road and Sunday lunch at the Bridge was tasty and good value. House is comfy and, as the description and pictures show, it is very old and quirky. As such some of the downstairs rooms are a bit dark but we spent most of the time chatting in the sunny conservatory. We had 4 cars and all parked easily in road outside. Didn’t need our cars again until we left. Good property and location for our needs. Thank you.

Lovely property for a short stay
Very unique property and perfect for our family of 10 for a 3 night stay - very comfortable beds and loads of room for everyone. The younger children loved the toys and games available too. Would definitely recommend if visiting Alton Towers too.

Huge quirky house
Had a lovely time in a huge old house, kids loved it exploring all the different rooms. The place Alton itself is beautiful, with lovely old pubs and friendly staff. Had amazing food at both the Bulls Head across the road and a couple of doors up The White Hart that does Thai Food, I have allergies to nuts and seeds and never had Thai food before , the chef made everything from scratch it was amazing, one of the best meals I have ever had. The bedding is all spotless, plenty of pots and pans, the house was amazing, the garden very muddy as we had torrential rain all weekend, however it’s beautiful. We had a late leaving time which was a massive help with loads of kids. Had a great time would definitely go again, kids loved and so did the dogs. The host was great from start to finish. Thanks Abbie.

Family Break in Quirky House
Very quirky house, well stocked for families, lots of toys. Bad weather prevented us going too far.
Only couple of items to list - definitely not enough glassware for full house & bedrooms swelteringly hot with non-controllable radiators. Communication with owner on numerous occasions

Charming, well located and clean
Our group, 4 adults, 1 child and 1 dog, unanimously adored this place. Very spacious and well tended to- it had quirky/charming decor that served as great conversation pieces. It was nicely laid out for two different families. The nearby pubs were fantastic. Hosting was great. Highly recommend!

Quirky property in a great location
Loads of space is just what we needed for our extended family including teenagers for a short break celebrating a milestone birthday. Excellent location with a great pub right across the road and another pub serving Thai food a couple of doors away. Communication with Gabbi was first class and very quick to respond to any queries.

From initial booking, Gabbi was great. Upon arrival, everything ran smooth and the house was amazing, it was like an Aladdins cave, quirky and unique charm. We absolutely loved it.
Lots of space for us all, very functional and great to entertain the family. Stunning location with beautiful views of Alton Castle. The Castle itself was closed to visitors but well worth a wander around to appreciate the scenery surrounding it.
The street itself was lovely, with great pubs (Bulls Head do lovely food) and are literally across the road! So after a long day out getting cosy in the country pub with a lovely glass of wine was fantastic.
Alton towers was a 5 minute drive, which again is ideal after a long day.
We also booked tickets for afternoon tea on the steam train from Froghall Station, which was lovely.
Overall we had such a wonderful time. The village and the house felt like a step back in time, the children loved it and if the kids are happy then we can enjoy a beer in peace.

Family get together
Thank you Gabbi for the loan of your lovely home for a week. It was great to return home to Staffordshire to have my family with me to celebrate my special birthday. Your home has bags of character, loads of seating to gather round and the beds were very comfortable. All my visitors were impressed with the house. Thank you for your texts to make sure we were comfortable. A wonderful stay. Many thanks xx

Wonderful weekend
Gabbi’s home provided us with a perfect venue for my husbands 70th birthday. There was everything we needed and more for 8 adults and one child for being able to cook , eat, and celebrate together. Grown up kids had a hilarious time playing with one of the numerous games - bopit!!! and little one loved all the building toys. Great location too with a great community pub.

Great spot for Alton Towers
Had a lovely time, house was huge, right in the middle of all you could need (shop, pubs, Alton Towers), marked down on the cleanliness as it could do with a good dust and hoover but all the essentials such as kitchen, bathrooms and beddings were spotless!! Will be back for sure!!

A quirky treasure.
My family visited so we could all be together to my parents’ 70th birthdays and we could not have been happier. The house was simply wonderful - unusual and beautiful, everything you need, but so different that it wasn’t just like being at home. There was something for everyone, from the multitude of toys, the music room and the four poster bed to our favourite room of the house, the conservatory. Gabbi was so helpful - including recommendations for fantastic places to eat and the rise-at-home chocolate croissants - and the area was simply beautiful. We arrived home yesterday and I haven’t stopped raving about it.

The communication before we arrived and while we was there was fantastic, I asked a few questions before our stay and The response was rapid. The house is lovely, definitely quirky and loads of toys for the kids to play with, I honestly can’t recommend this house enough, you made our stay in Alton a pleasure thank you.

Lovely house
We had a great time staying at the house which surpassed my expectations. The bedrooms are all lovely, the kitchen is great and the garden is gorgeous. There are some lovely walks and a pub over the road, just up the street and the Alton Bridge just down the hill. The food there is excellent. We will definitely stay again when we’re in the area.

Great location for Alton Towers, easy parking on doorstep and pub right across the street. Ideal for large family groups like ours! All bed linen, toilets and floors spotlessly clean.
