As a location to visit the Tank Museum it is excellent.

Very close (7 minutes in car) to Bovington Tank Museum. It is really a golf club with a few rooms for guests. So quiet and not a lot of tourists or families. The rooms are good quality, with typical basic facilities. Ok for couples, unlikely to be useful for a family. Plenty of parking near the room.

Since it is a golf club there is a members area (like a large bar) with lots of table seating. It would be fine if you are in a group. Not really for the individual to sit alone in. The food is limited and average. Not really a Restruant, more a bar with 3 meal options. If you like Golf you would be at home.

Would Stay again .. breakfast was 100%

The rooms are very clean and modern with great beds

It joins the golf range and they started collecting the balls at 7.10am which woke us up

Excellent accommodation, would stay here again.

The staff were all very friendly, breakfast there was something for everyone. Rooms were a nice size and very comfortable. It was handy for the local attractions of Monkey World and the Tank museum. Although primarily for golfers and bowlers it was ideal for other leisure pursuits.

Very good

Lovely location - you need a car. Twin room was spacious and clean. Bathroom tidy but dated. Lovely hearty breakfast with lots of choice and good quality. Will stay again and recommend to others.

Very good place, very nice staff; great food. for breakfast

The location is a golf course so understanably a bit out of the way but very well kept The breakfast was excellent and the staff very well organised and courteous I think it made the other guests happy as people were happy to say hi.

A shuttle service would have been a nice touch.

The breakfast and the cake. Nice setting and the wood in the rooms was lovely. The mugs were nice (ikea) and the lighting was pretty good.

The awful mechanical ventilation noise that was intermittent (not the bathroom fan). Meant I needed earpluga The window would not close properly. The bathroom felt a bit like a changing room. The towels were small.

Breakfast was good, the shower in the room was brilliant! The size of the room was very generous.

I arrived in the dark and it was a little difficult to find the room as the signage was not very helpful.

Relaxing stopover in good location

Comfy, well equipped bedroom. Bathroom a reasonable size with a good shower. Good choice at breakfast. Hotel in quiet location surrounded by countryside.

The surroundings were nice, it was quiet and the golf course looked promising. The breakfast was very nice and dinner was good. The place had a pool table and darts that my son liked. The place was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.

It probably was a very posh place in the 1980 and needs a makeover. It is very difficult to get to without a car and there are few taxies in the area.

Fabulous stay!

The room was lovely. It was large and spotlessly clean. The car parking facilities were great. The breakfast was amazing.

I would agree with some of the reviews which mention they you can hear people talking in the next room on occasion.

Disappointing

Location

Unfriendly member of staff at check-in (was quite impatient with deaf couple in front of us too). Then greeted us with 'you're late, was going to give you 10 more mins begore she rang us'!) - it was @ 6.30pm and we had driven from Surrey to Dorset (we were only @ 30mins after we thought we'd arrive!) We couldn't sleep from 3am as hotel switched heating off and we were freezing cold in the room (no thermadyat to override). Not ground floor as per booking confirmation and no coffee machine either as per confirmationr, just a kettle. 15mins before check-out a member of staff tried to enter our roo.m while we were still undressed! They knocked but barely gave us 3 seconds to get to the door before trying to enter. We didn't bother with the continental breakfast as we couldn't wait to leave and sadly after this experience will not be returning.

Makes me want to play golf there☺

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent.

There is little or no noise insulation in the rooms, I could hear people talking in the next room even though they were just speaking at a normal level. It made me feel guilty in the mornig as I got up early, I felt the need to avoid making any phone calls or watching the newsmon the telly.

Not 4 star rated accommodation more accurate 2/3 star.

coffee machine in room free Wi-Fi although expected

rooms are massively outdated, underwhelming and overall not 4 star quality. the bathroom looks like some sort of utility room. mattress uncomfortable and lumpy. breakfast late even at the late opening time of 0730 and was mediocre at best. the ironing board and iron sum up this accommodation as barely functional. would not stay here again

Would stay there again Good value for money

It was in a central location for the places I wanted to visit Adequate car parking. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Good breakfast. Large dining area with good views over the golf course. Away from busy roads. Tranquil location but easy access to the tourist venues in the area

Some people may pick fault with the limited dinner menu. But there were both Vegan and normal options on the menu. Adequate for my needs on a 2 night stay but maybe would not suit everyone on a longer stay.

Breakfast was very basic. I would have expected some fresh fruits, at least some cheese, normally with continental breakfast there are cakes, danish and croissants. I am not a heavy breakfast eater- but noticed these things missing

location- middle of no-where but that is my opinion, it is excellent for those who want golfing weekends for those who enjoy bowling. not very many places to eat nearby and the hotel vegetarian menu was very limited
