Fascinating apartment with large rooms where the ancient furniture is combined with the artwork of the owner, a well known Italian painter. The atmosphere is elegant and aristocratic, with a twist of unique and unconventional style.

This place does not disappoint, the pictures on the app are accurate, but do not give it full justice. Which is lovely, because it is even more awesome when you open up the door and enter. The provisions are amazing, from the pantry/kitchen to the bathrooms. It’s like a Arthouse theatre and museum all in one. Thank you for opening up your home to allow us to experience your love for art, history and culture. We were totally blown away. Best experience, such in keeping with Venice as a whole.

We really enjoyed our stay at this unique property. So much art to enjoy and appreciate in this spacious apartment fully equipped with anything you would need. Everything was within walking distance and a small market was literally just across the street. Great gem in Venice!

By far the absolute best rental I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We felt like royalty.

There aren’t enough words to express how FANTASTIC this place is! it is beautiful and has incredible artwork throughout - it’s like staying in a museum! It is conveniently located - quiet - and away from the touristy San Marco area! Things are less expensive in San Polo! Husband, wife and 3 college age kids were blown away by this place - and the generosity of the owner - with a bottle of Prosecco and 2 prints of the owner’s artwork!!
Very well appointed - with places for your things, usable tables and surfaces plus abundant hooks and towel racks.
There wasn’t anything we needed that they didn’t have - including kitchen utensils, wine opener, plenty of glassware and dishes, even coffee pods, sugar and more.
I wish we would have discovered the AC sooner - but the fans in each room were great to have!
They even stocked items that other properties don’t - besides the coffee pods there was dish soap, laundry soap, body wash, shampoo, and loads of washcloths, extra blankets and pillows.
Truly the best VRBO property we have ever stayed in.

Facilities such as supermarket around the corner. Everything we needed at the lovely historic home. Walking distance to all tourist places.

Wonderful, art-filled apartment! Plenty of room for four friends to spread out. Venice is a walking city and this apartment is easy to find and close to everything
Would definitely recommend and stay again if we find ourselves back in Venice

We came back to this extraordinary apartment where we stayed 5 years ago with great anticipation. Staying here is like staying at a distant and grand relative’s historic home….the apartment is full of eclectic and historic decor as befits an apartmente nobile in Venezia but is also stocked with many curiosities and diverse personal belongings, including art both ancient and modern, produced by the owner. This is an apartment for someone who seeks to immerse themselves in the romantic and extravagant history of Venice- if you need streamlined, sterile guest apartments, please move on! We had excellent communication and support from Christiana beforehand and Federica on site. It is ideally located in a quiet courtyard next to a canal in a fantastic neighborhood near the Frari. Bathrooms all have great water pressure, the kitchen is well equipped and functional and the space is ancient and enveloping. Enjoy this rare gem of an older time of Venice’s beauty. Ci vediamo, Christiana and Federica!

The apartment is amazing and in a great location away from the crowded areas of Venice but located canal front and minutes walk from a supermarket and great restaurant. Got water taxi from airrport to apartment. Highly recommend.

How could you not love staying @ Capriccio Veneziano, this wonderfully Venetian property? The rental is carefully curated by the Countess, a renowned Italian artist from a noble family, with an eclectic mix of art and furniture reflecting her personality, and oddly enough, the personality of the city of Venice. Perhaps they are one and the same! Every minute you will find something new and wonderful to gaze at.
From the glamorous living room to the unique dining room and the palatial bedrooms you’ll feel like you’re living in a movie. Bedrooms are comfortable and feature plenty of space to spread out. High quality mattresses and bed linens will ensure you get a good night’s sleep.
San Polo is a great location to base your trip. Market is 20 paces away. Rialto bridge is a ten minute stroll. Water taxi can pick you up right from the courtyard.
As a retired travel professional with over 35 years in the business I can honestly say I’ve never had an experience like staying in this lovely property. It truly is a one-of-a-king gem in a one-of-a-kind city. For a perfect Venetian vacation you must stay here.
Than you to the Countess, Christiana, and Frederica for making everything so memorable. This truly was a stay to remember and we will cherish the memories of our stay here.

Best of Both Worlds
This apartment is clean, comfortable, quiet, and like living in an art gallery. There’s a great little supermarket around the corner and nice restaurants around. It’s in a local area with a tourist flavour - the best of both worlds.

The apartment was a joy and felt very Venetian!
Five girlfriends celebrating my 60th birthday in a truly beautiful setting. We even bought a bit of velvet to dress up in and have a meal in the dining room on the last night. You will want to take lots of photos.
The apartment is also very comfortable and near to restaurants and a supermarket. Federica was there to welcome us and gave us lots of useful information and suggestions of places to eat, especially as quite a few of us are vegetarian, so that helped a lot.
I would highly recommend the apartment and hope to go there again, especially when the Biennale is on. October weather was perfect for walking about and it was quite quiet as well, but we may just have been lucky.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this art lovers dream . . . having stayed in many flats abroad the San Polo flat surpassed them all. I cannot think of a single item that was not provided for a comfortable and considerate stay.
Cooking was a breeze on 5 burner gas range, 2 refrigerators and a family friendly table within reach.
Beds were very comfortable with extra pillows and blankets provided in the armoires.
Three and a half baths accommodated six of us easily.
The area is safe and an easy walk to the water bus.
Lastly, the information provided prior to our arrival was impressive and the communications via e-mail excellent. We highly recommend this property and will stay again during our next trip to Venice.

Our San Polo apartment was THE highlight of our trip to Venice—and that’s saying a lot. Every day we found a new treasure — a painting we hadn’t noticed before, another animal figurine, a neat knife holder, more glasses!
There were five in our group and we found that water taxis were our favorite way to travel. They weren’t that much more expensive than the vaporetto and were way more comfortable. ($50 vs $37.50). And they come right to the door!

The apartment was beautiful, just as pictured! Our 18 year old daughter loved the small loft and chose to stay there instead of in the second bedroom. The location of the apartment was perfect - quiet but an easy walk to everything with nice restaurants and shops just steps away. Great communication before our arrival and we were welcomed warmly at check-in. Highly recommend, you can’t go wrong with this apartment.

An enchanting, art-filled home that provides a wonderfully unique and magical experience.
Our family of five enjoyed our stay here over Thanksgiving immensely. Our two younger daughters were thrilled to sleep in the secret loft. My husband and I spent many late night hours sipping wine, studying the art, and pondering the life of the artist and homeowner. This is truly a fascinating place, full of character and eclectic charm. We were honored to be guests here.

Venice personified.
This apartment was beautifully and eclectically decorated with artwork and antiques. It was a delightful home-away-from-home for two couples and is in a quiet location. It is close to a grocery store and within walking distance to the San Toma vaporetto stop and many restaurants. We made arrangements easily with Cristiana (Laura's daughter) for pickup and drop off by water taxi directly to Corte Amaltea from the Venice train station. I would return to this apartment and recommend it for friends travelling together. The only drawback was that access to the master bedroom was through a narrow hallway that encompassed one of the bathrooms and the washing machine.

A fascinating property in exotic Venice
This is a very interesting property. My husband and I stayed here for three nights with another couple. The home is located in an out-of-the-way square on the lovely San Polo island, not a touristy area at all. The home is chock-full of interesting and beautiful art and furniture. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is tiny but it was adequate for us because we only ate breakfast in. There is a nice breakfast area. There are several bathrooms and one shower. We used the wash machine and the dry rack.
It is close to the San Toma vaporetto stop but it's very easy to get lost going to and from. There is a Conad's grocery story near the home. There are several good restaurants nearby. Nothing is too far in Venice. We bought the 72 hour vaporetto pass and used it a lot. Christiana was responsive to our needs throughout the process.
This is a quirky place so if you are looking for a predictable hotel-room experience, this is not for you. If you are willing to be flexible, this place is worth it for the unique experience.

It has taken me a while to send my review because it’s sometimes difficult to describe dreams. My friends and family came together for my 50th birthday at the end of May for 20 wonderful days. My and Cristiana’s email exchanges were some of the most pleasant I ever had with someone I’ve never met. She put me at ease with every question and concern I had. There were no issues or problems while we were there but she checked in to see how things were going and to give us a heads up when the housekeeper was coming, who was also very lovely to us. The apartment is perfect. Necessities are covered, everything works. But that’s not what the apartment is about. It’s not about form and function; it’s heart, passion and beauty that trump all here. The place is an extension of Venice itself: beauty reigns and the past is honored in this home of a Venetian artist and her family. I was moved every time I walked in the door, amazed that anyone would open up a home like this to citizens of the world. But this is what the artist chooses to give of herself to the world: a beautiful setting borne from her past and her work as an artist while we live the day-to-day life in modern Venice. With each turn of the head and sideways glance, new and glorious images appeared. Then the frame would expand and I would delight in how perfectly thought out it all was. My husband and I awoke every morning to a painting of an angel. We stood still at midnight and watched sparkling moons danced across the dining room wall and ceiling. And we sat quietly in the sitting room as the light at dusk streamed in from the huge windows. The longer we stayed, the more we fell in love. We were struck by how coming “home” to this apartment made our daily outings only half of our Venetian experience. We easily fell into a daily routine. In the mornings, we drank espresso together in the sitting room. We hung laundry out the window, which in the act itself makes the place feel like home - and only one sock fell the entire time! - and was easily retrieved. We toasted with Prosecco before going out for dinner and shopped for groceries at a store literally 45 seconds away. The location is ideal. It’s an easy walk to the Rialto Bridge, where you can also reach Canneregio and Castello in minutes. The Scuola di San Rocco and the Frari church are less than 3 minutes away (do not miss!) Dorsoduro and the Zattere a 15 minute walk and there is always the vaparetto stop just 2 minutes away. Gorgeous experience.

Very nice stay in a good location
We had a nice stay in Venice and enjoyed San Polo. Everything was very good for our stay. The apartment is well located and well stocked with everything that we needed. The layout for 2 couples was a bit less than ideal. The master bedroom was nice but the second bedroom choice is a small low loft. Good for kids but not for adults. Other than that we had a very nice stay and enjoyed our stay very much.

An Exquisite Apartment in an Ideal Location
This is a beautiful apartment. The listing description is quite accurate. Very high ceilings and great natural light during the day. The well-designed layout of the apartment would work perfectly for a group as small as two people or as large as six people. The apartment was spotless, and, unlike some vacation rentals, its kitchen includes all equipment and utensils that you would need if you choose to cook yourself. The Rialto fish and vegetable markets are about a fifteen-minute walk from the apartment. Conveniently located, the apartment is situated in a quiet courtyard that is free of noisy pedestrian traffic. And our water taxi to the airport picked us up a mere twenty steps away from the apartment.
As it turns out, we did not cook at all because of the many great restaurants within walking distance, including Muro Frari (very close to the apartment), alla Zucca (good vegetarian and meat options), Antiche Carampane (the best seafood we had in Venice), Osteria Trefanti (my personal favorite), and Trattoria da Ignazio (very close to the apartment).
The Frari church featuring works by Titian, Bellini, and Donatello and the tombs of Titian and Canova is a must-see and a four-minute walk from the apartment. Another must-see is also very close to the apartment: the Scuola San Rocco, which has been described as "Tinteretto's Sistine Chapel." Most of the other major sights in Venice (St. Mark's Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the Museo Correr, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and the Accademia) are within a half-hour's walk of the apartment. And the apartment is about a ten-minute walk from the train station. We arrived in Venice by train, and we easily walked to the apartment with the very specific and helpful directions that the owner gave us.
And the owner was very efficient and responsive. She even arranged the pre-booking of our water taxi reservation for 5:45 a.m. on New Year's Day.

Exquisite accomodation in Venice.
We are a family of 5 (kids are 12, 10 and 7) and just back from 5 day stay in Venice. The apartment was beautiful, perfectly located for all we needed and it was not a problem that we arrived earlier than expected. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking to spend a few days close to everything.

A Work of Art
The apartment is like an art gallery with wonderful art in every room. It was very well equipped and well located for exploring Venice. Close to a good grocery store and restaurants. I would recommend this apartment to anyone. Need to walk up 2 flights of stairs but that is not unusual.

Outstanding Property in Venice
We rented this property for three nights in July with our two children (12 and 10). It was the best place that we stayed in Italy! It was close enough to the main tourist sites by vaporetto or by walking (about 10 - 15 minutes to the Grand Canal) but yet removed from the hordes of tourists that you would have at a location closer to those sites. The art (and the air conditioning) in this apartment were fantastic. It was very quiet at night. There were several good restaurants in the vicinity - TripAdvisor was very helpful. We would certainly stay here again. The owner was very helpful and responsive.

Absolutely wonderful!
Everything was as pictured and listed. Great neighborhood with cafes, gelato shops, restaurants and groceries nearby. Central location, close to everything - we're a family of 4 with 2 kids, ages 9 and 11 and were able to easily walk to all the major points of interest. The apartment was gorgeous, well-maintained and had everything we needed. The owner was very responsive to all our inquiries and requests. I highly recommend it.

Perfect Location, Beautiful Apartment, Friendly and Helpful Service
A perfect location for a week in Venice, very central and a great base to explore from. More of less next door to the Frari Church, easy walking distance to the Rialto, 5 mins to the Vapporetti which will take you everywhere. The location is wonderfully quiet and private but only a minute (literally) to a great corner shop open until 9pm and which sells everything you need including lots of fresh food. Prices very reasonable. Some restaurants within 1 or 2 minutes lots more within 5 mins. So, all in all a near perfect location.
As for the apartment - its everything it seems from the photos, interesting, elegant, quirky, spacious, clean and comfortable. Amazing bathroom ratio - 4 bathrooms (we only used 3!) which worked well with 2 adults and two teenage girls. Small kitchen but well equipped so catering for ourselves was a pleasure and gave us the opportunity to join the locals at the Rialto market early in the morning and buy fresh fish, seafood and vegetables rather than just take photos - great fun even with rudimentary Italian.
Arranging arrival and everything else with Elisabetta was a pleasure and made very easy. We'd all recommend this as a great place to stay for family or friends.
