We stayed 5 days at the property for a quick end-of-summer getaway. House was comfortable, owner provided tons of information about the house and local area. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out (Two adults and 3 kids all had their own beds). Kitchen had everything we needed. The kids enjoyed making homemade ice cream using the “ice cream ball.” Will stay again next time we visit!

The cabin was laid out and organized well. The host communicated clearly and responded quickly, and all directions were clear.
It was located in a nice quiet neighborhood, but still just a short drive from a number of activities. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 and a little larger group would still be comfortable there as we didn't even need to use two of the bedrooms.
There were a lot of windows, which was nice for natural light, and watching the snow fall. The dining area and living room were open for easy communication, but there was another living area for when kids wanted to do something different.
Overall, this cabin worked really well for us, and I would recommend it.

Our family of 4 spent a week at this wonderful property. This home was private and quiet but also provided easy access to great restaurants & other amenities. It had a very lived-in, comfort home feel, in the best possible way. We loved the glass-surround dining area and plentiful nature yard space. The owner was very responsive throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic time. Check in was easy and the location was great. I loved curling up in the big chair by the fireplace with a book while it snowed outside. I'd definitely recommend this place.

The cabin was perfect for our stay. It is comfortable and cozy with a rustic cabin decor. It is very well-equipped, with every possible kitchen gadget you might need. The owners shared lots of information about things to do around the lake, including the best restaurants. The beds were very comfortable and the outside areas for dining and relaxing offered a woodsy atmosphere with a true Tahoe feel. Thank you, Steve and Dorothy for sharing your little piece of heaven!

Oh my goodness what a place. We had the best time in Tahoe. The location was perfect, North Tahoe is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet location. Even though this house is in a housing track you wouldn't know it because of all the trees and quiet neighborhood. At one point we were on the deck and the neighbors were on their deck and we hadn't realized it for hours. The house was clean, plenty of room and everything was at our fingertips. They thought of everything, well stocked and provided. We were so central for everything and thanks to the "book" we knew the best beaches, places to eat and where to shop. We all enjoyed ourselves so much. We want to go back and when we do we want to stay here!!!! Thank you Steve and Dorothy for sharing this beautiful home. We LOVED it.

Thanks for a great stay in Agate Bay! Steve was so responsive both prior to and during our stay. The house is conveniently located near Northstar, Alpine, and Squaw as well as great nearby hiking trails. The beds were comfortable, the fireplace was cozy, and the games library was extensive for family time. We will be returning!

Booking and communication with owner was easy and property exactly as described - even has bonus beds and a dogs allowed policy. All in all - an excellent choice for ski week for our family.

Steven's cabin was a home away from home, and with ample space, and yet a cozy vibe for three adults. The cabin was extremely well stocked, from spices to a coffee grinder, anything you can think of was there (including chilled beer glasses and beer). Steven was extremely courteous and communicative, in a non intrusive way. The wifi was excellent to support video calls for multiple people., the best touch was the little dog welcome basket, complete with toys and a blanket. Overall, a fantastic experience and would highly recommend,

Lake Tahoe is a very special place for my family. We had a wonderful stay at this property. As soon as I booked, Steve was in communication with me and communicated regularly. He went above and beyond by providing recommendations for our trip. As a result, we were able to explore many new places in Carnelian Bay. I loved the cabin’s layout. The cabin had all the supplies we needed. The kitchen was well stocked. The outdoor areas were fun and relaxing. We loved our stay and highly recommend!

Steven and Dorthy’s place is in a Tahoe Vista neighborhood close to everything the North Tahoe area offers. We cooked a lot (covid!) and found everything we needed in the kitchen, even frosty beer mugs in the freezer. Beds are comfy, hangout spaces are snug but not cramped. Fireplace is beautiful and so are Steven’s watercolors on the walls. We had a great stay, and even brought our little dog. Recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! It exceeded our expectations on all it had to offer. We originally planned on staying in one of the lodges in Tahoe, but after doing some research on VRBO we found this cozy cabin and we were so happy with it. The location was very convenient to everything. Steve and his family really went out of their way to provide so much information on where to go and restaurants to visit. This made our trip so much easier for to get around and enjoy ourselves! Everything was so clean and it felt like home. When we weren't out exploring Tahoe we were able to enjoy the cabin and all of the board games, beautiful porch and outdoor games they have. We really had a great experience and would definitely go back!

This was our second year in a row renting from Steve, and we were as happy with the rental as the first time that brought us back. The listing is as described. The place is quite charming and looks newly renovated. The photos actually don't do the sunroom justice. The place was very clean. Not as much snow, but we did use the provided sleds for an afternoon. Steve was even flexible enough to accommodate our travel times. Much appreciated and looking forward to coming back next year.

We (2 adults + 2 kids) stayed at this chalet for 5 nights. Cute chalet with everything we needed. Close to the lake, Safeway, forest. Loved the beer mugs waiting for us in the freezer! Enjoyed reading the notes throughout the house. They were good reminders. The fireplace was definitely the place to gather around after a day of skiing. Even our dog did! Everything was clean and well decorated. You could definitely feel that the owners DO care about their place. We will definitely come back in the future! Thanks!

This was the first time we rented a cabin and it was a great experience. Steve was very helpful and answered questions quickly. The cabin itself is even cozier than the pictures and very clean, we felt immediately at home. the decor is well thought out, not like a Hotel but just like a home which is just what we wanted. The fireplace deserves a special mention... Amazing!! Having grown up in the countryside of England I was ready to build fires, and was looking forward to enjoying the fireplace and I was so impressed with the gas start it made it sooooo easy to start the fire up. The little reminder notes around the house were helpful and all the information given to us beforehand left us with practically no questions. A great selection of games kept us entertained daily. My husband wished for more channels on the TV cause he couldn't watch his football.....but I was happy to have the family time with a break from the TV, that's what Tahoe is all about!! The kitchen was well equipped with most all the spices and basic dry food you have at home. The location of the cabin is great, close to Safeway and many of the outdoor attractions.
Thanks Steve, until next time!!

This is our first time to visit lake Tahoe. We are so glad to pick up this house for our short vacation. This property has great location! Close to everything (eg. Safeway, restaurants.). Walking distance to lake shore. And just around 20 mins driving to the beautiful Sand Harbor! This house was as advertised. Nice, comfortable, clean, quiet, cozy. Very well outfitted kitchen!! Most important is the owner is warm-hearted and very easy-going. We will rent this property again.

Our family just spent a very enjoyable week at this cabin and we recommend it enthusiastically.
We've rented cabins half a dozen times before in West Lake Tahoe but this was our first time in the North Lake area. The cabin is in a peaceful and scenic neighborhood and it was nice to miss the crowds of Tahoe City. The cabin is close to a good selection of publicly accessible beaches and restaurants (Garwoods, the Old Post Office Café, and Mourrelato’s Ice Cream were our favorites) and things to do (hiking trails, mini-golf and a wooden boat show during the week of our stay).
This was easily the best-appointed cabin we’ve rented. There's a well-stocked kitchen (chilled beer mugs in the freezer were a particularly pleasant surprise when we arrived), a beautiful fireplace, a large deck, tons of board games, and even a sand volleyball/badminton court. Furnishings are newer and the cabin overall is in great shape. It slept 7 of us (5 adults and 2 kids) very comfortably. The owners are helpful, reasonable and easy to deal with. They have assembled lots of info on things to do in the area and are happy to make recommendations. We hope to have a chance to return.

A beautiful time in Tahoe was our vacation this summer. This cozy cabin was the perfect size and had the right feel. It had all the amenities including grill and washer and dryer, but wasn't over-the-top in luxury. Comfortable and affordable. Close to hiking and beaches, but enough off the beaten trail so it was quiet.

We stayed at this cabin over the 4th of July week with 2 large dogs and extended family. Having stayed all over the Lake Tahoe area in our lifetime, we had never stayed in the Agate Bay community. What a treat! A great location, easy jog to the "dog' beach, and perfect spot to reach all of our favorite destinations around the Lake. The cabin was great, the floor plan worked well, and the rooms were cozy and tasteful. We spent alot of time on the deck - many meals were eaten outside.
We look forward to renting this property again, and all agreed it would be an ideal ski rental.

My girlfriends and I planned a get-away trip to Tahoe for Memorial Day weekend and we had such a great time. The drive up to the cabin was very easy. Right when we walked in to the cabin, we were amazed at how much room there was. Everything we needed was supplied in the cabin. The owners labeled everything so we found things pretty easily. Instructions were posted on how to use the bbq grill and fireplace. The entire process from selecting the date, to contacting Steve, and payment was painless. The girls and I had such an amazing time in Tahoe. For the 3 days we were there, we went to Kings Beach and took a neighborhood walk, but majority of the time we stayed in the cabin cooking, talking, laughing, and playing badminton. We had such a great time that we are playing with the idea of possibly going to Tahoe once a year for an annual girls trip! When it's time to plan for our trip next year, we will be renting this cabin again. Thank you, Steve and Dorthy!!!

Had a terrific time and would rent again. Very comfortable and a nice family room to accommodate all. Kitchen nook is terrific as you feel as if you are sitting outside.
Owner was very helpful and prompt and delivered keys and returned deposit as promised.

We rented this home on short notice and the owners were great at working with us. The fireplace was wonderful for sitting around and talking. The sun room was a place to soak in the morning sun and drink coffee.. It was a relaxing retreat. It is a dog friendly cabin well maintained.

We stayed at Steve and Dorthy's cabin for four nights in February and had a great time! The neighborhood was lovely and houses are far enough apart that you could go sledding in between them. The kids went to ski school at Alpine Meadows (look for the 10-pack lesson deal online) and then we returned to the cabin each evening for some sled and snow play. It was wonderful that the cabin was stocked with sleds, games, books, magazines and even condiments. I appreciated having two separate living rooms so the kids could play games or watch TV in one room and adults could relax and talk in the other. The beds were very comfortable, the entire place clean and well-maintained. Since two families shared the cost right down the middle, I was glad there wasn't a clear "master" bedroom that appeared a cut above the rest. All of us got nice bedrooms and were happy. It even had a new washer/dryer and other nicer amenities that we haven't found at other rental cabins. I spent a ton of time shopping around for a cabin that would be just right and am thrilled with this location. It will be our home base for Tahoe vacations from now on and I won't hesitate to recommend it to my friends (as long as they promise not to book it when we want to go ourselves!).

We stayed for two nights in mid-March. The cabin looks newly remodeled and is in pristine condition. We loved the sun nook and the kitchen was very well-stocked with supplies. The beds were very comfortable and the temperature of the cabin was perfect from beginning to end. There was firewood waiting for us in the fireplace. The only minor downside was that we had to put on chains to drive up the driveway, but we were glad that there was snow on the ground to require that!

Best experience I've ever had in renting a cabin. The home itself is beautiful, though a bit smaller than it looked in the picture, and Steve was very helpful with explaining the best areas around the cabin and providing directions. Both children and adults had a great time up there and it's definitely a place we'd like to stay at again! Thanks Steve!
