This was our first summer visit to North Tahoe and we were thrilled with our cabin - Away on Allenby. Check in and check out were very easy with no hiccups. Our cabin was the perfect size for a family of four and the location was very convenient and private. The only thing that was missing was a hot tub (but we knew going in that it did not have one). We enjoyed orienting ourselves on the trails just outside the cabin. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. I really appreciated the inventory of kitchen supplies, including basic spices, olive oil and coffee filters! I would highly recommend Away on Allenby.

Enjoyed the property it was as advertised. Wish the family room was a little larger & furniture a bit more comfortable. Also, may want to check the plumbing in downstairs shower - it sometimes didn’t turn off completely.

Great House, close to the lake and Northstar resort
We had a really nice stay at this property. The house is modern and clean, very-well equipped (especially if you like to cook) and the room are comfortable and cozy.
We were only 10 mins drive away from Northstar which was super convenient and a few minutes drive from the lake, shops, restaurants. Would happily come back!

The perfect summer retreat
We finished a 10 day road trip from northern Washington here and this was absolutely the best ending to a great trip. We had more than enough space for our two families and the children each had areas to spread out. After several days of hiking, we were able to relax with coffee and meals on the beautiful back deck, and loved our days at the beach. We enjoyed easy hikes just out the back door, and mini golf nearby. I am already looking forward to returning in the (hopefully) very near future!

Great little Cabin for Single Family
Pros: Cozy, cute, clean, excellent access to out the door hiking / snowshoeing / cross-country skiing. Gave us a much appreciated 3 pm checkout option. Loved that, thanks!
Cons: Fairly small common area for relaxing. Very cozy, but only nicely comfortable for 2 or 3 at a time. Small, but nice kitchen. Might do with a bit more organizing, though hard to provide all they do with the limited storage. One drawer was so full of kitchen tools, some with edges, that my daughter would only reach in with tongs to find and get things out. Ha! :-)
Overall, though, we loved this place for 3 or 4 because it was so cute and had such great access to snowshoeing. Technically, there really are 4 two person bedrooms, but overall would be a little tight even with 5 people.

We really enjoyed our stay at Allenby. The home was clean, cozy, and we had everything we needed for cooking in each day. The only thing we would suggest is a little better lighting in the upstairs bedroom (to the left of the stairway). Thank you for making our stay wonderful.

The home overall was excellent and in great condition. All the areas of the property were very comfortable for my family and there was plenty of room indoors and out. Good Livin’
This cabin was amazing! From the views of the forest to the amenities needed for any home, it’s all there. It was so comfortable for my family of 5, the first 3 days we decided to not explore Lake Tahoe. The wildlife viewing from the deck is enough to relax and enjoy VACATION. There is a trail for hikers and mountain bikers just a few steps below the deck which has a Lake Tahoe view point. Inside the cabin, everything needed for cooking, entertainment and sleeping is all there. When we did get out to do some fishing, the Truckee River is not far. It’s in a great location from being far enough from the noise and traffic in Kings Beach but close enough to do the grocery shopping if needed. My family and I are already talking about coming back.

We were group of 6 people, had a great time and the place was fit perfect for us. The place is on a smaller side but it is very well renovated. Furniture, kitchen appliances, bedding, all is done with good taste. It’s a great cozy place in a quite neighborhood. I would come back for sure. Thanks !

I have SO much to say about this vacation rental..... It was the BEST STAY and EXPERIENCE i have had with any vacation rental. I will always come back when wanting to rent a cabin and i have already showed all my friends and family so they too can rental in the future. The booking process was very quick and simple. I was notified every step of the way leading up to our trip, AND even received a call the day of arrival just letting us know that they were all ready for us and we could call if any problems. Arriving at the cabin me and my family were VERY PLEASED, the cabin was SO BEAUTIFUL and GREAT location with everything we could need for our stay. The beds were comfortable, bedding was nice and rooms were very pretty. The pictures don't do this place any justice. Loved that they had a big table on the back deck, we ate every dinner outside the kids loved that, and some breakfasts too. I'm very happy we found this gem and hope future renters take care of this place so we can all keep coming back. Thank You Away on Allenby for the WONDERFUL stay, we will be back soon!

This rental was everything I was looking for! Small and cozy yet perfect my family of four adults and four small kids. Perfect setting with sounds of the creek close by and lots of privacy. 1) Fantastic location. Very quiet! I only saw 2 other people the whole week. Because of where it's located, only 1 car drove by during the week. 2) The remodel is amazing! Very chic! 3) WiFi and DirecTV worked perfectly. 4) Spotlessly clean when we arrived. 5) We had 4 adults and a baby and had plenty of room. This house could sleep 6 adults and 2 kids comfortably. 6) My wife is a chef and LOVED the kitchen! All new appliances. 7) The deck was great for evening gatherings. We hosted a dinner for other people racing and the deck accommodated everyone very well. 8) The bathrooms were very clean. 9) We felt like we got more than what we paid for.

Great location with only a few other cabins around. It is a few miles to Kings Beach and 10 minutes to Northstar. Loved being able to hike right from the property. Tehe cabin was very tastefully decorated and very nice inside. We were very comfortable. Kitchen is small but great appliances. We had a wonderful time at this cabin! We were in 6 people total and the cabin was very comfortable. The kids had a blast playing in the woods and snow and we walked at the trails behind the house everyday. One morning we even saw a bear walking by the forest behind the house at 7 am, we were very excited! The kitchen is very well equipped and showers work very well too. We recommend that you take you own pillows, the ones in the house are very soft. We also suggest that the owners add a couple more light chairs to the dining table. The chairs around the dinner table were nice but very heavy to use. The location was great, close to NorthStar, close to Safeway, close to Truckee and close to the lake. You can actually walk to the Lake if you take the trails behind the house. Thanks for the great time we had at your house!

This cabin may look small, but the way they made use of space makes it feel much bigger than it is. The photos were accurate, but the cabin was even better than I expected. Everything is updated/remodeled from the stone in the bathroom to the appliances in the kitchen. And all the furniture matched! This place definitely had the cabin feel without being tacky. The amenities like gas fireplace and laundry room were a definite plus. The bedrooms were a good size with queen beds and plenty of extra bedding and pillows. The deck is huge, but didn't make much use of it given that we stayed here in December. The hiking/cross country skiing trails behind the cabin are perfect if you need some exercise, and the cabin is only a seven minute drive to Northstar. This cabin was perfect for six adults and we all agreed to book this cabin when we vacation in Tahoe again.

Away on Allenby was a perfect getaway. My husband and stayed for almost a week in August and enjoyed the peace and quiet, the high quality furnishings, and convenient location. Hiking trails right out your back door thanks to the cross country ski trails. Would definitely stay again.
