About this house rental
IMPORTANT: We do not accept third party bookings. The person whose name is on the reservation must be staying at the property.
We no longer accept dogs, no exceptions.
Pricing is $390.00 base price for up to 2 guests. $40.00 per night for each additional guest per night after the first 2 guests. Children under age 3 stay free, 10% discount on one week stays. (Please let us know if any of your children are aged 3 and under when you fill out the inquiry form.) Minimum stay of 2 nights.
Minimum age of primary renter: 25.
INTERNET AND CELL SERVICE: we do not have wifi OR satellite TV (though we do have an extensive DVD library), because trees around the house block satellite reception from the South sky. There is also no cell service in Yosemite West. Cell service is spotty in Yosemite Valley. There is free wifi available in Yosemite Valley at Degnan's Kitchen, and there are computers with wifi at the libraries in Yosemite Valley and Wawona. If you have need of wifi during your stay, please see our home in Wawona, the Hummingbird Pika House, which has wifi (VRBO 1156877).
Yosemite West is inside Yosemite National Park. It is a 25-35 minutes drive to Yosemite Valley attractions, 30 minutes to Glacier Point and 30 minutes to Mariposa Grove and Wawona. This is also the closest lodging for Badger Pass Ski Area, with downhill and cross country skiing and snowshoeing - only eight miles away from your door.
This Yosemite West home is located close to the Glacier Point Road, so you are very close to Taft Point and Glacier Point, the most spectacular views of Yosemite Valley.
This house sleeps a maximum of 8 - 10 people. Please note if you have a larger group that this house has 1 1/2 bathrooms, and only 1 shower. If you need 2 showers, please check out our other Yosemite West rental cabin, the Hummingbird Pines House (VRBO 470093).
The Hummingbird Raven House has a spacious deck high in the trees which is a wonderful place to eat dinner and enjoy the sunset.
Please note that our house has a spiral staircase which may be difficult for elderly folks and small children. Our other Yosemite West vacation home, the Hummingbird Pines House (VRBO 470093) is more suited to elderly guests as it has only 2 steps into the house and bedrooms on the ground floor.
If our cabin and Yosemite are accessible, we do not cancel, modify, or refund reservations based on smoke, which is a very common occurrence in Yosemite each summer. This policy is consistent with all vacation rentals in Yosemite West.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and a half bath. Upstairs are two additional bedrooms, with a queen size bed and four bunks. A convertible sofa-bed in the office sleeps 1 to 2 more guests. Note: we cannot accommodate more than 10 guests at a time.
This house is equipped with a full kitchen and a large dining table. There is a bbq and dining furniture on the deck, which is a wonderful place to enjoy dinner and watch the sunset.
Like most homes in Yosemite West, the Hummingbird Raven House does not have air conditioning. We do have individual room fans. Our location is 6,000 feet of elevation, so usually remains cooler than Yosemite Valley.
We no longer accept dogs, no exceptions.

Great location. Half hour to Yosemite valley and half hour to glacier point.

My son and I had a very nice stay. Enjoyed the cabin.

We had great clean cabins. Unlucky for us - the temps demanded some AC and we had none. I know this is not normal for this area. Also we were there with multiple family members - 6 cabins in all and were a little too far apart in this very mountainous area to do family well. No cell or WiFi made our plans for dinner and sharing time a bit more difficult and the house phone never worked. I loved the clean and wonderful cabins but would probably not book again for these reasons. Thank you to Michelle for helping us book this time together and for her responses to all our questions. I would recommend this to a single family who did not need to communicate with the outside world or to other cabins and during a cooler season. Very clean and very well maintained cabin, stocked with all the necessary items.

Yosemite NP is a fantastic place.
This place is in a great location.
Unfortunately, it was extremely hot outside and inside.
I wish we could have gotten the temperature below 85 inside the house - but there was no relief.
We enjoyed almost every area of Yosemite while there, easy access daily, already inside the park to minimize lines/waiting.
We were up early each day and home late - so much to do in the park.
Just wish we could have slept, but it was too hot.

I would describe the house as, “adequate, and in need of a little TLC.”
It is about a 30 or so minute drive into Yosemite Valley, where many of the sights to take in are. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking with about anything you’d need to cook and serve multiple guests. Take all of your own food, spices, oils, coffee, tea, or anything else you’ll need to cook.
The gas grill on the porch was good to use and eating out there was nice. The sky at night was perfectly clear and so dark that you could see the Milky Way galaxy.
The furniture and rugs on top of the carpet are all dated. The rug in the living area by the door outside was dirty and dusty. The living room rug buckles up and is a tripping hazard. Dust flew up from the couch when you hit it with your hand. The door mat on the porch into the house looked decades old. Several windows won’t open and that makes flow-through ventilation impossible; no air conditioning (as advertised) and with a heat wave (97 degrees at the house) the house wasn’t cool in the day, but “manageable” I guess. I’m not sure my wife agreed though even with the fans.
The clothes dryer did not work and I sent text messages to the host as well as a housekeeper and never heard back. We had to hang the wet clothes on the balcony rail to dry.
The house met our needs as a place to sleep. Without updates, however, we would not stay here again.

Very kind owners, great communication and responses.
Good location inside of Yosemite NP, with a quick 7 minutes drive to tunnel view which provided us with an out of this world sunrise view of Yosemite valley and it waterfalls.

Great place to stay while seeing Yosemite!

We had an amazing stay at Hummingbird Raven House. It was perfect for our family of four. Extremely nice to have as much space as we explored Yosemite NP.for three days. The location is superb, close to the Valley, but also much closer to other key places like Glacier Point, and Wawona/Mariposa. The house was very well kept, with great amenities, beautiful property. Everything functioned well. The communication with the property owners was very detailed and thorough. They were extremely kind and provided excellent information on the park and day trip ideas. We really love our stay here and would gladly stay here again. Definitely would recommend this place to couples, families, friends as your headquarters for an amazing Yosemite stay!!!

Nice lived-in cabin for 4 to stay comfortably (max 4 because everyone has to share the same shower). Plenty of space for indoor and outdoor relaxation. Great location for accesssing Yosemite Valley or Mariposa Grove (about 35 minutes from each) without having to enter through the park entrance ranger station. This location allowed access to the park twice in the same day when we wanted to hike early, come home for a rest, and then return to Yosemite Valley in the evening.

We had an issue with finding lots of giant winged ants crawling on the carpet and a couple black beetles as well. Especially when we turned heater on they would appear out of nowhere near the vents making me think they came from the vents. Needs an exterminator visit to spray around the house.
It didn’t ruin our stay though! We just killed them when we would see them with paper towels and we only saw them in the day not at night which isn’t a huge issue since we were mostly out on hikes.
Also this place has DVDs, Board games such as Jenga and Monopoly, and some books. The Board games were a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed some Jenga but I recommend bringing some of own board games or card games to add a little more diversity.
View from the Balcony in the morning is really relaxing for sipping on a morning coffee and letting your brain rest. Good bathtub and shower but bring own shampoo and body wash as we noticed there was only hand soap in the bathroom.
Overall very pleasant place to stay in. Very quiet neighborhood which made it easy to sleep in but I recommend bringing a sleep mask to help with that as it gets a little sunny through the windows in the morning. Didn’t see any bears the whole time here so that’s a relief. Just Squirrels, woodpeckers, Blue Jays, chipmunks and little critters. Very relaxing stay.

Even a bit nicer than the photos! The beds are super comfy, the place was spotless, we cooked huge meals and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The BBQ had propane, there were hand juicers, and three different ways to make coffee. We walked in and were very happy with the booking. The windows in the living space are massive and let in a ton of light and the deck is spacious. We had a great time over New Years. The neighborhood is cozy and quiet and an easy drive to the park without having to wait at the gate, you can get to Tunnel View in about 20 minutes. Really the location is quite superb. The hosts answered our last-minute questions with quick responses and check-in and check-out were a breeze. Make sure you don't forget your toiletries like we did, there's only two places in Yosemite to buy shampoo. The upstairs bathroom has a great shower with lots of water pressure and the bath is so nice. Hope to come back again one day. Thanks for having us!

The property looked better than the pictures provided in the listing. The amenities and other details matched the listing. The hosts were quick to respond to questions. My family had a good stay. Suggestion - it would be great to get some new DVDs/blurays (the selection there is pretty old). Th

Location is great. For the nightly rate it would be easy to update some items…toilet seats, air filters, well used pots and pans and clean upholstery. Easy communication with owner.

The location was great for our trip; however, the cleanliness was not good. I have stayed in rustic cabins and understand what comes with that type of lodging. However, cleanliness is expected as a standard especially for our cost to stay. The carpet was dirty (all over), furniture was dusty and stained, kitchen cabinets doors where dirty, screen door was broken, etc. There was a "large" spider web (and spiders) in the bathroom which based on size has been there a long time. We were asked not to come to the house until the cleaners had time to clean (not sure they cleaned at all). No way would we stay at that house again or recommend it to anyone. Thank you.

The hosts, Michelle and Peter were helpful in our pre-trip planning to make sure we were prepared for half-done and were easy to communicate with while we were at the house. The cabin house was perfect for our needs and was very clean. When they warn you about the bear activity make sure you do everything they tell you! There was bear activity in the neighborhood and we even saw a coyote waltzing down the street!

The house was comfortable, well equipped, private, quiet. It was further from the village than anticipated.

We really enjoyed our time in the house and the access it gave us to all the hot spot to visit in the Park. The house is mainly very comfortable and well equiped, like it is advertized. However, we had to make a few guesses to find out how to set up the last two beddings. But on the whole, nothing to say : we would book that house again if we were to come to Yosemite again.

The most enjoyable feature of Hummingbird Raven house was that after a hot, sweaty, crowded, gorgeous, awe-inspiring day in Yosemite Valley we fixed a simple dinner and relaxed on the deck, drinking in the view, the quiet, and the cool breeze. It was heavenly. We considered ourselves better off than the rest of the family staying at the Ahwahnee.
The hosts were very friendly and easy to work with, and clear in communications. We appreciated the nicely functioning refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, DVD player, fans in each room and comfortable bed. The furnishings and flooring are not new and the odd interior staircase was intimidating, but we were fairly warned. The facility is pleasantly close to Yosemite Valley, came as advertised, yet actually provides a much more enjoyable retreat in the forest than words can describe. Bravo to Michelle and Peter!

We enjoyed our stay at the house. It was very clean and on a great location- 20 mins from the tunnel and 40 mins total from the house to the visitor center. The house is comfortable and our entire family were pleased with it. Owners were very responsive throughout the entire process.
Some areas of the house are dated but they are clean, which is the most important aspect for us.
Overall, nice stay.

It was a cozy home however it would be wonderful if it hand an extra shower, more curtains in the living room. Kinda felt a bit awkward at night but overall really love the place 4/5 stars ❤️
P.s the carpet/floor on master bed room was lifting ( there was a bump)

The house was wonderful! It was easy to find and a great location.
It had several home improvements since the photos were taken - including a new TV, electric stove top, oven, and stainless steel refrigerator.
The owners had several thoughtful touches, including having an expansive DVD collection and laundry detergent available for the laundry machines.

This house is in need of a good cleaning. Carpets very dirty. Fabric on living room furniture dirty. Six fabric covered chairs, all dirty. Very worn toilet seat. Broken shower drain. Microwave dirty and rusted. Sofa pillows have holes. Fabric door on Master toilet. BBQ too dirty to use. I expected more for the price paid. Disappointed. We do not recommend.

We were supposed to be staying in Curry Village but due to winter damage our tent cabin was cancelled at the last minute. Thanking we found this place. It allowed us to stay in the park and avoid the line to enter the park gate at El Portal everyday. It’s a little way from the valley floor but it is very nice, quiet, and peaceful neighborhood. It had everything we needed, hot showers, kitchen with all the needed tools, and plenty of beds for the whole crew. It would have been great to get to Glacier Point for sunset/sunrise but unfortunately the road was still closed due to the abundant snow this year. All in all a great experience.
6.0
You are paying for the location here. You are essentially in the park. But you are still 45 minutes from the heart of hiking and trails at Yosemite Valley.
One big negative is that there is NO Wi-Fi or cellular service at this location. This made it very difficult to navigate and plan during our stay. I felt for the price of the stay, an internet connection would be appropriate.
The cabin was the perfect size for our group. Although the flooring and carpeting was very worn and warped in some areas.

Beautiful place to stay with the uncertainty of flooding in the Valley/campgrounds this time of year. We loved the location, the property, and the privacy. Very close drive into Tunnel View. 10/10 and hope they let us book again!

Beautiful location and a short drive to the amazing "Tunnel View" and then onto the Valley floor. Also close to Glacier point road. The cabin was lovely, all the amenities we needed and lots of space for the 5 of us. We loved it!

The Hunmingbird is the perfect spot to stay in Yosemite, about halfway between the valley and Mariposa grove. The beds were so Comfortable!
The carpet/furniture is quite worn and stained, for us this house was all about location.

We took our toddlers with us to Yosemite and used the cabin as a basecamp, which worked out great for us. It isn't a very long drive to the valley, and you get to drive through tunnel view every day, so that's a plus. We had plenty of space and really enjoyed the deck, plus the beds were very comfortable. Just had to keep an eye on the kids near the spiral staircase, but no issues for us. Great time!
10.0
Plenty of room for all, plenty of beds, well-equipped kitchen and home, clean. Nice location in that we didn't have to leave/re-enter Yosemite each day. Great stargazing out on the deck. One caution--watch the circular metal stairs--one in our party hurt their foot on it and had to sit out a hike.

This place was a great location, right inside the park. The neighborhood was awesome. The place is definitely dated, but truthfully we were in the park all day and basically were only there to sleep. I would definitely book again.

Yosemite visit
Excellent property that filled all our needs. Had a wonderful time. Property manager provided us with all the necessary information prior to our arrival. Even checked with us during our stay as there was a fire near Wawona. Could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this property

Wow what a fantastic property. Very comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed. Fabulous location with lovely deck and barbecue area. If we are ever lucky enough to go back to Yosemite we would love to stay here again!

Beautiful, comfortable cabin in the heart of Yosemite West
My family and I had an amazing stay at Michelle and Peter's cabin in Yosemite West. The house is spacious and comfortable and we appreciated the updated appliances in the kitchen to be able to cook big meals! The location is unbeatable too. Overall a great visit!

Hummiingbird Raven House
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful setting. We appreciated how close it was to Yosemite. It was so quiet and peaceful. The home was clean and easily met our needs for our stay.
The hosts were very responsive to our questions and helpful.
We would definitely stay her again!

Overall good; very few negatives
Nice cabin in the beautiful forest. Negatives= no air conditioning and several windows were broken. Inside is dated and carpet needs deep cleaned. My husband had to drive to a neighbor‘s house to get Wi-Fi so he could do a little bit of work. no TV stations. No rubber spatula to flip my eggs. BUT THESE ARE THE ONLY NEGATIVES! The kitchen was fully equipped with many pots, pans, dishes, coffee pot; The washer and dryer was great, there was plenty of hot water for four people, plenty of beds and at least there were fans to help combat the heat. There were plenty of DVD movies to choose from… And you don’t go to a cabin in the woods to watch TV anyway! We thought the beds were comfortable. Overall it was a wonderful, quiet, beautiful retreat. I’d stay there again.
