About this cottage rental
Seneca Sunsets is the perfect vacation spot for wine trail and lakefront enthusiasts! Located just minutes from Geneva, this well-appointed home features minimal steps and plenty of amenities that appeal to a variety of guests.
Parking for 3 vehicles is behind the home, and a large mostly level yard stretches between that and the house itself. The main entry is in the rear, and opens into a cozy country kitchen. Just through the kitchen is a dining area with table and chairs, and a spacious living room with a flat screen cable TV and comfortable furniture. To the right of the living room is the hallway that leads to three bedrooms and a full bathroom with shower/tub. An open and bright Florida room is just off the living room, and leads directly out to the lakeside of the house.
Seneca Sunsets has abundant outdoor living space, with two sitting areas above the water and a 4 person hot tub overlooking the lake. A concrete patio reaches across the entire lakefront portion of the property, with just a few steps down to the natural beach and water's edge. Kayaks are available for guests' enjoyment, as well as a boat hoist! Water depth is gradual, so this home is ideal for children and adults alike. Located right on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, Seneca Sunsets is near several popular wineries like Ventosa Vineyards and 3 Brothers Wineries, War Horse Brewery, and even a distillery, as well as many area attractions and the Hobart/William Smith Colleges.

Immaculate home that had everything we wanted except air conditioning in the bedrooms (the only downside). Perfect location for us. Good amount of space for 4 adults with a great dock and a boat lift. Property management team is also very responsive and cared about our safety. Thank you for sharing this home.

Overall the property was very nice. You can tell the owners took more care in the outside of the house vs the inside. The backyard was amazing. We enjoyed the propane fire pit and the gorgeous view from the dock… the dock was amazing!! The inside was a bit rough in spots. You entered through the very dated kitchen and were greeted by burn marks on the floor. They gave us coffee, but no filters. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but not terrible by any means, but the pillows were awful. My recommendation is for the owners to upgrade the pillows and just include some coffee filters and it would be highly improved. If not, guests, just bring your own pillows! Other than this, we had a great stay. I do recommend this property, especially for dog owners!

No complaints. Already planning for next year

The house was very comfortable and the yard was very nice. We especially loved the backyard patio and hot tub. The stairs down to the water and dock were very steep concrete and would have been very concerning if I had small children. The dock was very nice, sturdy and relaxing. The water was shallow and warm, perfect for swimming and just floating. I am from a family of very avid fisherman and they were very disappointed with the fishing both from the dock and out on the boat. Even the locals say the fish population has declined over the last few years and its not the great fishing destination it once was. We still had a very relaxing and comfortable vacation. Our biggest complaint was we were only allowed 7 people at all times and 3 vehicles even though the parking space would have allowed for 4 or 5. We would have like to have more family as day visitors to enjoy the lake with us.

We had a wonderful long weekend. The 3 season porch with the spectacular views made the rain day not so bad! Outdoor patio with shade tree was very enjoyable and the hot tub a bonus. Property stays on our list to visit again!

Perfect lake getaway
This house was absolutely perfect for our lake getaway. We had 7 adults and it was perfect for us. Our friends brought their boat and docked it there and everything was clean and easy! There was enough room for yard games and the sun room was perfect for board games. It was a very peaceful place to stay!

Nice
Decent stay. We came to boat on the lake and fish. I saw there was a lift and wanted to use it. We could not figure out how to use the boat the lift when we got there and there was no instruction yo be found. Turns out it was an unmarked switch in the living room. Thankfully the neighbor saw us struggling to get the boat out of the water before the storms. Beware- Seneca lake is rough when weather is near. Without the neighbor, my boat could have been destroyed.
Facts about our stay:
-Amazing view and peaceful.
-Premier properties was great with communication.
-fire pit, dock, hot tub and grill were great amenities.
- hot tub broke on second day.
- house is dated but cozy.
- We had to fix toilet while we were there.
- couldn't use the boat for two days due to the storms.
-I only caught 1 fish from the dock.
- Geneva has great pubs and breweries and is close.
- the local parks were great for the kids.
-had two small dogs. Each was charged 100 extra which i thought was high but we did get a nice "doggy bag for them".
- When the weather was nice, the lake is amazing for boating and fun.
Overall- it was a nice quiet stay.

Perfect Pandemic Getaway
My husband and I visit the Finger Lakes every year. We usually go with a budget-friendly place, but decided this year to splurge a little bit since we knew our options might be a bit more limited due to the pandemic. This house was PERFECT for our group - 3 adults, 1 toddler, 1 infant, and a dog. We loved the proximity to wineries and downtown Geneva, the direct access to the lake for swimming, the kayaks, etc. We were sad that the hot tub wasn't working during our stay, but communication with the property management company about that was very easy and we were glad to get small refund since that amenity was not available. The space was impeccably clean, I loved having an in-house washer and dryer, and the accommodations were comfortable. We will definitely keep this house on our radar for future visits!

Enjoyed the property/Disappointment with the property management
My family really enjoyed the property but had really bad experiences with property management. They do not return emails or calls in a timely manner (or not at all). I tried to give some flexibility due to COVID, but it was really bad. I would not return to this property if it was still managed by Finger Lakes Premier Properties.
Pros: Lovely location
Mostly fenced back yard (security for our 3 year old)
Kayak
Dock was peaceful
Easy check in
Grill and outdoor seating
Allows for dogs (with extra fees)
Cons: Poor management
Hot tub did not work (no return call from property management)
Dog hair throughout property- made me very nervous about the cleaning procedures (esp with COVID)
No central air (just window unit in dining room)

Loved the accessibility to the lake. Property is laid out comfortably. Quiet neighbors. The only disappointment was household supplies unavailable. Had to purchase many items. Also hot tub was not working.
