About this house rental
Located in the center of Newport’s historic Nye Beach neighborhood our beach home is short walk to the beach as well as the neighborhood’s restaurants, nightlife and shopping. In addition, Sam Moore Park is right across the street offering a playground for the kids plus access to Newport’s extensive trail system. Ample parking both on- and off-street for multiple vehicles, including room for a trailer if needed.
Beyond the neighborhood, the Newport Bayfront is just a quick 5-minute drive and within 3 miles you have the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Hatfield Marine Science Center, Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Natural Area, Agate Beach Golf Course, Newport Performing Arts Center, top surf spots, whale watching and much more. We have provided a binder with menus, brochures and information on many of these local businesses so even if this is your first time to Newport you can visit like a local.
The house itself is a bright and inviting three story custom home with a cozy gas fireplace on the main floor and panoramic views of Nye Beach from the 3rd floor. We have stocked the home with everything we love to do at the beach, including sand toys, tons of kid’s books, high chair, pack & play crib, family games and puzzles and complimentary Wi-Fi. There are flat screen TVs on each floor so you never have to argue about what to watch, as well as a DVD library, cable TV, and a Roku box with Hulu and Netflix accounts.
The kitchen is fully equipped with new stainless appliances - including a dishwasher – enough pots, pans and utensils to prepare family style meals, and the dining table easily seats eight people.
The home’s three bedrooms and two bathrooms can accommodate up to eight guests and are organized for maximum flexibility and privacy. The master bedroom is on the second floor and boasts a king-size bed, lots of windows, a sitting area, and a large bathroom with dual sinks and a walk-in shower. The washer and dryer are also located in the master bathroom. The second bedroom, located on the main floor, has a queen bed and the second full bathroom. The third bedroom occupies the entire 3rd floor and is accessed by a spiral staircase. The third-floor features one queen bed and two twin beds, a large TV with DVD player, cable and Roku as well as a beautiful ocean view. The beds convert to day beds so this space is perfect to let the kids take over or as a larger group space for movie or game night. We often just relax up there with a drink, read and watch the ocean.
When you feel like going out, the beach is only 2 blocks away with a several miles long stretch of Oregon coast, perfect for walking, running with the dogs, beach combing, kite flying, etc. After the beach you can walk to one of the many nearby pubs, cafes or restaurants in the neighborhood. Nye Beach also has the area’s best shopping with many of the boutiques featuring local craftsmen and artists. Yaquina Head Lighthouse and State Park is a short drive up the coast. It offers great hiking, extensive tide pools to explore and more beach, as well as the lighthouse tours and an interpretive center. The Oregon Coast Aquarium, Hatfield Marine Science Center (our personal favorite) and Rogue Brewery are just across the bridge and if you're a golfer, Agate Beach Golf Course is just 2 miles from the house. In between all that are a ton of antique shops, galleries and thrift stores offering some of the best antiquing on the Oregon Coast.

The house was beautiful and very clean when we arrived. The location was great to be within walking distance to Nye Beach, but we really couldn’t see the ocean from the 3rd floor. Very quiet location. All in all a great little home!

Fantastic location walkable to beach and shops, very clean and in great condition. Kitchen better appointed than my kitchen at home. Upstairs loft is great for older kids (there is a spiral staircase that needs supervision for little ones, and there is no safety gate at top). Living room is small but cosy.

I stayed at this property with two friends over a long weekend. The house was spotless and cozy. Loved coming home to the fireplace on a rainy day. Only thing missing that we couldn’t find was a hair dryer but we made due. All in all would recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable Newport stay!

Upon arrival the house was very clean, orderly, and well equipped for our stay. We brought our pup with and the house has a dog bed, bowls, blankets, and even pet sheets if you want your pup on the bed! Our kids loved the top floor for hanging out and the main area was great for watching a movie and playing board games at the kitchen table.
The location is amazing! A very short walk to restaurants, shops, and Nye Beach access. Just across from the parking space is the skate park and a playground with a walking path that leads to a baseball field, further enhancing how family and pet friendly the property is. We have already shared the property listing with friends who have younger kids and a dog!

Nice location and unit. A bit more work than I've had to do at other VRBO properties, had to unload dishwasher and dryer upon arrival and load again when leaving. Whoever loaded the dishwasher before we came did it weirdly so there was huge mess when unloading. Also some of the utensils etc were not functional, for example, 3 can openers, none of which worked at all, too rusted to operate, ended up running to Fred Meyer to buy one.

Like a previous reviewer, house was not ready at 4:00 pm. Cleaner was still there. And house was not clean. Dirt, food, debris on floor. Hairs between sheets of master bed. Wet laundry in washer and more to fold in dryer. Tried to contact host about these issues host has been unresponsive.
On the plus side, location is great and the house had sharp knives! Hardly ever find those in a vacation rental.

Master bed and bathroom mirrors were way too high. The house wasn’t ready when we arrived at 4:30. We had to put towels in dryer and kitchen items away ourselves.

We had a great time in Newport. We were able to fit two families in the house with ample space for the adults & kids to hang out. Location was great, very walkable with the skate park & playground right outside. We had a lovely time.

A very nice well stocked comfortable home! Neighbors are close but so quiet! Amazingly pet friendly. Nice to have the park and trail so close and also be very close to all the Nye Beach area has to offer. We missed having an ocean view, but that is just us.

Kids, I, and Cody our mini doodle enjoyed staying here. Everything was clean and plenty of sun through the windows. Kitchen outfitted with plenty of pans n pots, some basic ingredients so I could cook meals without trouble.

Great home with pet accomodations
Very clean and well set up place to stay with kids and pets. Loved the animal set up, fully stocked kitchen, and location directly across from the dog park and playground. Just minutes away from the beach too.

This is a lovely home, with every amenity you could ask for! Keurig, various kitchen items, nice warm fireplace, extremely comfy beds, very clean space, and smelled great, with various close by/walk to restaurants and beach access. Only down side was there was no yard on property for the pups to potty. We had to walk across the street to a nearby open field, which was part of the local skate park. Didn't realize this in selecting location - and this wasn't ideal at all. Also, has metal spiral staircase to the 3rd floor area - which was very cool both aesthetically and for a fun TV comfy room, but was a bit worrisome going up and down as stairs are very steep.
But overall, a lovely space and recommend!

Property Manager is Responsive
We unfortunately did not get to stay at the property due to an outside gas leak. Property Manager had a plumber there quickly to fix the water heater, but unfortunately it was a gas issue that caused the plumbing issue. Property was nice. A bit of an incline and additional steps to get into the house; which made it harder for my mom to access the house. House was clean. There were a few glasses with lipstick, but other than that it would have been great if we were allowed to stay.

Close to Nye Town
The house was clean. We had a problem with the cable for the television downstairs so I called the owner and he got back quickly. He said I should try again and it should work. It didn't work during our entire stay and when I tried calling the owner the following day, he did not call back. We are seniors and the person staying on the bottom floor had a hard time getting to the third floor to watch TV as the stairs are a little tricky so she wasn't able to watch TV. Homes are close together so we didn't want to open the blinds, too. Lastly, because we are seniors, we worried about the three levels and only one entrance/exit in case of an emergency. Otherwise the home was close to the town and we walked there twice.

Comfortable and close to the beach
We really enjoyed staying here. The park across the street was great for our dog. The home was comfortable for our family of 4. The 1 block walk to the beach and restaurants was perfect!

Great location, lot's of space, but poor amenities and cleanliness.
This beachside home is very close to Nye Beach and the surrounding restaurants and attractions--just a short 2 minute walk. The house is not only well-located, but very well equipped especially the kitchen and for infants. However, the description is not accurate in that there is no view of the ocean even from the top floor. And, in fact, there is new construction going up just in front of the home which will definitely obstruct any view. The most disappointing aspect of the home was that it really needs a thorough cleaning--the cabinets were all sticky and the cutlery and dishes also were in need of a thorough cleaning. The master bed (king size) was comfortable, but the sheets and outer linen were very worn and not hotel quality. The second bedroom with a queen bed was quite small and the bed was uncomfortable. The upstairs loft area is quite nice and good for a younger couple, or teens. One really annoying issue was that the entire house had interconnected smoke alarms and the open kitchen often set off the system which was quite loud and impossible to silence.

We had a great time, there is plenty of sleeping space! Love the playground and skatepark across the way! The beds and bedding were very comfortable, super close to the beach. Overall a great getaway for a couple days! Thank you!

Girls Getaway
This house is absolutely ADORABLE!!! Kitchen was fully stocked with any gadget you can think of. House is decorated super cute! King size bed in Master is sooooooooo comfortable, you won't want to leave. Owner was super nice and flexible with accomodating my early check in. Will definitely come back again with the husband and dog as it appears to be pet friendly as well.

no ocean view
We were expecting an ocean view based on the listing "New Home with Ocean View in Historic Nye Beach. Pet Friendly" however that wasn't the case - there is new construction going on from 7:30am to 4:30 pm ~ 30' away and no ocean view at all, blocked by the new homes going up. The place was clean and comfortable, but the noise and lack of view was disappointing. It was nice having a place to walk the dog and it was off the beaten path for traffic.

Great house and excellent location
Brought the grandparents with us and loved the place. Only drove the car two times to go to the aquarium and downtown. Other than that, we just walked to the stores and restaurants nearby at Nye Beach.

The home itself was lovely, although the common living space was small. Proximity to Shops, restaurants and the beach , great. We had not been to Newport to stay before and probably won’t return. The town itself lacks the coastal charm of smaller communities. The home however was terrific.
