Avoid this place, it's a dump

This place is a crack den, not suitable for tourist or families, avoid this place totally. I booked four night but one was enough and I left, this place shouldn't be allowed to advertise on booking. Com

Staff were lovely. Very good place to stay for a short stay in Brighton.

It felt very homely and safe.

The shower kept going boiling hot at some points. But overall it was okay

Nice comfy bed. Tv in room. Complimentary bottle of wine and toiletries in bathrooms. Tea and coffee clean towels nothing is too much trouble.

the owner was fantastic very helpful sorting out issues, bottle of wine & fruit.toiletries

not advertised that tenants live there, who are very loud all hours bit shabby & small, shower a mere trickle, tv tempremental, pins sticking out chairs, bed very squeeky (& not for that reason) wifi on off, knocking on door at 7am, noisy pipes.

Superb

Amazing location, very close to the city centre, beach, bars and cafes. Super lovely and caring service. Even had a sweet suprise in the form of a fruit plate and a bottle of wine waiting for me.

It is very tight, no too much space (which is fine if you don't need much).

rent if you want something cheaper to go to Brighton to spend the day's out.

To be honest it was quite worth renting this room. The owner was super nice and give some recommendations for the area. It's one room super simple but if you only want one place to sleep worth rent for the relation price and quality

only positive thing which I can say was the kindness of owner. He was really nice, but the property was not appropriate for families definitely.

It was a “shared “ bathroom, which in my mind to use the same bath like someone else, who I don’t even know, is just unhygienic and disgusting. The room was under ground and the smell was horrible. So dusty and dirty 🥺 outside was hotter then inside. Despite we booked 2 nights, we just slept there one night (were so tired after 5 hours driving ) and my kid get sick - that cold was it. I would never recommend.

Stressful and unenjoyable, relieved when over, would of cut visit short if it was any longer.

The location was good and there was a complimentary bowl of fruit and bottle of wine.

The room was infested with ants and had to be sprayed with insecticide during my stay. The room wasn't clean when I arrived, there was dried up rice/leftover food on the floor and a part drunk bottle of Fanta under the bed. The kettle would only boil if held down, the TV was faulty and had to be retuned several times. I was kept up until the early hours of the morning on my last night by guests in a nearby room shouting and playing music.

Last minute weekend stay

Owner very kind and attentive throughout our stay. Plenty of tea & coffee available and lovely touches like fresh fruit & bottle of wine in the room on arrival.

Basement room smelt very badly of damp. Accommodation needs a bit of TLC. Appeared to be no cleaning of shared bathroom, should be a priority to clean shared areas due to Covid.

Last minute trip

Philip is wonderful and polite, very accommodating, there were lovely little extras that we weren’t expecting and we really felt looked after. It was very relaxed and that’s just what we needed! Russell Square is a brilliant location, you are so close to the Regency Tavern and round the corner from Molly Malone’s. Great value for money!

You do have to share a bathroom with the other guest house but it actually didn’t bother us at all. Was clean and tidy and we had a wonderful time.

Lovely owner and good value budget hotel

Fantastic service - the owner Phillips goes out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Good value budget hotel. Nice central location close to the beach front. Free fruit basket and a bottle of wine on arrival which was a really nice touch. WiFi was very good. Will stay again - thank you :)

Very small negative but the hair dryer did not work.
