Great location! Short walk to beach, next to community tennis court and playground. Nice beach decor, spacious, open floor plan, very relaxing property. Good communication with the owner. Would definitely rent again.

Our stay couldn't have been better. The owner of the property was friendly and easy to communicate with, the house was clean and well stocked, and Slaughter Beach was a (very!) quick walk away. The house had three bedrooms, plenty of room to lounge around, and lovely wooden bird sculptures hanging from the ceiling and scattered around the living space. We stayed during a heat wave and had no problems with the air conditioning.

Salt marshes and quiet bay beach away from stores and restaurants mark this stay. This beach is nice for walks, looking for weathered stones, away from crowds. No surf while we were there and lots of horseshoe crabs. Other beaches nearby seemed more appealing for swimming. Quick drive to Rehoboth, Lewes, Milton and Milford for shopping and restaurants. The screened porch was nice to look out over the salt marsh. No view of the beach, but it is across the street.

House was great for our family of 7. My husband and I, our 4 children 17,13,10 and 7, and my mother. House has everything needed. Beds are comfortable.Linens are included and the house is well stocked. Washer and dryer was a plus because I hate to come home with a lot of laundry. Air worked perfectly for our week as the weather was amazing. Sunny and hot all week! The Beach is a few steps away. Definitely bring bug spray. Flies and mosquitoes are awful! Carolyn was a pleasure to work with! We loved being tucked away in a very quiet neighborhood. We sat on the deck almost every morning sipping our coffee. We enjoyed the beach by day and fishing from the beach at night. Crabbing down the street off the little bridge. We also fished from the cedar creek boat launch dock. We also enjoyed our visit to the cedar creek farm. Where we visited goats, cows, sheep, chickens, turkey and Guinea hens. They also have bunkers on the property from WW1. Rehoboth and Lewes are a short drive away. Shopping nearby. This was the most relaxing vacation we’ve had in years! So needed. We were happy to see the many upgrades to the house as we had stayed 11 years ago when we only had 2 of our children. Thanks for a wonderful week of memories my family will cherish for years to come. Our pup also enjoyed himself. It was his first vacation with us and sure won’t be his last! Thanks for allowing us to have all of our family with us! We hope to visit again someday as we were all sad to leave!

Home Away From Home
We loved the house but it was not perfect. First, the bad: the door handle for the master bedroom bathroom was missing and the door would not stay open (hazard at night), A/C was inadequate for the whole house (e.g., attic too hot), yard was cluttered, water pressure was too low, and hot water heater was inadequate. Fortunately, there was far more that we thought was great so I gave it a 5 star rating. The good: The decor was very beach-y (loved it), lots of room for us (4 adults and 2 dogs), very short walk to beach (though not a great beach-no lifeguards/too many rocks/lots of dead horseshoe crabs/biting flies), 30 min to Lewes and 40 to Rehoboth depending on traffic (a little far away but we liked being remote), everything we needed to cook was there, quiet neighborhood, large deck where we could watch fireworks, and we liked having HBO Max, Netflix, and Internet access. Also, the owner/managers were very friendly, responsive, and helpful.

Quiet spacious Slaughter beach house with modern kitchen and living area
This is a spacious 2nd floor unit of a house (basically it is a standalone home that has separate vacation units on the 1st and 2nd floors- each with separate entrances). The main level has kitchen, living room, bathroom, 2 bedrooms, and separate family room. The upper floor has bedroom with 2 twin beds and 1 double bed (no bathroom up there). The kitchen and main living room are recently updated with modern appliances, technology (TV) and furnishings. Very nice fridge, sink, countertops etc. The other areas and rooms of the house are clean but furnishings, rug, and finishings quite a bit more dated. For this trip, it was only my husband and I so we basically lived in the one main LR area which was bright, lots of windows and spacious and comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms were all very clean (although showerhead is overdue for a replacement and the ceiling fans could use tune ups (the master bedroom fan was so loud we couldn't use it). The deck was large with lots of seating options, and awesome grill- worked great and was basically brand new. The house is well stocked with glasses, dishware, kitchen accessories etc. and new washer/dryer. You are literally across street from Slaughter beach and there is nice playground for kids, a basketball and tennis court right next door. Slaughter Beach is a very quiet area- which we loved and were looking for. There are not restaurants, shops, ice cream stands, boardwalk etc. nearby-- it's a natural beach on the bay side so a place to appreciate nature on the water.

Slaughter Beach Relaxation
The second-floor apartment has been totally renovated and contains everything anyone would want. The check-in process was easy and no problems were encountered. We were able to reach Carolyn easily by text. Check-out was also no problem. SlaughterBbeach was a good location for us to explore the Delaware coast, midway between Dover and Rehoboth. Plan to do this again.

Perfect for family vacation
The house was very well equipped with everything we needed including beach toys! The location was perfect for our family vacation! The park next door to the house has a playground the kids loved to play at. The beach was a quick walk across a quiet street. Another bonus for the beach access is that it has public restrooms. We highly recommended this property!

Enjoyed our time there
We were in town for a baseball tournament. This property had more than enough room for our party and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The house is in a beautiful peaceful spot. The location would have been perfect for morning or evening walks on the beach, unfortunately we weren’t able to enjoy this because it was so hot out nobody wanted to be outside. But the screened porch also made a great spot to enjoy morning and evenings. It’s also a short drive to shops and Rehoboth.

Slaughter beach gem
This was a great stay and I would definitely return. It's a beautiful home right across the street from the beach. So, the location was ideal. And there was more than enough space for our group comprised of 3 children and 4 adults. It was truly a relaxing experience that provided all the amenities needed to make a getaway a getaway!

Spacious and Relaxing!
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home in Slaughter Beach! The home itself, as well as the area, was very relaxing. Just across the street from a quiet beach and pavilion with picnic tables. The check in process was simple, our host was extremely friendly and communicative, and we had everything we could ever need at the house. The home is very spacious and comfortable and the location worked out well for our needs - we were splitting our time between Dover and the southern Delaware beaches so it was a good middle point. Overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend this home for groups and families!

With three teenagers there was plenty of room for all even for my wife and I. Will be doing it again
We spent a full week and realized there is plenty of fun at the bay. And we were only a short drive from Rehobeth Beach and boardwalk. Milford itself had a lot To offer eating wise. Carolyn and Richard are excellent people to ask questions and always got back to us in a short period of time if we had anything to ask. They are very personable also. I highly recommend this home, it was clean and had plenty of room for all of us and gave us privacy also. The fishing was awesome also, two sharks and two blue fish right out of the bay. We will be returning here in the near future. Brian Peters

Perfect for us!
The owner 100% on top of everything. We rented the house because we were attending an event at the DE Sports Complex which was only 10 minutes away. It was very convenient. The place was clean, & comfortable. The new kitchen was fantastic to cook in with everything you could possibly need. I would definitely go back if we find ourselves back in Delaware again.

Huge space, lots of bedrooms for a big family
We went with our family, and we had more than enough beds and bedrooms (6 bedrooms). The renovated living room and kitchen look absolutely great and modern. Big dining table there so we could all eat together inside. The renovations are continuing and when the 2nd deck is open, that will be a really amazing space.
We also took our babies, so it was really nice that you couldn't hear the babies crying if you were upstairs (or vice versa). We didn't want to bother our family, who wanted to sleep in on vacation. On hot days, we were able to use the pool table downstairs, and then for dinner sit in the screened in porch so that we were safe from bugs.
Good location in that you are across the street from the beach. It's a really private and quiet beach so very relaxing to just walk, and even take your dog. There is also a park right next to the house with a tennis court and a small basketball court and I think some swings or play equipment for smaller kids. The host is very accessible and texted us back immediately if we had questions.
