About this house rental
Non- smoking property. NO SMOKING OR VAPING INSIDE. Non- smokers only, please. No vaping indoors, please. Our house is a licensed vacation rental, in full compliance with area ordinances.
This single-story home with five stairs to the entrance offers comfort and charm from the moment you enter. It is just a two-minute walk down the street to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve & bluff headland walking trails, where you can walk all the way to see the ocean along the Ranch trail. The most outstanding natural feature of the preserve is the dramatic ocean bluff that runs more than a mile along the shoreline that rests within the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary where in season you can view migrating whales, elephant seals and other ocean mammals. It is a short 1.5 mile drive to Cambria East Village, a .9 mile drive (or walk!) to the Harvey Street public beach access at Sherwood Avenue , and about 2.7 miles to the popular Shamel Park and Beach area.
This completely updated, single level home is beautiful. Bamboo-look flooring is accentuated by high baseboards, and custom painted walls are topped by crown molding. The kitchen and bathrooms have been updated, with granite counters in the former and slate and stone in the latter. You will find an open floor plan featuring a sun-filled living and dining area. Handcrafted woodwork can be seen on the artistic front door and guest bathroom mirror, and unique touches are visible throughout the entire house. Skylights and unusual light fixtures make even looking up enjoyable. New dual pane windows are covered by new plantation shutters. The backyard has a large deck, lots of beautiful vegetation, and a few rustic outbuildings. Enjoy a soak in the hot tub after days of combing the beach and hiking the trails and shopping downtown. Our front is a view of wooded, vacant lots and the wildlife that enjoys open space in Cambria. You will fall in love with this home!
Enjoy the Keurig, coffee maker, wonderful kitchen pots and pans and everything you could possibly need to cook and bake. Please bring your own coffee pods or ground coffee; filters provided. The freezer has an ice maker and there is water in the refrigerator door.
There are games and puzzles and books. Our home also offers cable Wi-Fi if you have to bring your work with you or just want to stay connected. Cell phone service isn't great anywhere in Cambria, so we offer a home phone for your use. You can also connect your cell phone to the Wi-Fi and enable Wi-Fi calling/texting and not miss out.
There are four Smart TVs in this house. There's one in the living room, and there is one in each bedroom. You can log into your own accounts on any of the TVs to stream and watch your favorite shows and movies! There is comfortable seating for 6 people in the living room. There are two amazing recliners, and the two ends of the leather sofa recline! It's a perfect room for relaxing in after a wonderful day out and about.
Two of the bedrooms offer California king size beds. The 3rd bedroom has twin beds for flexibility in sleeping arrangements. All the beds & mattresses are new, very comfortable & have beautiful bedding designed for a peaceful sleeping experience. All three bedrooms have ceiling fan in case you want to get those cool ocean breezes circulating. 99%+ homes in this area do not have air conditioning, so ceiling fans are an added bonus if you need a little cooler air.
Front entry area of the home has a wonderful porch from where you can watch the deer, squirrels, Blue Jays, redheaded woodpeckers, wild turkeys, and other wildlife in the vacant lots across the streets. We have bird feeders and squirrel feeders in the front and backyard, so bring some unsalted peanuts in the shell and or bird food to enjoy the beautiful birds and critters feeding! The front and back have pretty landscaping and have plenty of sweet places to sit & enjoy the landscaping or take in the sea air. Enjoy the 6-person hot tub in the beautiful back yard and outside dining table and chairs. Backyard is completely fenced in. There is also a "secret room" in the backyard with a gas stove fireplace. Enjoy a glass of wine by the fire outside in the cool evenings!
Come & enjoy the peace & tranquility our home has to offer along with sunsets, good cheer & memories to be made with each other or with friends while exploring all that Cambria & the Central Coast has to offer.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was just as described, very spacious both inside and outside. It was dog friendly and a lovely place to relax with friends.

Great condition. Very comfortable for us and our Golden Doodle. Maggie our dog loved all the trails. We love Cambia. Everything we used in the house worked perfectly.
Some comments: replace the toilet seat in the guest bathroom. Backyard could use landscaping

House is very nice. Was surprised things not provided. No coffee. 1 roll of tp. No kleenex boxes. No water. Hot tub did not heat up. I've had much more at others. Spoiled I guess.

We loved our time at this house. The house was spacious and comfortable for my family and grandmother. The hot tub was a plus as well as the BBQ. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved being able to play cards on the large dining table. The sitting area was perfect, everyone was comfy and no one was left out. The location was perfect for us. An easy drive into town, and the park was accessible at the end of the street on foot. We have family in Cambria and will definitely book this house again for our next visit!

Everything was great. We extended our stay one additional day. A bit of a problem with the short, steep driveway as we had to load/unload at an angle. It would be a big help if the flat garage was available. My husband missed his news channels. I loved the mirrors.....thinning lol. Will probably rent again.

My college friends and I truly enjoyed our relaxing vacation. The house was perfect!

We love Cambria and had a wonderful time in the shops and restaurants. Everyone was so hospitable.
The house was perfect with the location, the outdoor porch was adorable as was the house. It had a hot tub and outside fire pit which we didn’t use but a nice touch if we had stayed longer.
Everything was clean, there were plenty dishes and pots and pans. The shower pressure was good and the heater worked just like at home.
The decor was tasteful and we walked around the house looking at all the paintings and little accessories. Just loved it!
We would definitely come back and one of our girls are going to look at it for her family gathering.

The home was a perfect choice for our family of 6. Close to the main road and very close to a neat park where you can take a long walk in a forest.

This place was perfect for our family meetup. The children, ages 8 and 10, loved the decorations in the kids' room. They appreciated the squirrel theme of the house, as their favorite activity in Cambria is feeding squirrels peanuts. The front porch is a lovely place to sit and the hot tub very welcome. Thank you!

This house was perfect for our 2 day getaway to Cambria. It was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. We loved that the owner had put in a lighted Christmas tree and wreath! The location was ideal, in a very quiet neighborhood, with an open lot across the street. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the morning, drinking coffee and viewing the hummingbirds in the front yard. The owner easy to work with and was very responsive to any questions or concerns. We plan to stay here next time we are in the area and highly recommend it for anyone wanting to come and explore to the Cambria area.

This home was a perfect overnight stay for the Christmas Market Light display.

Had a great time with all we needed. Tip for other guests: screenshot check in instructions and WiFi info BEFORE arriving in the area. Cell reception is poor near the home, so this will save you having to drive back out to the highway to get reception to look up the instructions for getting in or accessing WiFi to look it up.

This is our 3rd time staying at this property and it suits our needs well. We always enjoy stays here as it is centrally located which allows us to explore the entire central coast area from the Paso Robles wine country, to Hearst Castle and above as well as to Pismo Beach and all areas in between. You will need to bring your own Keurig pods or ground coffee (2coffee systems provided) and laundry detergent if you plan on doing laundry. We were fortunate that charcoal was left there by previous renters but I’m not sure if that is usually provided by the owner. The kitchen has pretty much all one needs to prepare meals as far as cookware, dishes and some spices. Overall a great spot in Cambria.

This house was the perfect spot for four friends having a fun trip to Hearst Castle and Cambria. Located only 5 minute drive from the town, we loved being close to all the shops.
The hot tub was lovely. Katy let us know about the color of the water and it was not any problem to use. My friends and I relaxed and enjoyed the quiet deck while we soaked.
Perfect house to enjoy Cambria, Moonstone Beach and Hearst Castle.

The house has been remodeled, grateful for leather couch and chairs (not old fabric). The master bedroom en suite bath is very small, the smallest pedestal sink I've ever seen! BUT it is loaded with mirrors, even a magnifying mirror for makeup, and you can angle all the mirrors to see the back of your hair, great for the gals. That bathroom could use a regular door tho with a hook on the back, I had no place to hang my bathrobe. The 2 bathrooms both had those rainwater type showerheads, not great pressure, and I felt badly using more water because it took longer because of that. Cambria is always having a water scenario. Could have used kleenex in the bathroom. Bring your own. The TV in the master bedroom is NOT hooked up to the cable box in there, so don't get confused when you see the cable remote. It is missing the cable from the box to the TV. But what you can watch is Vizio programmed apps (very few). Directions are not in the house manual, just push the V button on the remote and apps will appear you can scroll thru. If you use Netflix, don't forget to log out of the device online when you leave The other 2 bedrooms have skylights that get bright in the morning, so if you are a late sleeper, may want to bring a piece of cardboard to tape over them, or a sleeping mask. Walking distance to Fiscilini trails. Would have liked dish soap and dish rack to hand wash dishes, I only used 2. Bad cell phone area, so had to contact agent via VRBO. AC and heat worked.

We met family from Oregon to celebrate my brother’s 70th birthday. The house was perfect and we found the backyard to be very charming. We ate our dinners out on the patio. We loved the nearby Preserve for wonderful walks. The house was perfectly stocked with all the amenities we needed. Thanks so much.

Private and clean
5.0 / 5.0
The house was very clean, attractive, and nicely equipped/decorated. It was amazingly quiet and comfortable. The owner/manager (Katy) was also very professional and easy to reach.
There were only a few small issues noted, including a short, steep driveway which made navigating car doors and luggage a struggle, the right refrigerator door kept popping open on its own, and a broken dishwasher - which did not affect us, as we had no plans to use it anyway.
The neighborhood is very nice, woodsy, and easily accessible to the Fiscalini Reserve trails. Waking just a couple of blocks brings both nice ocean and forest views. The TV’s were difficult to use, but we had little interest in using them. The wifi system worked OK but runs a little slow at just 100 Mbps.
We are happy to recommend this house for both short and extended stays.

Home was perfect for a quick getaway to Cambria. Three spacious bedrooms with large living room and kitchen fit our family of 5 perfectly. Our kids especially enjoyed the hot tub and games/puzzles. We liked the large front porch with rocking chairs and the peaceful backyard. It's a short drive to the beach and the town of Cambria. We will definitely stay here again.

My only disappointment is that I did not book Lodge Hill for a longer stay.
The house exceeded our expectations. It was nicely decorated, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Except for one dinner at Robin's (highly recommended), we cooked all meals during our stay and found the kitchen to be well equipped.
The beds were very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. The location was perfect for our needs. Each day we hiked through the beautiful pine forest to the coast; the hiking trails were a short walk from the front door.
Katy left good communication about the house. When I texted Katy with a question, she respond immediately.
I hesitate to give Lodge Hill an excellent review. What if everyone wants to stay there? Selfishly, I hope the next time I want to book the house it will be available!

Owner was responsive and courteous property was so cute and spacious and clean. Whole experience was easy and carefree. Short drive like 2 minutes or nice walk to ocean. Hop skip and jump from Morro Bay. Will absolutely stay again.
The only improvement I could say is the spa could be cleaner I couldn’t find a net to fish out the leaves and such. Maybe the filter needs changing. I used it anyway and showered right after.

We booked this lovely home nicknamed "Squirrel House" for a family vacation joined by our adult children. The house was beautiful, very clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we could want.
We cooked all of our meals at the house, using the oven, stove, and large Weber charcoal BBQ on the back deck. All the pots, pans, utensils, etc. needed were at hand.
Saw wild turkeys and deer in the neighborhood...the deer even boldly adventuring into the front driveway. Nice that a wooded vacant lot is directly across the street.
The house is very conveniently located to Fiscalini Ranch, just a few blocks from one entrance, although we preferred to drive a short distance to the Bluff Trail entrance. Loved watching the harbor seals and sea otters from the bluffs.
Other attractions were conveniently close: downtown Cambria about a 5 minute drive, and Hearst Castle and the elephant seals about 20 minutes away. Our daughter's favorite was Moonstone Beach at the north end of Cambria where we saw the beautiful stones.
The living room had very comfortable leather furniture, just right for viewing streaming TV shows and movies. The dining table was perfect for our group of 6.
My wife, in particular, appreciated that the backyard was enclosed and safe for our 2 small dogs to explore.
Thank you, Katy, for allowing us to stay on your beautiful home and for your unobtrusive hospitality! We would love to visit again.

We had a great time at the adorable cottage in Cambria. We had plenty of room to relax and enjoy each others company. We saw wild turkeys and many deer right across the road from the house which enhanced the tranquil atmosphere. The back yard was lush with beautiful plants and flowers and we enjoyed soaking in the hot tub and enjoying the fragrance. Beds were very comfy and the kitchen has every thing we needed. We were five to ten minutes away from downtown Cambria and only 15 minutes from Hearst Castle. I highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful place, wonderful location. Very clean and tidy.
Plenty of room for five ladies for a weekend getaway.
We used the hot tub without any problems.
Highly recommend!
4.0 / 5.0
We enjoyed our stay - lots of room, storage and comfortable beds. Highly recommended but not 5 star. Stairs to house are mentioned but steepness of the driving was challenging with luggage for us seniors. Lighting made reading after dark difficult. Entrance to Fiscalini down the street.
5.0 / 5.0
This home in Cambria exceeded our expectations in size and comfort. I was afraid the floors would be too slippery for our little older dog but no issues with that as the bamboo had traction. Wish I had them I my own home. We had an issue with cell service basically it was non existent and the home phone was not working. That left us feeling very vulnerable even with the Wi-Fi working well. We let the owner know so I’m sure this issue will be addressed. There were a lot of pots and pans for cooking. Just bring whatever condiments, laundry soap, extra paper towels etc. the hot tub looked clean but had no chemical smell so we ended up not using. Sure it’s fine but not taking any chances. The area is so convenient and pretty. We were so lucky to be able to see elephant seals giving birth just up north. We love this area as Cambria has such magnificent natural beauty. Wish the days were longer!
