La déception de nos 10 jours au Costa Rica

L’emplacement

Par où commencer.. La chambre loin d’être propre (rasoir usagé laissé dans la douche, boule de cheveux par terre) et vétuste! un grand rafraîchissement serait à prévoir avec une étagère dans la SdB pour pouvoir poser sa trousse de toilettes L’hôtel dans son ensemble également vétuste, un canapé dans le coin restaurant qui nécessiterait d’être changer vu l’odeur qu’il dégage Enfin, le personnel, peu souriant, et qui ne sait visiblement pas dire au moins « bonjour » quand il vous croise. Bref, on aurait du passer notre chemin

El hotel está bien para estancias cortas, el desayuno estuvo bien, la comida estuvo rica, la habitación es limpia con lo básico.

Necesita un mantenimiento general, el Lugar tiene mucho potencial, es solo darle unos toques y puede ser genial .

Le pire hôtel depuis longtemps l

L’emplacement et la nature autour.

Le wifi ne fonctionnait pas dans la chambre, il fallait aller dans la salle à manger. Il n’y avait pas assez de pression d’eau dans la salle de bain pour la douche et au robinet ni pour tirer la toilette. Le personnel ne faisait pas la chambre le matin, sauf sur demande à condition qu’il y ait quelqu’un à la réception… L’eau de la piscine était trouble était le fond était sale. Le petit déjeuner est horrible, les œufs brouillés sont de couleur vert de gris, le gallo pinto (riz et haricots) est parfois bon mais ça dépend du cuisinier (s’il y a un cuisinier?). Il n’y a pas eu de glace pour les boissons durant les 3 jours où nous avons séjourné à l’hôtel Bongo! Bref, je n’avais pas séjourner dans un si mauvais hôtel longtemps et je ne recommande absolument pas cet établissement.

Not worth it

There is a lot of green and wild animals. Monkeys are howling around 4am in the morning, if this bothers you don’t go there.

The hotel is far away, up on a hill. The bald guy from reception is a pain in the neck and condescending. We got a double room with kitchen and once we got there the room was very smelly, not clean, and there was no shower gel. We asked for another room and we were downgraded because apparently there was no other room available. We did not receive a refund whatsoever saying that the room we booked was already cheap. This is a faux 4* hotel, not worth the money. Oh, and the breakfast is horrible.

Heerlijk verblijf!

Mooie ruime kamer. Fijn dat er een koelkast en airco aanwezig waren. Het zwembad was heerlijk en heel rustig. Fijn dat er een restaurant aanwezig was: ‘s avonds hebben ze een kleine Mexicaanse menukaart. Het ontbijt was heerlijk, maar bij drukte moest je wel vaak wachten omdat het op was.

Wifi viel vaak weg in de kamer, maar bij het restaurant was het goed.

Jungle vibes, amazing wildlife, basic rooms

We really liked the location as we had a car though if you don’t it would be a little more tricky to get to and then get around from. The outdoor area is just beautiful, we felt like we were in the middle of the jungle and there is so much wildlife to see all day and night with iguanas and monkeys around the pool and Macaws in the trees! The pools are open at night which was nice and the loungers are very comfy. Adrian on reception was fantastic and recommended a good tour for the national park (Jades) he helped us book and arrange that. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Safe and secure parking though I don’t recall there being step free access from the carpark to the reception or rooms. The restaurant area is very large and clean, we sat there in the evenings playing games and having beers.

The overall property is wonderful and the rooms are a good size with little porches though very basic inside, especially the bathrooms which really do need some TLC and a do up. Our sliding door wasn’t overly secure as the lock rattled and so was tricky to use at times. The lunch/evening food menu is super basic and tricky for a vegetarian, given that there’s not a lot around there it would be good to have more choice. The breakfast was tasty but again, pretty limited choice for someone that doesn’t eat meat. Our tour pickup was at 6.45am and breakfast starts at 7- as a lot of people are in the area to do the national park tours it would be good for breakfast to start a little earlier to eat before they leave for the day. WiFi is really patchy here which wasn’t a problem for us at all and goes hand in hand with the lovely location but for anyone that needs it for work etc…it’s quite unreliable. There’s a little restaurant around the corner walking distance that I can’t recall the name of but it was some of the worst food we had the whole time we were away so I wouldn’t recommend it at all. If bongo could offer more extensive food menus it would have been brilliant!

nettes Hotel, manches gehört renoviert.

Das Hotel liegt an einer Hanglange und ist sehr nett aufgeteilt. Das Pool ist sehr sauber, Handtücher bekommt man jederzeit. Die Busstation nach Manuel Antonio liegt in Gehweite.

Das Frühstück ist eher karg und einseitig aber ausreichend. Die Zimmer werden nur gesäubert, wenn am an der Rezeption Bescheid gibt. Im Zimmer gibt es keine Kofferablage, man muss die Koffer am Boden lagern.

Huge and pretty hotel Nice pools and excellent staff. Saw a group of scarlet macaws that flew a few meters above us to a tree near us, beautiful.

The location is really uncomfortable if you do not have a car. Sort of a deal breaker if you ask me.

Loved all the wildlife around us (a sloth, birds, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, squirrel monkeys).

A pastoral vacation at Bongo

Welcoming staff, a simple but very pleasant room with an outdoor balcony open to nature and I saw iguana. There is a bus stop nearby to get anywhere in the vicinity. I got a vegan friendly breakfast. I enjoyed to stay at Bongo hotel!

At first I had trouble locking the door, it's a bit tricky but it worked out. There is no safe in the room.

Lovely spot

The best thing was watching the wildlife at breakfast. They have macaws in the grounds which are fabulous to watch. Good breakfast and very friendly staff. We took the hike to the secluded beach, the path is just behind the hotel. A decent walk and a scramble at the end but well worth it.

highly recommended this hotel if you are visiting Manuel Antonio National Park

Location made you feel like you were up on the jungle, the staff was helpful and friendly, rooms were clean, AC and hot shower working, delicious breakfast. Parking was close and easy. You can see more animals on property than in the national park!

Such kind, considerate owners/staff. Views and wildlife especially the parrots where Incredible and the breakfast was the perfect way to welcome us on our first few days in Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Pool was being renovated BUT we had pre warning and were able to cancel free off charge if we preferred or have a discount. We didn't want to miss the location so stayed and so glad we did 🥰🥰

Beautiful place to stay and relax

Rooms were comfortable with a little terrace. It was clean and the air conditioning worked fine. Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious Staff was kind and very friendly. The owner drove us to the bus station in town free of charge Lots of wild life to see on the grounds

Comfortable bungalows in a beautiful location

The hotel area is beautiful and feels like it’s in the jungle. We spotted monkeys and macaws from our room. The bungalow was equipped with airconditioning and a mini fridge, both much appreciated in the hot Quepos area. The hotel was only a few 100m from the bus stop, so it was also very easy to reach and go to/from Manuel Antonio or Quepos. The road to La Macha beach starts at the hotel entrance and after a short walk you end up at a beautiful beach (with no one else around when we visited).

One of the best hotel of my whole vacation

Location was beautiful. Loved the pool with warm water available at all hours. Breakfast was only one choice, which changes every day and it's always delicious and pretty satisfying.. The staff has always been very kind. We saw. Monkeys during breakfast 😁

The size of the room is obviously wrong on Booking. I would say the room we were in was roughly 15-20 square meters
