Prachtig guesthouse met geweldige kamers

Alles!

Very quiet and helpful team
Wonderful internal garden had no ventilation so was unbearably hot

The entire property is just so lovely. A little oasis.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but beautifully decored and very clean.
The outside front terrace is so lovely to sit and relax.
The staff are super helpful and very pleasant to deal with. English for some of them is a struggle, but one can always get around that.
The Manager helped us with a private driver, various ticket purchasing, etc. Very professional.
Coffee, tea, and little snacks are available - for free - all the time.

The hotel was so beautiful! We loved hanging out in the courtyard and on the front porch. Delicious breakfast every morning, and the staff was very nice. Overall a great place to stay!

Friendly staff, calm street. In a lively neighborhood.

It is a very nice, quiet and clean place. The room are comfortable and the staff is very nice. Good indonesian breakfast and Good WiFi. They even thought about my birthday.😀
To the centre of town we took all the time a Crab taxi. It is not in the centre of Yogyarkarta.

We loved the charm of this guesthouse. The vintage aesthetics, architecture of this place and the furniture were awesome. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. Beautiful atmosphere inside and outside the guesthouse. The service was exceptional as well. Would definitely send a friend there.
Please upgrade internet capacity.
For my kids and I, actually we enjoyed for not having great connection because we can play together without being disturbing by gadget.
But unfortunately for my husband who had to do some meeting during our stay... it was quite challenging.

Very beautiful place with delicious breakfast! The front terrace is lovely to hang out on.
Very quiet street too, no noise from traffic.
Cash only is accepted, you can not pay by credit card. As a foreign tourist, this is a pain because of the additional cost for cash withdrawals. If you stay multiple nights, you will have to withdraw multiple times as ATM withdrawals are limited to 2 000 000 idr.
If you want to experience Yogya's bars in the evening, this place is a bit far. You can easily and cheaply get a taxi, but being at walking distance would've been nicer for us.

The place was beautiful and extremely well maintained. It was serene and has a fully covered courtyard in the the center where you can eat breakfast or have tea every morning (the photos on the site are very accurate). The individually-portioned breakfast was awesome, very generous, and changed on a daily basis. I also loved the fresh ginger tea they served in the evenings. In terms of location, you can get to Malioboro via a $2 cab ride (or you can walk 20-30min to get there). It's super easy to get cabs in Yogyakarta. There's also a convenience store right outside on the main road, and the guest house is a 3min walk away from Tempo Gelato (a popular dessert place). The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Bambang, who is such a kind person and always there when we needed something.
Everything was great. No complaints.

This is a lovely guest house with a lot of attention given to make a beautiful, calm environment to welcome guests and to make them feel comfortable. As mentioned by a previous guest, the owner of the guest house was very nice, and keen to make our stay enjoyable. The guest house is in a quiet street conveniently only around 20-25 minutes walk from the old (and huge!) Beringharjo Market at the southern end of Malioboro Street. From there it is not far to other notable places to visit in the centre of the city.
The duvets initially provided for the beds were rather thick and it would have been nice to have a more versatile range of bedding on hand.

The staff was very welcoming and super helpful. The breakfasts were excellent and different every day, so there was a good variety. The house is also beautifully decorated. Location was good — close enough to much of the action, while being in a quiet part of town.
The bathroom wasn't so clean. The day we checked in, the drain was clogged with hair from the previous guest and we had to ask the staff to unclog it. The corners of the shower stall had grime. The bed and mattress were quite creaky and squeaky. Not the most comfortable for us.

On our first morning, an Indonesian breakfast, but after that we had a very good omlette
Wi Fi good in common areas, but not great in room

What a find!! Gorgeous guest house with incredible staff, comfortable beds, VERY clean rooms, great showers, good snacks and drinks 24/7. No detail was spared. I traveled with my mom, who is very particular, and she was RAVING about how wonderful this guest house was throughout the rest of our trip.

This beautiful guest house is run by a most lovely man. Bambang was an attentive host, speaks excellent English, and is always willing to help out with whatever you might need. The house has various sitting areas inside and out, a koi pond, and is on a quiet lane just off a main street with shops, restaurants, etc. A huge and delicious Indonesian breakfast is provided (and is different every day!), plus there are free 24 hour snacks and drinks. Also we hired an English speaking guide and driver to take us to our next stay at Borobudur for a very reasonable price. He lives right next door.
If anything could have been better, I would suggest an improvement in the quality of the bedding.

Very comfortable bed, very clean and very friendly and helpfull owner
Breakfast is very big and good but only indonesian food so be prepared for chicken satay in the moorning :D
As ofter in Indonesia, a mosq is close by and you hear the pray at 4am but with ear plug you're OK :-)
Location is 2-3km away from the centre but calling a grab is very cheap

had the loveliest time here. everyone was really kind and took it upon themselves to quietly make sure all our needs were taken care of. the small touches really make a difference - local snacks and fresh fruit are available all day, as is an ever-refilling flask of hot ginger tea. rooms are made up completely fresh before you return, water replenished, etc. - not always a given in jogja!
breakfast was fresh and varied. the house itself is gorgeous, featuring lots of beautifully hand-carved wood. our rooms were clean, comfortable, and tasteful. we stayed in a few similarly priced places in the city before this, and Rumah Jawa was the most meticulously maintained and thoughtfully designed by far.
we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Yogyakarta. it has the best of both worlds - the warmth and personality of a guest house and the consistent quality standards of a hotel.

The guest house is just beautiful and extremely clean. The staff was so nice and super helpful with anything. They prepare the freshest and best Indonesian breakfast! Everything was a blast! Would definitely always stay there again. They even let me have a late check out due to my super late train departure.
Everything was great.

Lovely guest house with friendly owner. It has a beautiful inner yard and the most delicious and big breakfast portions.
The windows of the room are facing the inner yard so there is no real day light.
Cleanliness of the room was also so-so, however the owner is very kind and willing to help

Stunningly beautiful traditional Javanese house, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic balcony. Location was fairly central but a bit of a walk to main attractions away from most tourist neighborhoods. I really liked the setting in a more traditional Yogya neighborhood. The owner and his staff were super helpful and friendly... always serving interesting traditional Javanese food and they even helped me fix my broken sandals!

The guesthouse is lovely and extremely well decorated with carved handpainted wood, lots of plants and a pond. The host was extremely kind and attentive and breakfast was outstanding traditional Indonesian. Thank you!

Rumah Jawa felt like home far away from home with comfy room, beautiful garden, traditional snack and drinks that are available for 24 hours and friendly staffs and owners who would extend their hospitality to ensure I had memorable stay.
The guest house is close to main attractions and good restaurants but still quiet & peaceful as it's tucked away in an alley, far enough to hear the main street noises.
Will definitely come back again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel service was excellent and the staff were friendly as well.
The road leading to the hotel was narrow.
