About this house rental
The Stone House is a unique place, which is what drew us to it. Nice views, large fenced yard and plenty of room for a family or couples. The property is above most of the neighbors, so you get privacy and a view out to the lake. Lots of room to park and a large flat front yard.
Just to be clear, we have a view of the lake but no private access to the shore. Public beach and boat launch available at Smith Park just 1/2 a mile south. We are also pet free, no exceptions for any reason.
An open floor plan on the main floor flows from the gourmet kitchen into the dining room, alcove, and into the living room with gas fireplace and a wall of windows looking out to the backyard so it feels uncrowded even with a dozen people milling around the kitchen and dining area. Outside the back door is the BBQ, fire pit, and hot tub overlooking the lake. All new or like new furniture, no worn out old couches. We tried to give the place a warm traditional lake house feel.
There is a master suite with king bed and bathroom with shower and clawfoot tub and en-suite bath on the second floor. Down the hall is a large back bedroom with king bed and a small room with a queen bed across from the master. Two more full bathrooms, one upstairs and one off kitchen. We list it as 3 bedrooms, but there is also a downstairs TV room off the kitchen with new, comfortable queen sofa bed and a small kids size playroom off living room with 2 twin Aerobed mattresses for overflow. The washer and dryer are off the kitchen. We have town water, not a well, so no sulfur smell or bad taste, which can be an issue in this area.
The kitchen is fully equipped with service for 12. If you like to cook, it's really well laid out with a Viking stove, center island for prep and a large refrigerator with ice maker and dishwasher. We regularly have 3 or 4 people in there cooking. Coffee maker, coffee grinder, French Coffee Press, Electric Tea Pot, Pannini press, Blender, Crockpot, mixer, full set of sharp knives, utensils, pots pans and bake-ware, even an electric corkscrew.
The BBQ in back yard is connected to house propane, no tanks to go get filled and it won't go empty in the middle of making dinner. We also include full set of non-breakable plates bowls etc. for backyard use or children.
In warm weather, the back door swings all the way open and the old-fashioned wood screen door to the backyard makes access easy and the classic lake-house wood screen door noise as it closes.. Living room windows front and rear are huge sliders, so the breeze flows through and when the summer heat sets in, brand new Mitsubishi split air conditioning in every bedroom and TV room. Downstairs remains cool from the other units.

This home was perfect for our group of 3 adults. We made the trip to visit wineries, and the location of this home was perfect. The home was clean and welcoming as well as very comfortable. And there was plenty of room. The homeowner was also very responsive and helpful. I’d recommend a stay here!

Private roomy home overlooking Seneca Lake. Well equipped kitchen with updated bathrooms and bedrooms. Enjoyed the firepit area and large hot tub. Location is excellent if you’re staying for a long weekend. Short drive to Watkins Glen. Right in the midst of several casual style wineries and breweries, many with live music and activities for the kids. If we’re ever in the area again we’ll be sure to rent this property.

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy a girl's weekend in your home. We loved that the hot tub/yard is positioned to overlook the lake, and that it's located only a few minutes from several wineries and breweries. The quaint rooms and small touches around the house were incredibly welcoming, and we've already talked about coming back to this very house next time!
There's plenty of space if multiple families were to visit together, and the hosts made it very homey upon entry.
Plenty of parking as well for multiple vehicles. The hosts were also very pleasant to communicate with and available for any questions we had. Definitely recommend this beauty if you're looking to visit the Finger Lakes!

We just loved our stay at Dave and Linda’s property! The house was clean, spacious, thoughtfully decorated, and centrally located amongst many wineries and eateries. The hot tub was huge and such an amazing feature. The yard was also well kept, spacious, and had plenty of seating, multiple swings/hammocks, and a beautiful fire pit.
We definitely plan to stay here again when we return to the finger lakes!

Enjoyed our stay for a long family weekend (4 adults and there would have been room for several more!) Lovely location and well cared-for property. Host was easy to reach when we had a question.

A fabulous house tucked away near Seneca Lake. Easy trips for swimming, kayaking, hiking. Seneca Falls and Ithaca were easy day trips. And the hot tub at the end!!

Our family stayed here due to close proximity to other family members for family reunion. The house was large enough to fit my family. The younger kids loved the hot tub and the yard. One evening we had all family members (20) there for dinner, plenty of room. The 3 bathrooms was a blessing. This house was wonderful.

There were seven ladies in our group all 50+. The property was set back and while we passed it the first time, there is a number sign on the fence. Having rented previously, I will say this is one of the best outfitted house when it comes to utensils and kitchenware. We cooked breakfast and some great dinners there. I have stayed at places that sleep 10 but only have utensils for 7. We took full advantage of the grill, hot tub, and fire pit. It was cool enough to have the windows open. Only sticking point for us was the front door. We struggled getting it to lock and actually went out the back a couple times after locking the front from inside. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us, not to mention 3 bathrooms and plenty of mirrors helped us get ready for the wine tour we booked. It’s also a great location on proximity to wineries, breweries and distilleries.
We would absolutely rent again!

Perfect Getaway
This house is fantastic! There were 2 couples, one with an 8 year-old and 12 year-old, and another older adult. It was spacious inside and out, so that we had plenty of room to eat, play games, or sit around the fire pit together or retreat to our own rooms/areas when we wanted some alone time. It's a convenient location to go to the different lakes, Watkins Glen , Ithaca, or other day trips. We went to Belhurst castle (beautiful, but can only tour if you stay or eat there); Seneca Lake SP, where there's a splash park; Watkins Glen; Keuka Lake to kayak; Letchworth SP and Hidden Valley Safari; Taughannock Falls, Ithaca, and Enfield and Lucifer Falls (amazing) in Robert H. Treman SP, and we wanted to do so much more. Such a great area, and a fantastic house!!!

Our stay
The location of the house is perfect for visiting all the wineries and breweries. The bathrooms, kitchen, and bedrooms were clean. The rest of the house didn't look like it had been dusted in awhile, lots of cobwebs. The landscaping had not been done in several weeks. Gutters full of tree dirt, yard not mowed. But I dont mean this review as criticism, just informational to the home owners.

Waterfalls and Wine e
We loved this stone cottage. It was old and rustic and just what we wanted. We were looking for hiking to waterfalls in the mornings and visiting wineries in the afternoon and this place was a perfect location, close to both. Owner was quick to reply to any questions I had and super friendly. Would definitely come back!

Family vacation
The Stone House was the perfect base for our vacation to the region. The house was clean, comfortable and relaxing. Cooking on the Viking stove was lovely. The yard was private and while there wasn’t a direct view of the lake, it was always peaking out between the trees.

Great Fun In the Finger Lakes
We stayed here for a week in July with friends and had a great time. The house has lots of room, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook the meals that we had while we were there. The location is perfect to enjoy the best activities of the Finger Lakes Region. Close to Lakes, Wineries, Waterfalls etc. We were a little worried about it having no central AC, but as described, the several units did keep the house comfortable upstairs and down. The owners were welcoming and great to work with. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your house.

Fall getaway
The house was really nice and the view from the back was very pretty. The are lots of trees but you get afternoon sun and sunset. Kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the hot tub! But you can't see many stars because of the trees. Beds and furniture we comfortable and nice. It was more house than we needed for just my husband and I but it was nice to have room to stretch out and relax every day. The hosts were great and answered my call immediately when I had an small issue getting the fireplace started. Overall I would come back to this home again next time we are in the region.

Perfect for 2 families
We had a wonderful time for 2 weeks over the summer. We had two couples each with a nine month old. We could fit a travel crib in the 3rd bedroom upstairs as well as the large walk in closet of the master. We used the room off the kitchen as a play area for the little ones. Jacuzzi is clean and seems brand new, fire pit is great. Big shady yards with lots of space. Terrific kitchen. Hosts were very responsive. Would happily stays here again.

Week-Long Family Vacation
We stayed for one week at the property and were immediately wowed by how beautiful the space was! There was ample room for the four of us to comfortably enjoy the stay and take advantage of each room in the house. All of the rooms were very accomodating to our needs, as well as far exceeding our expectations of what could be provided. The kitchen was stocked with numerous appliances, utensils, and dishware that we could easily cook for every meal we had there. My daughter was even able to make delicious treats for us, a feat that does not come by easily when we normally are on vacation, and we didn't find it necessary to eat out once. We definitely took advantage of the fire pit every night and enjoyed the wonderful view of the stars, a sight that we normally don't get in our day-to-day lives. The proximity to the lakes, golf courses, and hiking trails were very convenient and allowed us to have varied outdoor adventures. We would definitely recommend a stay here: the accommodations provided to us by this house go far above any expectation that we could have had, and the stay was beyond perfect for our family!

What a great place!
This home is really nice and roomy. The beds are all comfortable and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The location was close to the lake with a small lake view and well within range of many wineries. The property is very shaded and had a nice firepit and gas grill. The stone wall in the house was beautiful. The salt water hot tub was great for a morning soak. It was 90 degrees there and the air conditioners kept the house cool and cozy. If you rent this house, make sure to check the waterfall at the stream a few hundred yards before the driveway. It is a short walk of 400 yards or so and really nice. You don't even know it is there unless you walk up the stream on the same side as the parking area. The kitchen was really nice too with plenty of room and the owners keep it stocked with everything you would need except a pizza cutter (hint, hint). They also have spices and other things available. We will definitely rent this place again on our next trip and have recommended it to friends!

Nice place
My family and I rented for three nights in June. We were pleased with our stay and would definitely stay again if we return to the area. The owners maintained the house thoroughly. When we arrived, the housekeeper was still there finishing up her cleaning, due to the state of the house from the previous renters. The owners called that evening to verify the mess wasn’t blamed on us, which we really appreciated. We were pleasantly surprised at how much was provided. We enjoyed using the fire pit and hot tub during our stay. Everything was in good condition. We will recommend this house to others.
