Just perfect hideaway.

Spectacular place! Stunning beach and ocean. If you aren’t into camping and rugged areas maybe not your jam. But if you are ok with sand, small bathroom and shower, and sand it’s heaven. Water was rough with waves and rocks. A few areas with sandy beach. At the end of the road there is a state park. You need a pass to open the gate. Wish we got a pass before hand. Highly recommend for camping types.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
I have been to Hawaii too many times to count. There are virtually no choices besides Turtle Bay and the Courtyard by BYU on the North Shore. I am very familiar with the island and am the kind that can "rough it". I understood that this was a YMCA. The photos of the amazing beach drew me into my checking this property out. And the beach is amazing. The rest of the property is not as shown. We noticed that there were many school-aged children on property. Ok. I'm a mother myself. We assumed it was likely a after-school program and the kids would leave after-hours. No. Granted they were across the street, it appeared to be an overnight camp. As a mother, I was uneasy that a YMCA would rent out rooms at a facility with children staying overnight. The beach was amazing. Hands down one of the best. We then went into our cabin to unpack. There was a hole in the lower corner of the front door large enough for any critter to come right in. A gecko crawled across the wall from behind the curtain when we went to turn on the one window A/C Unit; there was a wasp nest near the front door; we found spiders and dead bugs all over and the bathroom was dingy.Carpet in the listing-Cabin was wood floor that was dirty. Shower &toilet had mold. We left and went back to Honolulu. There one hour total. Upon Hotels.com customer service contact, YMCA would not refund the $414.35 for the two nights of my booking. $207/per night? See pics below.

Amazing location and wonderful staff! The cabins are very basic, but allow access to so much. We feel lucky we got to stay in such a beautiful spot.

It was great being right on the water. Check in and out was great. Our tent was very clean. The water in this area of this island is very rough. Unable to ocean swim. The outdoor shower water is freezing. We went at colder time of year. The TP got soaking wet when rained. Outside bathroom has no roof. The grounds was not kept up. There were homeless people sleeping in mangroves around the area. I didn't fell unsafe but just a little uneasy. I think any camping area around the island has a homeless population.

If you are looking for glitz and glam of Hawaii, this is NOT the place for you.
If you are looking for the best scenery in Hawaii, the softest sand, perfect sunsets, no crowds and can stand a little bit of rustic, then this IS your place.
It is not nice or new but we stayed 2 nights in one of the beachside cabins. Staff was very friendly and accommodating only if needed otherwise left us alone. The beach is great and you can hear the waves through the night.
Again, if you are looking for a hotel or resort, this is not the place. It is glamping only because you have running water/ toilet/shower in your cabin.
If thats your style (like ours) then this is a must!

Location! Staff!

Property was run down and dirty. Kitchenette consisted of minifridge and micro on top. No shelves, no chairs, no toiletries. Just a room with 2 bunkbeds and a double bed with bathroom.fridge and micro were both dirty. Shower was filthy. Light switch had dirty fingerprints on it. More of a surfer shack than an air bnb. A/C didnt really work. Internet service didnt work by the cabins, only by the office. Beach was remote and beautiful office staffwas nice.

Deplorable - dirty, trash and sanitary napkins in trash cans, drain in shower so clogged with hair - it would barely drain, broom but no dust pan, sand and dirt covering floor, toilet leaking all over floor, 2" hole in bottom of entry door, spider webs in every corner, spiders, ants and flies in room Rusted noisy AC held in place by rotted plywood. Toilet plunger covered with dry ----. Brown spots on wall next to toilet. Discarded hoses and broken nozzles in front of entry. No furniture - no chairs, no tables, no glasses, no utensils, no coffee. Scary.

The Yurt was cute and a wonderful experience being right on the beach and hearing the waves. I just realized you're a 15 to 20 minute drive from any store and a 30 minute drive from a real grocery store. In pictures you see a coffee pot and a coffee press and cups you better bring your own coffee because they don't provide it!
Also they just give you towels, no hand towels or washcloths. Also the outside shower is just cold water which is bearable and the toilet area needs to be enlarged you can barely get your clothes off to sit down and do your business with the door closed other than that it was a wonderful time.

Plenty of places to go hiking near here including from the yurt.

It was our first time staying in a yurt and it was just enough "roughing it" for us. Very friendly and helpful staff. The Mattresses and linen were comfortable with just enough space in the yurt to move around but feel cozy. The Gas grill and outdoor area made it easy to cook and fun to hang out outdoors. The sink, shower and toilet areas were clean. I do want to come back again!

If your looking to get away and be one with nature than this is your destination. Beautiful scenic views from mauka to makai and very isolate. This is a must return happy to have found this.

Beautiful beach front yurts on an almost.deserted beach on Oahu. We would definitely stay there again. I would term this experience as "glamping". We cooked outside on a grill and had an outdoor bathhouse with running water.

Excelente. For those who like outdoor camping style. Right on the beach. Tent is spacious, beds comfortable. Staff very nice and helpful.
