We had our family reunion at Tomahawk Lodge over Labor Day weekend. The town of Breckenridge was, of course, very busy, but Tomahawk Lodge was in a quiet and relaxing neighborhood so it was easy to unwind. We had around 20 guests and everyone was able to stretch out and sleep comfortably, and the amply supplied kitchens made cooking a breeze. We really enjoyed the entire experience staying here.
4.0 / 10.0
A group of 12 stayed here while celebrating my dad's 80th birthday. Pros: large with space for everyone, well-stocked kitchen(s) (plates and utensils), pool table in the main hang out area, good host communication, great location near town.
Cons: Uncomfortable mattresses, peeling laminate floors, mold in bathtub, cheapest towels and worst facial tissue, a bedspread with a giant stain (maybe blood -- so gross), bubbling carpet, black hair in shower, cigarette butts littering the front porch, ripped deck chair fabric, so much deferred maintenance. It appears to have a lot of seating, but the cushions don't stay on the couches, so they're very uncomfortable. In fact, my dad sat down on the edge of the end cushion and fell right off the couch, covering himself with hot coffee. We rewashed every dish before use because of a lingering film and stuck-on food residue. The "remove your shoes" sign was amusing, since I wiped something off the floor and the paper towel came up filthy.
Bottom line: the place could work for a ski/snowboard crash pad for a bunch of twenty-something guys who don't care, but disappointing for a family vacation. May never get my husband in another VRBO after this experience.

We had a great time with our party of 12. The home is huge with plenty of space for private accommodations for all and fun gathering areas. It’s a little dated and we had a couple minor issues but nothing to damper our good time! It was crazy having two kitchens. We’re sorry if we mixed dishes up!

Lots of space, great accommodations

Great option for a family of 15 adults and 4 kids under 5 on a budget. Lots of stairs since it’s two duplexes but baby gates available and keep close eyes on babies. Close to town (minutes by car, a nice walk, or short walk to free shuttle). Bedrooms were clean. Clear instructions for everything. Property manager responded to any concerns within minutes. Would stay again!

This place was perfect for our group over a long weekend! Spacious house in a nice quiet neighborhood, walking distance to Breck. Only complaint is that some of the beds are not comfortable, something to keep in mind if you are planning a longer stay.

All things considered, this property is a good value, and we would stay here again. It's a bit on the rustic side, but everything necessary for a wonderful vacation is present, and the house manager was responsive to our needs. What's really cool is that almost all of the 7 bedrooms has more bedding capacity than just one couple, so it's great for kids and extra friends or family members. Also, there is space to garage two vehicles, and park eight more outside if necessary. Glad we found this place, we may be back!

Plenty of room for 11 guys ski trip.

We had a great stay at this house. It’s just 5 minutes from the mountain and the town of Breckenridge. The house is HUGE so plenty of room for a large family or group. We had young children and babies with us and it worked out well. Easy check in and out process. Thanks for a great stay!

Everything was very good at our house…new couches were being delivered as we left. They were much needed. Updated spreads and pillows in bedrooms would make rooms more appealing. Grill was not that great! We used it one time..Thanks for letting us stay.. Kids loved the pool table and hot tub! Great plus!!

This was a great property for us! Our friend group goes skiing every year and this was a great house and location to hit the slops every morning!

A roomy home with plenty of room for all 12 of us. We loved that we could all sit together at the table in the dining room. The pool table provided fun entertainment in the evening. We didn’t use the foosball table or ping pong table, but they looked brand new. The BBQ was also in good shape, and worked well. The proximity to downtown and shuttle service were a nice bonus. The only things that need improvement are the lighting, the hot tub, and some slow running sinks and tubs. There were several light bulbs that needed replacing. The one going downstairs in unit B should be replaced immediately, since it poses a falling hazard. The lighting in Kitchen A is very poor. The hot tub water is a greenish brown. It seems that these are issues that could be easily fixed. Rafi was a very responsive host, and readily available.

The layout and location of the bedrooms and bathrooms was perfect for our family. Our daughter and her family had a two hour time difference. The upstairs apartment with its own small kitchen and living area was perfect for them and their 1 1/2 & 4 yr olds. The loft bed was too high and steep stairs for the 4 yr old so they just moved the mattress down with them.
The owner was super to work with; responding quickly to questions and texts.
The house could use some updating. The carpet in some rooms was wavy and needed to be stretched or replaced.
Overall it was a great house, great location and a great time!

The house was able to accommodate a large group and everyone was able to also have their own space. The weather was awesome during our stay (Labor Day) and very close into town. It was easy to check in and the property manager made it simple to check in and left notes for checking out as well.

House accommodated 8 guys no problem. Plenty of room, house was clean and a great location. I would stay here again.

The Tomahawk Lodge was a perfect place for our large family get together. It gave everyone the opportunity to get together but also have their own space! The multiple bathrooms made it even better. The main space was far enough away from the bedrooms that the younger kids could stay up and not bother anyone sleeping. The location was within walking distance of downtown Breckenridge or you could take the free bus. Highly recommend this location.
6.0 / 10.0
The property was as described for the most part, overall, we had an enjoyable stay for our family reunion. There were some disappointing aspects of our stay that we’d like to call to the attention to those considering this property.
The Good: It is difficult to find an acceptably priced property in Breckenridge that will sleep 25 guests, and this property is competitively priced for a place that sleeps that many. The property is also in a good location and that has easy access to town.
Not so Good: The layout of the house is a bit odd. It is two three-story townhouses side by side that are connected only on the second floor. There are lots of stairs which might be difficult for seniors and toddlers. The furnishings are reasonably comfortable, but most of them are very tired.
The biggest disappointment was communication. Early on we texted with 3 issues; none resolved. At one point the owner phoned with accusations that we violated the terms of the rental agreement by having 20 people [advertised for 25]. Although the issue was resolved it was much harder than it should have been. Moreover, most of the concerns we expressed during our stay were never addressed.

This place was huge, able to comfortably accommodate 18 individuals (12 adults, 6 children). It is dated, but we didn't mind that as we appreciated the ability to all be together under one roof more than any contemporary decor. It was clean, kitchens were well stocked, though I would have appreciated just a few more seasonings (sugar, olive oil). Laundry was great to have onsite, thank you for stocking laundry pods!
Hot tub was fun. Outdoor spaces are great - several outdoor balconies off bedrooms in addition to large back deck for all to hang out, grill, etc. The fire pit didn't work for us - would turn on for a few minutes and then shut off (with a full tank of gas attached). Sauna also didn't work, which was a bummer for those who would've liked to have used it. Pool table, ping pong table, poker set up, etc. all made for great entertainment!
The bus access was great to get us all downtown for free rather than having to pay an arm & a leg in parking fees. The bus stop was only a block's walk from the place - highly recommend!
Overall, I think everybody had a great time and were all comfortable, well accommodated for our 3-night stay. This place could definitely use some TLC for ongoing upkeep/updates, a little bit here and there, and it would be a dream!! But I recommend for anybody looking to get a large group together!

We were happy with the space. Plenty of room for the kids to run around on the porches & such. Some of the light fixtures need to be fixed. It would be nice to have a list of what is provided, so we would know more of what to bring. I would say it’s a great place to stay for families with younger kids! Enjoyed it!

The house was great for 15 people. BUT it needs a lot of maintenance inside and out. Windows with no cranks and no screens so had to just open them if we could as no air conditioning. Owner states in house manual that this is a “hot house”.Screen door was so hard to open due to how bad of shape it is. One of the showers has no water to it. Open light fixture above kitchen sink too. The sides of the sofa cushions are gone and the king bed I slept in you fall to the center. Some of the other mattresses need replaced too. On the bright side there was plenty of room for all of us to play games and sit down for meals. Nice appliances and lots of kitchen accessories. Hot tub was nice too. We also woke up to see a mother moose and baby the first morning in the neighbors backyard. It is very close to downtown Breckenridge.

Needs some TLC and maintenance but for our group it was perfect.
Enjoyed the location.
Biggest issue having young children on the trip was a broken step from the patio to the backyard creating a dangerous situation.

We had a large group that was accommodated perfectly. This stay had just about everything we needed and anything they didn’t a convenience store did just down the road. Very close to downtown breck with a free shuttle. Layout of the house was a bit odd but we loved it. Would stay again.

House was a great size for a large group . Needs updates for sure.

If you want space and privacy, this is your place!! A variety of bedrooms to fit any family/group and everyone gets a bathroom. The home seems to be converted from 2 condos to one which adds to its spaciousness and variety. Great location to town, altho you do need to drive there. Owner is very responsive.

We had a party of 16 and absolutely loved the accommodations. So much room and the amenities were fabulous. We were less than 10 minutes to downtown. 5 stars for sure!!!!

The house was perfect for what we needed, an affordable place to stay with room for our large crew! At no point did we feel cramped. The house is clean. With that being said it needs to be updated, throw pillows need to be tossed and there are areas that need to be brought up to code.

This house had plenty of space for me and my large group of friends. The decor was enjoyable and it had a good selection of amenities including 3 kitchens which can help a lot with a large group. Would definitely consider going there again.

It was an amazing location for Breckinridge. Our whole family got to stay together as we celebrated our wedding. The pool table was the life of the party that’s for sure and the amount of room in this house is incredible. Would definitely stay again!

Property was clean and very well organized. Very spacious and well-stocked. A home away from home. The price was also reasonable. Close to town and the activities we had planned. Management was very helpful. We arrived late at night and had a problem getting in the door. I called Rafi and he was very gracious for it being so late at night. The problem was not the door. It was me. I would highly recommend this property and would stay there again.

We were very pleased with the size and space of the house. Lots of beds and rooms for our family reunion. Loved the back deck and the fire pit. Kids loves the game room and hot tub. Proximity to trails and town were great!! 3 kitchens was helpful. We used one for food and one for snacks and drinks. Owner and Property manager were responsive. We really enjoyed our time there. We would recommend this rental for sure.

Overall would rate these accommodations has very good. Had a party of 13 and had more than enough space to accommodate us all. Facility could use some routine maintenance, paint touch-up, a couple of the light switches were finicky put overall plenty of room and great accommodations for a wonderful stay!
6.0 / 10.0
If you have a large group, this place will be great. Lots of sleeping spaces, well equipped kitchens, sit down dining for probably 18-20 people. Check in & communication with Rafi is excellent. This space has seen what appears to be years of rentals. All couches & most mattresses need replaced. Lower levels are moldy & wet. WAY too many throw pillows everywhere that are down right gross & need thrown away. Cleaning crew appears to do a good job on surface cleaning only. Kitchens & refrigerators were clean but attention to detail cleaning is not their forte. Rent this house because of the amount of space for large gatherings but know that it has seen a lot of wear and tear.

Looking for a handyman!
This was probably an incredible house about 20 ears ago. It is in need of so many improvements, maintenance and repairs. The screen doors are off track and ill fitted, the hot tub was slimy and stunk, the floors creek loudly, the furniture is very old with couches falling apart. The window cranks were not operable. There was not enough patio furniture for the size of the house, it was enough for about 6 people. Most of the decks did not even have chairs on them. I did call the property manager while we were there because we found two different leaks, one in a downstairs bathroom and the other under one of the kitchen sinks, we also were hoping to get the hot tub up and running, the property manager did not answer and did not have a voicemail box set up- so I couldn't leave a message, so I sent a text and never got a call back or reply. The location of this house is excellent, if you are ok with dealing with the rest of all this.

Great for large groups!
Had a great stay with family. Very accommodating for large groups and had a fully stocked kitchen and amenities. Only downfall is one of the toilets didn’t work right on the main level. Also there are many levels and stairs which is hard for the elders to get around.

Family reunion in Breckinridge
Fantastic location and plenty of space for our reunion. Two different kitchens made cooking for a large group a very manageable task. Plenty of utensils provided. Bedrooms were clean and nice. However, The couches in the main room are very old and one of the sectionals had leather damage all over - it will be great if they are replaced.
