About this cabin rental
Our cabin provides rustic simplicity and the tranquil charm of life in the Maine woods overlooking the water.
In the MASTER BEDROOM, the combination of fresh Maine air and a comfortable Queen-size bed with patchwork quilt will have you sleeping soundly. You have 2 dressers for your jeans and t-shirts (all the wardrobe you'll need). In the GUEST ROOM, your guests or children will feel cozy in the built-in twin beds with a dresser. They have 2 bookshelves with an assortment of summer reading. There is a 'napping blanket' in every room just in case the need arises. The BATHROOM provides your basic needs with a sink, a toilet, and a hot shower. In the LIVING ROOM, there is a double sofa bed and 2 rustic cottage chairs. A picture window overlooks the bay and evening sunsets. For those cool days, you can make a fire in the glass-front woodstove, or just turn on the built-in propane heater. If the day is warm, open the doors at each end and the new screened windows, and you'll be comfortable. A countertop with stools separates the kitchen from the living room. The compact KITCHEN is fully furnished with a 4-burner gas stove and oven, sink and refrigerator. There is also a toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker and a complete set of dishes, pots and pans, glasses and utensils.
A small TV/VCR and a drawer full of a variety of videos as well as an AM/FM radio and a well-stocked bookshelf will satisfy your basic relaxation needs when you're indoors. There's a napping blanket in every room except the kitchen. Outdoors, you can lounge in the Sky Chair, in the hammock or on the deck with a good book.
If you prefer, either take a walk to Wolfe's Neck Farm and Wolfe's Neck State Park for delightful views of Casco Bay. Two kayaks and a canoe are available at high tide to be used at your own risk.
If you're ready for more, you're only 3 miles from L.L. Bean and over 150 upscale outlet stores. Fresh seafood abounds in Freeport from gourmet to New England classics, with even more offerings in neighboring Portland and Brunswick.

Loved the location of this cabin, close enough to Freeport while also embracing its wilderness location complete with a waterfall and waterfront access to the Harraseeket River via kayaks and canoes. Spent plenty of time enjoying the outdoors with the fire pit, the cabin itself provided everything we needed for our trip! If I’m ever back in Freeport I’ll be sure to stay here again!

Very nice week! The owners were wonderful to talk to. The property is beautiful. Very nice views and awesome sunsets with camp fires!
The cabin is old but very clean and cozy. It’s exactly as advertised! Location to LL Bean is very close and the Wolf’s Neck Farm and State park are even closer!
I would rent there again when I can

We enjoyed our week at this old rustic cabin. The view of the water, the sound of the waterfall and the privacy are great. The nearby state park is great for biking and short hikes. It's nice that Freeport is convenient.

Bonnie and Bill's cabin was a rustic and perfect choice for our family's Southern Maine vacation! The location was close to town (and the amenities therein) but also quiet and seemingly isolated for relaxing mornings/evenings in. The places beyond Freeport that we planned to visit like Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Boothbay Harbor (for a puffin cruise), Bailey Island (to climb the "Giant's Stairs"), and Harpswell (to explore the tide pools at Pott's Point) were all within about 45 minutes of the cabin ... and Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park was literally down the street (we could have walked if we wanted to)!
The cabin itself is small, but there was enough room for all of us to enjoy a VHS movie around the little TV most nights, and if we wanted space we simply moved outdoors to the fire pit for s'mores or down to the platform by the water. The grounds may not be the most accessible to everyone, but we didn't have any problems and our kids loved exploring off the paths. In the course of a week, we became experts at using the tide charts that were in the kitchen to plan our canoe/kayak excursions so that we didn't get stuck in the mud, and we really enjoyed those moments out on the water.
Lastly, Bonnie and Bill are great hosts! They make sure you know what is available at the cabin prior to arrival and were great about answering all of our questions. They also have a wealth of knowledge to share and a large binder full of useful information about the area if you need/want ideas!

The property is gorgeous, wooded with a short walk down to the river/bay. The options for outdoor relaxation were the best part. Kayaks, canoe, hammock, comfy chairs, and a fire pit. Often the only sounds we heard were birds.
We also appreciated how much there was to do a short drive away. Our kids say this was the best vacation ever, they loved this place!

Delightful destination
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. While kayaking we saw bald eagles, osprey, herons, egrets, kingfishers and seals. It was a good location to explore The surrounding areas of Harpswell, Bailey and Orr Islands as well as Brunswick, Bath and Georgetown. Having Wolf's Neck Woods State Park just down the street is a bonus.

Wonderful and Relaxing
The pictures online don't do the cabin justice. The area around the cabin is beautifulcovered with ferns and moss and right at the water's edge.. We were lucky enough to have had some rain so we had the sound of the waterfall all week. Close to everything, but far enough away to be private. We really enjoyed relaxing, reading, walking and exploring. The owners met us there, even though we arrived late due to traffic, to show us the ropes and welcome us with a treat. Very communicative and helpful. We hope to return someday soon!

Loved the location. Nice view of the inlet, lots of trees and wildlife. We walked to Wolfe’s neck farm state park, only a mile away. Minutes to downtown Freeport, and 20 minutes to downtown Portland.

Very quiet and relaxing
This is a true Maine Cabin feel. Just be careful when navigating the hill to get get to the canoe/kayaks. We squeezed 5 into this cabin and was a little tight. Other than that it was a beautiful area and loved looking out of the window each morning drinking my coffee. My family loved the fire pit and sky chair and Hammock. The owners are very welcoming and added a personal touch with blueberry muffins!

Fantastic Getaway
We stayed a week at Bonnie & Bills cabin in the woods . A little gem . Remote yet close to town . We enjoyed watching the eagle fly in every morning . The wood stove was a plus on those chilly September nights . We took the canoe out to paddle in the bay . Everyday was simply wonderful!!!
Bonnie & Bill are wonderful people. We received a warm welcome when we reached the cabin . They explained everything to us & Bonnie's blueberry muffins are to die for!!!
We were sad the day we had to leave . We hope to visit them again on our next trip .
I highly recommend The Cabin in the woods !!

Freeport Cabin
Wonderful vacation spot! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Bradford’s cabin. Our daily canoe trips from the property brought us much excitement- bald eagles flying overhead, catching two foot stripers, and watching seals eat from schools of fish. Although the cabin makes you feel like it’s a remote, peaceful retreat, it’s only a 5 minute ride into Freeport for shopping and eating, and is situated for easy day trips. We highly recommend a stay!

Calm by the Cove
We had a wonderful week in Maine. Bonnie & Bill met us at the cabin and went through all the particulars of the property which was very helpful. They even had whoopies (our new Maine favorite ^_^) and a beautiful bunch of flowers for my daughter who would be celebrating her birthday.
The cabin is charming and rustic; the property is full of great places to relax (the sky chair, the hammock, the fire pit, the dock at the waterfront and tables on either side of the house). The access to the water (we used both kayaks and canoe) really made our week. We went out and explored a couple of the nearby estuaries, and even went as far as Mast Landing!
The location is also perfect for exploring the Maine coast. Freeport has a great downtown for shopping at well-known stores, and also has many small local shops to explore. There are dozens of parks to hike and islands to visit.
The house is without wifi, which we found to be a welcome respite, but it is easily accessible at the nearby Bow Street Market. We sat outdoors, distanced from others, and kept our access short so as to not miss out on the beauty of Maine.
Thank you Bonnie and Bill for providing the perfect spot for our vacation!

Gorgeous Spot
Quaint rustic cabin on a stunning piece of land. We spent most of our time outdoors as it was so gorgeous! You really can't beat having a personal waterfall. The owners were incredibly kind and met me at the cabin to go over everything. We loved taking the canoe out and my personal favorite spot to sit was on the raised platform down by the water. So happy they were pet friendly as my dog loved it there and didn't want to leave. :) Really lovely quiet street with friendly neighbors. We really enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful setting
This was a great place to relax away from the stresses of work. The cabin is very cozy, and Bill and Bonnie were amazing, they had a fire going for us when we showed up. I’ve never had a host greet me in person before! The fishing would have been great if I didn’t have a four year old right next to me in the water!

A real Maine camp in a gorgeous place!
Yes, this real is a true Maine camp: nothing fancy, just the basics but it has everything you need and it's perfect. The trails through the woods pass a natural waterfall down to an inlet on the Harraseeket River, with kayaks, canoes and a tent or sunset viewing platform. Build a fire and relax at the picnic table or in the hammock, walk to Wolf's Neck State Park or Farm or spend a day out on the water. It's all here and our family loved every minute of it.

Peaceful and beautiful
This is a beautiful and quite place to unwind and enjoy the sunsets. My granddaughters enjoyed going out in the canoe everyday and even gave our little dogs a ride. Your close to shopping, wonderful restaurants. So if you are looking for a relaxing place to get rid of the stress of every day life this is it. Bonnie and Bill are the best, they are there when you arrive and answer all questions. Bill has wonderful stories about their " Little cabin in the woods" . We all loved it thank you Bonnie and Bill. Anita, Jody, Misty, Lexi and Brenda. Also Benny,Roxy and Emmit ( our little dogs )

Beautiful Scenery and Great Location
My wife, two dogs, and I had a great time at Bonnie's cabin. We were greeted with amazing homemade blueberry muffins from Bonnie and made to feel right at home. The cabin is down a private road so there isn't a lot of traffic going by which led to many days sitting on the hammock reading. When we weren't relaxing we were using the provided kayaks and canoe so paddle around the bay. The cabin is also very close to the downtown Freeport area so you are never too far from a restaurant or shopping if you so choose. I would highly recommend staying here and I look forward to coming back again.

Gorgeous setting!
Very cozy cabin. It’s far enough from downtown Freeport that you feel you’ve gotten away from it all, but close enough for convenience. We loved the hammock and sky chair, and the kayaks! The Bradfords were there to greet us and were very welcoming. Bonnie made us the best blueberry muffins we’ve ever had to welcome us to the cabin. We’ll definitely be back when our children are older and can enjoy the property more!

Fabulous Freeport, Maine "cottage in the woods"!
Upon arrival the first week in October for a weeks stay, our hosts, Bonnie and Bill greeted us with a warm New England campfire and we feel in love with the "cabin in the woods" immediately. Our hosts left us with a guest binder full of information for the surrounding area in Maine. Being our first time to New England from Traverse City, MI, this was an invaluable resource for eateries, shopping, historic towns to visit, antiquing and just riding around to look at the fall foliage. We would highly recommend this beautiful quiet oasis!
Thanks again to Bonnie and Bill for making our Maine experience a great one!

Freeport, ME - Charming Cabin in the Woods & on the Water
We knew the moment we drove into the area that we had chosen the perfect place to stay in Maine. The cabin delivered the "woodsy" rustic charm we were seeking. The walk to the waterfront is a visual delight with walkways, a beautiful rock wall, and the clean, fresh smell of pine. Our mid-west roots had not prepared us for the high tide | low tide schedule and we found ourselves watching it daily to see when we could head out with the kayaks or low tide to dig for clams.
The cabin was well stocked with paper items, spices, and clean towels and linens. On the one rainy day we had, we dove into the treasure trove of movies available and greatly enjoyed a movie afternoon.
Easy access to Freeport and shopping. Day trips to Boothbay Harbor, Bath, Bar Harbor, and Portland are an easy drive. Loved hiking in Wolf Neck State Park.
We highly recommend the waterfront cabin in the woods for a great Maine experience and hope to return next year!

Lovely week at the cabin in the woods
Bonnie and Bill very kindly met us in Freeport as we came by public transport and showed us around. The cabin is in a beautiful setting and is well stocked and the Bradfords give loads of helpful information about what local amenities, attractions etc are in the area. We absolutely loved our week- canoeing with ospreys and herons flying overhead, walks to the state park, relaxing with books, BBQs and marshmallows over the firepit. We would highly recommend it to anyone, wish we were still there!

Very Restful, Relaxing Cabin
We stayed two weeks at the little cabin in the woods, enjoying the waterfall when it rained and canoeing in the bay when the tide was up. The little rustic cabin is completely furnished and offers everything - a deck for morning coffee, a big picnic table, a hammock and a sky chair, two sea kayaks and a canoe and a convenient location. We enjoyed the area as well as the house, including the Maritime Museum in Bath, the art museum at Bowdoin College, the Farnsworth Museum to see the Wyeth paintings, and the nearby Olson House where Andrew Wyeth painted Christina's World. Another highlight was the boat trip to Eagle Island to see Admiral Peary's home. The friendly owners met us there and gave us a tour around the property at the beginning of our visit. Highly recommended.

What a wondeful place
Just came back from a week stay at the cottage. It was a great experience. Fabulous location. The cabin is comfortable, clean and well stocked. The owners are helpful and detail oriented, making sure that you have all the necessary information about the house and the area. We cooked outside in the fire pit under a full moon. Had a beautiful waterfall after some rain. Went on canoe excursion during high tide. Watched the sunset from the patio. Although the cottage is in a very secluded location, Freeport is just a few minutes away. Thank you!
