We stayed here twice. Condo has everything we need, it’s clean. We love the area!

Great condo in a wonderful location to take advantage of hiking and biking activities. Quiet and peaceful on the resort. Grounds are well maintained and make for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Although it is a bit unconventional in design, everything worked. Water ran only about 5 min. Before it got hot. Beds were ok not great. We liked that it was in the middle of everything in proximity. Very good to work with.

Modest and exactly what we were told. Couldn't be happier

Overall great time but there isn't much to do on the property beyond walking

Our room was clean and had all the comforts of home. Beds were comfortale and the fresh mountain air was just what we needed to clear our heads on a much needed stress reducing weekend getaway. Our experience with Cam and the Aussieman Rentals team was positive from beginning to end. Looking foward to our next getaway!

This is a very beautiful and relaxing stay! We went the weekend of Easter so we had to get firewood at Shop and Save, but it's right at the bottom of the hill. Also, the Jacuzzi was wonderful, it does take a while for hot water but once it gets hot, it's very hot! Everything was clean and neat. The view from the room was gorgeous! We had an amazing weekend!

The room was beautiful and very clean. It was exactly as described.

Check in was very difficult. Couldnt get cell phone connection due to being in the mountains. Black Bear resorts wouldnt give me Camerons numbet to call and I didnt have a email or text from him with his contact information. The only way we hit his cell number is we ran into a maid and she called her boss and thats how we got his cell number.

Great little property away from it all but close to everything you need...convenient and cozy. Nice to come back to after a day sight seeing and hiking.
Room just as pictured and described.

Overall we had a pleasant stay. Were disappointed in the number of places to eat.{This is something That the owner has no control over.} I would recommend putting some grab-bars in the bath to prevent falls thou. All in all thou I would stay here again.

The host for this place was second to none for any VRBO that I have stayed at. Responses were almost immediate. Consumables in the condo or plentiful, and he did a very good job about addressing any concern that came up. Even stop by with a gift certificate for dinner. The weather did not cooperate so I did leave early but it had nothing to do with the accommodations. I would stay at that resort again. As far as things to do in the area, you need to be a nature person. As the small town is just that a very small town. There's not a lot to do so when the weather didn't cooperate, my hiking trip kind of fell apart as it was raining all but one day of my stay. Stay. I did leave early. The resort is lovely and there are plenty of trails in the two state parks that are very close, and beautiful waterfalls as well to keep you busy out in nature. As long as the sun is shining. I also did the ski lift ride, at Canaan resort, the views were astronomical. .

My wife and I got exactly what we needed with this property. Great location, accommodations, and feel. The only criticism I can give is the resort needs to get their pool in serviceable condition.

Nice room, it was very well stocked with dishes, pans, coffee, baggies, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pods, shampoo and body wash! I feel the carpet though could be taken out and replaced with wood floor. One thing we were very disappointed in was that the pool was out of service and the reason we picked this place was because it had a pool.

The property was in the perfect location for our visit. It did take a little adjusting to the arrangement of the food preparation area but it wasn't a problem for us, yet it may be for some. We had a little problem while we were there but Cam resolved the issue right away. Plan to stay here again in the future because of the location and the service we received from Cam.

Nice and well equipped studio style apartment

The resort is at a central location near cute small towns and hiking areas. The cabins are nice & private. It would be great place to stay for skiing in the winter. It would be nice if the list of amenities would not include fireplace b/c there were only a couple in the resort. Kinda disappointed with that.

My friends and I came up for a weekend of skiing at Timberline, and we loved the trip! The property was comfortable and clean, and conveniently located to everything we could need. Would definitely stay again.

Upon entering, we looked out a wall of windows showcasing ski runs, mountain backdrop and snow! This rental was cozy and comfortable. The gallery kitchen had updated appliances, all working and a dishwasher. The beds were comfortable and linens in good condition. Bathroom large with good lighting and a heat ceiling light. A Jaccuzzi bath an add on! Look forward to a return visit.

Host let me check in early since I arrived in town earlier than expected which was very accommodating. Listing was accurate as mostly everything was supplied. Water pressure is very slow and bath takes over 30 mins to fill so don’t expect a quick bath at night! Also couldn’t figure out how to work smart tv but besides that wonderful stay!

Easy check-in, great jetted tub. Sad to see the pool was not open.

My wife and I spent a week in the Monongahela Canaan Valley area. Three of those days was at this rental. It is a great local to visit Davis, Thomas and a great amount of hiking trails. We had a wonderful time and Cameron is a great host. I would recommend his rentals to anyone.

Relaxation with a view
Black Bear Resort was the perfect place for my sister and I to enjoy a few days in the mountains. The property is halfway between Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls State Parks. Our accomodations were clean and well supplied for 2 people. Our unit was small but adequate for us. We enjoyed spending time on the balcony after long days of hiking.

Budget friendly
The location is perfect, short drive to anything you want/need. Nice view, clean rooms, and quiet area.
Will definitely rent again if the opportunity presents itself to return to Blackwater.

Great spot. 10 minute drive to ski. 1/3 the price.
Woke up at 7am with a cup of coffee and a beautiful view of Timberline Mountain. All the motivation you need to shred.

Quaint property
It was a cute property and cozy for a winter weekend. It was mostly clean, but the bath tub had hair in it and there appeared to be mold on the bath shower curtain. Management answered my texts and calls, and the town was super cute with lots of good food and drink.

Black Bear’s Inn Pheasant Unit
Why Pheasant unit? You will see when you visit.
Wanted to thank the owner for making every effort to make his guests’ stay in this unit as nice as possible. From quality appliances and furnishings, to the cotton quilts and the wax fire log waiting for us in the fire place.
We had three good days of skiing at Timberlane and this unit and owner will be our first choice for our next visits here.
All the best,
Sorin C

Cozy stay, minutes from Davis and Thomas!
My husband and I loved the space! Very clean, beautiful view, and within 5-7 minutes from Davis and Thomas. Very spacious room, could have had another couple there and still plenty of room. The town is quaint and has lots of different options, but be mindful of open hours as they tend to close earlier and open later. The trees were at peak fall season and we will absolutely be back to share the area with our friends.
