About this house rental

The Village Bungalow is a spacious second story one plus bedroom Flat with village views and some ocean peeks. The home is open and bright with many large windows. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and a full sized bed. The full sized bed is in a nook off to the side of the master bedroom, with barn doors to close off the space. The third bed is a queen, it is in a nook off the living room it also has barn doors for privacy. The location is close to shops, grocery stores and restaurants. if you have forgotten anything the grocery store is a 2 minute walk away. The flat is above a hair solon and a copy shop. The space has beautiful hard wood floors and a new rustic bathroom in the master bedroom.

We’ve stayed at The Bungalow three years in a row and are already planning on a fourth. It’s cozy and clean and lovely. The location is perfect for our family, close to downtown shops, close to trails along the coast, and a short drive to our favorite beach. I can’t imagine vacationing anywhere else.

We travel to Mendocino for the 4th for the last 42 years. We loved the Village Bungalow. It was conveniently located, plenty of room for the four of us. Clean and comfortable. I recommend stay here!

Can’t rave enough about this property! Spacious, open, full of light, well appointed, great location to walk to restaurants and shops. The single bathroom is accessible only through the master bedroom. That was not a problem for our group. I would stay here again without hesitation!

This is our second time staying here with our 7yr old and 3yr old. The secret toy cubbies and swing are such a hit and the location is perfect. The place is super cozy for a winter stay!

This was our third time staying at the Village Bungalow and had another great stay! The spacious living room and huge sectional allowed all 5 of us to hang out together and play board games, we made dinner in the kitchen each night and slept great in the comfortable beds. Super clean with many thoughtful touches!

Such a great vacation, and the Village Bungalow is one of the reasons! Fantastic location, easy parking space, clean, comfortable beds, plenty of linens, all the dishes and amenities one needs to relax. The shower is particularly luxurious, and having plenty of hooks to hang up clothes and towels was so appreciated (most rentals don't have enough hooks). Marggie the host was great with communication and the check-in/out process was super smooth. Wonderful property!

The amenities make this one of the nicest VRBO's I've stayed in. Comfortable beds with nice bedding and linens. Plush bathroom towels. Kitchen was very well equipped with ample dish towels. Location was a big plus. Would also be great for families with children as there was a great deal of toys, books and games. Would definitely stay here again.

This place is terrific for kids! My 6yr old and 2 yr old loved the secret kids rooms and the chair swing. We appreciated that there was a baby gate for the stairs and the fireplace heaters were safe for the kids to be around. The location is perfect for exploring town and the market is just down the street. We would highly recommend for families visiting the area!

PS We had a bit of difficulty locking the door when we went out (and that's the only reason I gave four rather than five stars for the check in process), but Marggie was terrific and called right away to let me know how to lock up!

This home is so much better than the pictures show! Well equipped kitchen, amazing bathroom, and the bed was comfortable as well. Would love to stay there again. Plus everything was right there to do. Restaurants, shops, and great hiking within steps. Hopefully we will be back one day!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay. The location was great. It was walking distance to the village and grocery store as well as central to the state parks for hiking. The loft was very clean and comfortable. The beds & shower were amazing. It had everything we needed for our stay.

This was our very first VRBO experience and it could not have been better. The owner was so kind and very responsive. The bungalow is adorable and cozy and perfectly located. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our kids didn’t play with a single thing they brought as they found toys and games galore. We loved being able to walk to the market and the other shops and restaurants downtown. It was only a five minute drive to a gorgeous beach where we spent all our days. This was our kids first trip to the coast, but we know this will now be an annual trip. Can’t wait to stay at the bungalow again.

This is our second time renting this property and it won’t be our last. The location is perfect, easy walk to the headlands and only a few blocks away from some of the best restaurants in Mendocino. Cozy, comfy, cute, and so very welcoming. Highly recommend!

Great stay at the a village bungalow!

After having to cancel our first planned visit due to the pandemic a year ago, we were so glad to be able to finally stay at Marggie's. She was super helpful with preparing for logistics of our stay. We chose the bungalow for its wonderful location in the middle of town, but weren't sure how manageable the stairs would be for our disabled son. Marggie was kind enough to send pics of the stairs in advance and also let me know that she has a baby gate available for use. It all worked fine and he got pretty good at those stairs by the end of our stay. The bungalow was even better than described. Very clean, comfortable and spacious for our family of 4 with the 3 beds. Loved the location right around the corner from the town market for groceries. The bungalow is also so cool with its mini closets/rooms with toys if you have little ones. Thanks again Marggie for hosting us!

The location cannot be beat. We felt like we never wanted to leave! The house felt like it was made for our one year old son, and yet it was perfect for us adults as well. Mendocino is our new favorite place, and we won’t be staying anywhere else!

The front entrance was a bit odd since the business below could have access to the apartment above. This did not end up being a problem, just unexpected. Also the balcony could use some TLC to make it more inviting and usable. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would again if given the opportunity.

The property is gorgeous. The layout is a little odd, hence they call it a one bedroom plus, but it's more like a 3 bedroom. The location is right in old downtown Mendocino. You can walk to the grocery store and a couple of pubs/bars. The ocean is only a few blocks away. As soon as we got there we already knew we wanted to come back again.
