About this house rental

Its Island Time at the SunnyG Get Away. You are right in the middle of everything with the Seawall and Pleasure Pier an easy walk 1 1/2 blocks away. Spend the day at the beach splashing in the water and building sandcastles on the beach. For a little shade, picnic under the pier - so easy. Take a walk on the Seawall and stroll over to Murdochs for a little shopping and rocking chair action.

Wet your appetite at Fish Tales, Bubba Gumps, Chick Fil A, BLVD Seafood, Fish Company Tacos or Wendys - all in walking distance. Catch a ride on the trolley down to the Strand or to Moody Gardens. The Cruise Terminal is right down the street. Children and teens will enjoy Menard Park with a playground, basketball and skate park also in walking distance.

The SunnyG Get Away is a 1912 grand ole house that is completely and beautifully updated and furnished. The 3/4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house sleeps 12. The three upstairs bedrooms include a master with a queen size bed and 1/2 bath attached. Another very large bedroom sleeps 4 on 2 queen beds. Also upstairs is a double bunk room that sleeps 4. These rooms share a full bath. The very large dining room downstairs houses a queen size Murphy bed. Big pocket doors give privacy and easy convenience to the full bath downstairs make this a good room to double as our 4th bedroom.

There is plenty of room to hang out with family and friends inside and out. Relax out on the big front porch and view all the great Galveston events that pass right down the street. We are right on the Mardi Gras parade route. Sit on the big front porch, watch the marching bands and floats go by and catch plenty of beads!

The best kept secret is the lovely entertaining space in the backyard complete with a garden pool and outdoor kitchen. The 4' deep pool has a tanning ledge and sitting ledge designed for socializing. Hang out and enjoy the water features and color changing light.

Let the chef in the group cook a family meal on the great outdoor kitchen while everyone relaxes under the covered pergola. (Propane provided)

Everything you need will be at your fingertips from a fully stocked kitchen to linens, bath and beach towels and beach and pool toys.

Parking is no problem here. We can accommodate 4-5 vehicles with parking in front of the house and in the driveway. Parking permits are provided for street parking.

Our family loves our old house with its original wood floors. We ask our guests to please honor this home by not leaving wet towels or ice chests on the wood. Don't have glass in the pool, pick up your trash, rinse off the sand before entering, rinse and put up beach toys, don't mess with the pool equipment, lock up the house when you leave - just treat it as your own home. We hope that many families will experience a great time at our home.

There is so much to do in Galveston. We are always discovering something new. With its great location and awesome amenities, the SunnyG Get Away can be your escape from the big city for some Sweet Island Time!

During hurricane season, June 1 - November 30th, no refunds are offered for a stay unless a Category 1 or higher named Hurricane is heading directly to Galveston.

Even though the location was perfectly nestled in a great area and close to the beach, we actually preferred to stay in the home. Between the beautifully aesthetic interior of the home and the sunny pool days we were in heaven. We had a wonderful time!

We had the best stay! Everything was communicated so well that we never even had to reach out to the owners. We traveled with 2 young children and the pool size and layout was absolutely perfect. We easily walked down to the beach every morning with a stroller/wagon and were able to come back for lunch and a rest before heading back out again. We wouldn't have changed a thing. Thank you Denise and Jim for sharing your home!

Three generations of family gathering to create memories to cherish for a lifetime. We enjoyed sitting poolside while the children cooled off in the pool. Our host was very communicative and responsive when we had questions. We hope to return in the future.

We had a wonderful time at the Sunny G. Other than the rainy weather, everything was perfect. The house is in a great location and close to everything we wanted to do. It's furnished very well. Our favorite parts of the property is the fabulous front porch and the backyard pool. The host was extremely helpful during the reservation process and during our stay. We will definitely visit again!

We survived hurricane Beryl in this house. We did not experience any flooding and we were well protected. Having the beautiful pool was a great relief since power was lost after the storm. Storm aside we enjoyed our stay in this house. It's walking distance to the beach, Pleasure Pier and lots of restaurants. The beds were super comfortable A/C worked great before we lost power. We had the pleasure of meeting Denise & Jim when they stopped by to check the damage from the storm. There was a water main break under the house that we were not aware of and they got it fixed ASAP. They are wonderful people and great hosts it was very nice meeting them. Highly recommend staying at this property.

We had an amazing time in Galveston! The house was just as advertised, it contained everything we needed to make our stay incredible. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach! The pool/patio area was a great and relaxing way to spend family time. The owner was easily accessible and made sure we had all that was required.

The house and back yard were wonderful!!! The location was awesome. A very short walk to the sea wall, beach and water, Pleasure Pier (rides), Murdoch's Souvenirs and restaurants. My family will come back.

Great place to stay! The house is clean, well appointed and the beds comfortable. The backyard has a nice seating area under a pergola next to the pool. The pool was awesome as well. The front porch is a nice place to sit with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch Galveston wake up. It's a two block walk to pleasure pier, and the beach, so it was nicely located as well. We will stay there again for certain!

As a family, we love Galveston. This house is so beautiful with such lovely history right in the middle of all of the excitement. While the surrounding neighborhood has some areas that could cause safety concerns, the house feels very safe with cameras, a gait at the driveway, etc. Communication and check in with the host was seamless. We appreciate the attention they have given to this beautiful home so we could have a great family weekend away!

The house was very nice. There was plenty of space for four adults and three small kids. We enjoyed being close to restaurants and activities like the beach and Pleasure Pier. Pool was perfect for our family with three young kids. A few of the properties around the house aren’t as nice but we didn’t have any issues. You could hear some street traffic from the bedrooms but nothing that kept us awake. Overall it was a nice stay.

I would give this property 10 stars. The house was perfect and we spent MANY hours in the pool. Great location to the pier and ocean. Pool perfect for young children. Perfect!!!! Family says this place next year!

Home is lovely, and having a pool is over the top! We wanted a relaxing home for an annual girls trip for six women and it was perfect. Denise communicated very well, the home is spacious enough for dinners, games, and the kitchen is very well equipped. We loved it!

We stayed for 4 days and we loved the house, and the amenities. It’s very close to pleasure pier, the beach, sea wall. Very conveniently located, however 3 of the nights we were there several times cops flew past the house twice to the motel next door. Other than that the vacation was amazing, the house was wonderful and the host were so sweet.

Four of my girlfriends and I stayed here to celebrate my 50th birthday. The house was beautiful, comfortable, and in a great location. We were able to walk to Pleasure Pier, restaurants on sea wall, and was close to the trolley stop to take us around the island. It was a fun and memorable stay. I’d definitely stay there again!

The house is just the most adorable place. Very well stocked and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect for walking to the beach, restaurants, the pleasure pier, etc. The pool and backyard were perfect for our young kids (8,8, & 3 years). They swam their hearts out. We loved everything and plan to book again! Also, I think the house was much bigger than the photos portray. So lovely. Thank you !

We loved this property- this is a must with kiddos. Short walk to pleasure pier, fish tails and the trolly. The pool is perfect for small kiddos as it’s pretty shallow. The owners quickly respond to any questions. We would love to stay here again soon.
