The house was comfortable. The location is 1mike down a dirt road and the house is right on the water. Very quiet and relaxing. We watched the tides coming and going. Lovely.
The pool table was fun The internet worked pretty well. We did stream some movies.
We had our kayaks but it was too deep to put in at the house. There’s plenty of places we found to kayak nearby. The bed was comfortable. There is no stove But it worked out fine using the gas grill and the hot plate, microwave and toaster oven. Stephane was helpful and responded quickly.
Overall we highly recommend tranquility place

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Stunning setting. A true slice of Maine coast. Private unpaved road leads up to the property. Adirondack chairs overlook the rocky cove. We saw a wild mink, kingfisher and great blue heron very close to us. Comfy recliners in the apartment give you a spectacular view. Host was very helpful

We loved our stay! The sunsets were so beautiful and we loved eating at the picnic table overlooking the water. I also loved waking up early and drinking coffee while reading and watching the tide come in and out.
The internet was fast and reliable for me to work and stream video. And they had an outdoor outlet next to the garage for slow ev car charging.

Property was exactly as described. It was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Bed was clean and comfortable. As advertised, the property is an apartment over the garage of an attached house. The owners were onsite and opened the garage door a couple of times. Not a problem at all, and we had complete privacy otherwise, but if you are looking for total seclusion you may find this to be a negative.

We stayed for three nights while visiting family. The beds were very comfortable, the place was well appointed, and it was very clean! It also has a great view of the water, which comes up almost to the back of the loft building! Having a pool table made for fun times! It does not have a stove/oven, but it does have a toaster oven and two induction tabletop cookers, which we used to make a pasta dinner for my family one night. One thing that could make it even better, would be a small deck/porch type sitting area off the living area, so you don’t have to go downstairs to sit. We don’t often require lodging in the area but we will certainly consider staying here again if we do. Thanks for the lovely experience!

We have rented a few other houses in Maine but this one was far our favorite.
The view of the ocean was perfect and close to everything we needed
We can not wait to plan our next visit

We enjoyed our stay in the woods! While it was “in the sticks,” Tenant’s Harbor was such a charming town and the loft we stayed in had a good view of the water! It was a simple check in/ out process, clean, and we had a great time.

We really enjoyed staying at Tranquillity Base. The apartment is right on the water and exactly as advertised. The apartment was super clean and our host very responsive. The location is ideal, very close to Camden, Rockport and Rockland. We would love to visit again!

We enjoyed our stay. The unit was very private and it was wonderful to wake up with a view of the water. Lots of birds and we even saw a dolphin or porpoise one morning right off shore. The location is great for exploring Tenant’s Harbor, Camden, Lincolnville and Rockport. It was fun playing pool at night and we were able to use the Netflix already set up for movies which was great because I’m always forgetting my passwords! We hope to have the opportunity to visit again!

The area was amazing ! The loft was perfect very quiet and cozy! We would love to stay again if it is available! The only recommendation we would make is to place safety stickers in the shower. The floor in the tub was very dangerously slippery.Just a thought to help prevent any guest injuries! We would definitely recommend this site for future visits. Thank you so much! Definitely a five star rating!!

Herons, loon, kingfisher, and multiple visits by a bald eagle , all from the living room window.
Excellent hostess who goes far above what would be expected.
Only ruff part of our stay would be the road to house. I now know where potholes go to die. Upside is that it keeps the speed of the
limited traffic that travels the road very slow.

If it wouldn't have looked bad, I would have given "accuracy of listing" four stars instead of five. Because this place was even better than the listing. The chairs looking out at the water (inside and out), the sense of peaceful isolation even though it is so close to town, a massive bathroom, comfortable bed, sparkling clean everywhere. We also had a blast playing pool , though we played very badly! The stairs up are steep and open; our little dogs were not fond of that part. Closing those steps would take this to an even higher level. Thank you for a marvelous stay!

Pretty skies and sunrises. Good ventilation. Small kitchen and needs a better pot for boiling pasta. Cotton sheets and blankets, which should be a given but often isn’t. Dog friendly. Need to be comfortable climbing stairs as is a second floor walk up. Easy access. Very clean. Generally well-appointed. Quiet neighborhood on gravel road that is good for walking.

Tranquility Base is a peaceful, quiet, lovely spot. Even on hot days, the cottage stayed cool thanks to lots of open windows and salt-scented breezes off the St George River. View and sunsets were spectacular. Beds and furniture are comfortable.
If you rent this property you should know it doesn't have a stove or oven. Cooking is accomplished with two plug-in induction burners (plus a microwave and toaster oven). They work fine, but limit what kind of meals you can create.
Stephanie, the property manager, was responsive and great to work with.
Overall we enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from it all.

Definitely a great secluded spot. We enjoyed watching the tide roll in and out, saw a bunch of lighthouses which my wife loved! Super close to Marshall Point Lighthouse. Enjoyed the trip!

Love St. George Area!
We enjoyed our stay however, we were very concerned about a second egress for safety reasons. Overall, it was a nice apartment to stay in. Beautiful kitchen/refrig/wash dryer with lots of supplies. Bathroom was beautiful but would have preferred curtains on the windows. Beds/pillows very comfortable and spacious closets. The apartment was semi clean/some dirt under beds and under rug with dog hairs. Disappointed that dock/water was not available or that we couldn't access the land shown in pictures. Was expecting a BBQ but it's a fire pit instead and too large to carry from under stairs and I wouldn't cook food on it. Enjoyed ferry to Monhegan Island to hike, Puffin and Nature Cruise and Castle Island Preserve. Wine tasting at Savage Winery, The Causeway Restaurant, Owls Head Transportation Museum!!

Fantastic stay, can’t wait till next year!
My family and I (two adults, two young kids, and a dog) had a wonderful stay at Tranquility Base! We can’t wait to come back text year. The place was immaculate when we arrived and we had everything we needed for a comfortable week long stay. There was a binder with house rules and thorough instructions for appliances, etc.. which was great to have. Stephanie was fantastic. There was a car accident down the road that caused a power outage and Stephanie was there right away to get the generator on. Otis point is a very quiet private road in a beautiful area, I loved sitting around the campfire and listening to the loons out on the water. The kids found hundreds of hermit crabs down at Drift in beach, which is dog friendly, and at Clark island beach. We also enjoyed searching for beach glass.

Great visit.
Stephanie was a great host: very quick in responding to questions, came right over when we had a problem connecting to internet. The house was very clean and comfortable. It is aptly named --Tranquility Base-- as it was very peaceful and we made lots of trips in and around the area, always happy to return to base.

Excellent location and views of river and islands
Owner did everything to make this a comfortable stay. A bottle of wine and treats please access to herbs and seasoning condiments for cooking were provided. Close to
Port Clyde where there are kayak rentals charters to Monhegan Island, a fantastic ice cream store and a general store

Tranquil and convenient
The location was peaceful and quiet. It was close to areas of Port Clyde, Camden, and even Acadia for doing day trips. The garage apartment was well furnished with all needs-plenty of bath linens, detergent, paper products , dishes and cookware. The bathroom is especially large and well done. There were three of us in mid-70’s and we managed the stairs just fine.
However, we were not able to view sunsets as well as we hoped, and did not have a grill. All in all it was a great getaway.

Great view, nice yard. The apt. was comfortable and roomy. The pool table was fun to have there to use. The bedrooms were sufficient but the quilts were dirty and we were the first people staying there this season.

Just the getaway we needed!
Tranquility Base is a lovely property on a gorgeous piece of Maine coast. We loved playing in the "backyard" at low tide, looking for crabs in the tide pools, or just relaxing with a book in a lawn chair overlooking the ocean. We had fun visiting the nearby attractions, including Drift Inn Beach, lighthouses, and the town of Rockport. The only complication, once or twice, was in planning meals - local restaurants had some odd hours (one ran out of food by dinner time!) and the "backyard grill" mentioned in the property description was actually a firepit with a grill covering. But that was minor -- we loved our time here and we definitely look forward to coming back!

Enjoyed Tranquility Base
The privacy and seclusion of Tranquility Base was perfect for our short getaway to Maine, especially during this time of necessary social distancing. The main house was unoccupied during our stay, so we had a lot of privacy, though the I think this setting would still be very serene under any circumstances. The apartment has plenty of space for a family of 4 and the pool table was great entertainment in the evenings. We prepared many of our meals on site and it was very helpful that the owners have accumulated pretty much anything you would need in the kitchen to do so. The location, though remote, is close enough to all of central coastal Maine to make day trips to destinations up and down the coast within two hours, including Acadia. As fairly regular visitors to Maine and knowing our way around some, Tranquility Base was a very nice, quiet location to enjoy summer in a state we love to visit.

Quiet and Serene - loved it!
Open concept, with pool table, living room and mini bar area. A great getaway with our young adult sons (18 yo, 21 yo). Very comfortable. Spacious, clean and modern bathroom. Very quiet and private living area, with many things to do in the area. Property manager was super helpful and responsive. Loved it! Thank you Stephanie!

Lovely and peaceful location
We loved our stay! It was peaceful, relaxing, and lots to do. We enjoyed kayaking right off of the property. Port Clyde is near by and Belfast is a short drive. Both are quaint areas. Our dogs enjoyed the near by trail. The house is beautiful and has everything you could want. Thanks for the hospitality!

Quite good. Kitchen very well supplied. There is no stove but we weren't planning gourmet meals and there were two induction cooktops and an electric skillet. Bathroom and towels were excellent.
Location was great, right on the water which is what we wanted, but not ideal to get to. A quiet and lovely place.

From the moment we arrived until the morning we left we were amazed, grateful, comfortable and peaceful in this lovely location. The cleanliness and extra touches were much appreciated. As AirBnB hosts we know how important the little things are to folks. You made our stay most enjoyable.

Great location, tranquil, clean and well appointed.
Four of us stayed in this spacious loft for three nights.
Beautiful location, right on the water with amazing sea breezes.
Check in was EASY.
There are binders as well as carefully placed notes around the property that are extremely helpful.
The loft is well cared for and VERY clean with soft freshly scented linens and towels.
The kitchen is well equipped with a full size refrigerator that makes ice and dispenses fresh cold water. Hot plates, an electric skillet, coffee pot and a toaster oven make breakfast lunch or dinner a breeze to whip up. The kitchen also had all of the little things - paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, salt, pepper, spices, etc.
We had a great time, thanks to Sarah and Stephanie for ensuring everything went smoothly. Thanks too for the extra effort you put in to making sure the loft is enjoyable and care free.
Thank You.

Somewhat noisy rental
This is a relatively clean property (some dust and some dog hair on the furniture) apparently in the midst of renovations. Wish we had known they were having work done on the property- we would have chosen another place that would have been more peaceful. While the workers didn’t have to come in the unit, they were around making a lot of noise. Also it says there’s an outdoor grill though we couldn’t find one.

Sequestered Tranquility, Jul 31 to Aug 4 2018
We got lost finding the place. Then thinking if we would ever find it before dark. After a few minutes, we found the dirt road. It definitely was narrow, hoping we wouldn't run into any animals. Then there it was, Tranquility Base sign!
We quickly unpacked the car and made it up the stairs, it was a bit shakey but stable. After looking around then seeing what was in the kitchen, we realized we didn't have any food for dinner with us. We made do with cheese and crackers and a bottle of wine that was graciously left for us in the fridge! Thank you!
Enjoyed the awesome view from seating area window as the sun was going down. Went outside to take some pictures and got eaten alive by mosquitos, lol, I forgot about spraying myself with the REPEL Deet spray that was in the closet. Thank you for having that available, it made my outdoor excursion enjoyable.
We took so many pictures, just like a tourist!
Loved the pool table, I played a game but my little dog didn't like the banging of the balls, oh well, it was fun to play again.
The fan did create a cross breeze to cool down. But we weren't used to the humidity so we used the little window AC to quickly cool off, Wow! That little cooler sure does a quick job! We rarely used it after that first night since the fan did a good job as well.
There's no one below us, a garage, so we didn't feel like we had to tippy toe on the lovely hard wood floors throughout the apartment. There was someone in the main house but we never heard any noise from them and likely not from us as well.
The internet is really SLOW! I was warned of that so I used my phone's data but the cell towers were nowhere near us to get reception.
We loved the bathroom and shower, it was very nice. Toiletries, shampoo, conditioner, body wash (which we loved), all provided. The towels were very soft.
The washer and dryer was a big plus with soap and dryer sheets. Huge fridge with ice and filtered water dispenser.
We didn't use the 2nd bedroom since our daughter was not able to join us. We enjoyed the privacy and quality time together at this place. I looked forward to waking up early to watch the crab boats go out and set their traps as the fog burned off.
We drove all the way from northern Utah to attend the Rockland Lobsterfest and enjoy Bar Harbor. Four nights of long lasting memories was spent here in Tranquility Base. Thank You for the hospitality!

Nice place but...
Really could use updating. Especially with the kitchen. They offered us hot plates. If you want to have a proper breakfast it took forever. Windows were very small. You want to enjoy the water view but it was difficult. No nice deck to have a coffee or enjoy a glass of wine just a tiny room with two small chairs. Bathroom was nice but they need to update the rest of the unit. Totally lacked charm:( For the money we probably could have done better.
Another issue was internet access. Almost non-existent. It was very slow then cut out minutes later. Probably a low-cost dsl.
Message to owners: It takes money to make money. Update and make your guest happy. Six good reviews don't make you in this market.
Upside is nice eateries like Luke’s and The Happy Clam in Tenants Harbor. Port Clyde was interesting.
We really should have done our due diligence. We're looking into other places for our next visit.
