Cute cluster of cottages. We stayed in Agave Chapel and our friends stayed in Agave Nest. Each had it's own personality and was charming.
Pros: house was clean, bed was comfortable, area was quiet, living spaces were perfect for chilling on the couch and watching movies after walking around in the heat all day. Dining table perfect for playing card games with friends.
Cons: The big bed and nicer bathroom were upstairs and it was just too risky for us to try and get up and down that spiral staircase. It made the second floor virtually unusable for us, which is a shame because it was so nice. The air conditioner kept us awake the first night - when it kicks on it goes through a whole cycle of sounds, and makes the doors crack and creak until it gets going. By the second night we were more accustomed to it and it didn't wake us up every time.
The courtyards were both vastly undersold amenities and could be the crowning jewels of the compound. But they were tired looking and seemed uncared for. Just blowing the leaves and debris out, arranging the chairs in groupings around the firepit and in other areas with some brightly colored throw pillows, potted flowers, and a water feature would make them go from a 4 to a 10. We did spend some time out there with the Agave kitty and gave her food and water both days.
Overall the location is PERFECT for walking around Main street but being able to quickly get back to the comfort of the house. Being able to park in the private area is also another huge bonus. Overall, if I had a family reunion coming up or a large group event I would DEFINITELY book Agave again.

We had a great stay at the Agave Chapel. High ceilings, windows across the entire wall in the den, and Saltillo tile gives the place a character all its own. It was clean, very spacious, and well appointed. It’s easy walking distance to Mainstreet. We loved it!

We enjoyed our stay at Agave Chapel. The house and furniture were very comfortable. The only downside is the downstairs bathroom is outdated and a bit dirty.

Almost perfect and I'm persnickety. Love the location except for Thursday morning at 7am when the garbage truck came to empty the neighbors dumpster which is directly under the window. Boy that was a rude awakening, and yes I'm chuckling, it got me out of bed early that's for sure. The Chapel is very comfortable and is in a super location with off street parking. Other than Thursday morning it was a quiet location, you get to hear faint music from some of the closer music venues which my husband and I enjoyed on our walks back t9 the house. We ate at several places during our stay all we walked to the farthest being Otto's which we would not go back to again. Our last night we went to the H-E-B (beautiful store worth going to) and picked up some of their take and bake meals wanting to stay in and catch a movie after our busy few days. Check in was easy and we'd stay here again.

We loved the location and the cottage was charming. The bed is super uncomfortable:(. Also, a group sat outside our bedroom window until about 4:00 a.m. talking, etc. That's not acceptable. However, withstanding the constructive criticism, we would stay again.

Loved the location to all the shops! Loved the Agave Chapel!!!

The good things:
1. Location is great. Super walkable to everything on Main.
2. The common spaces are super cozy and comfortable.
3. There is no cleaning required upon checkout.
The not great things:
1. The upper bedroom is a loft so you can hear everything.
2. The lower bedroom has no doorknob, the door does not close all the way, and there are spindles at the top, which means as someone is coming down the staircase, they look right at the bed in that bedroom.
3. The outdoor space is not very usable or comfortable.
4. The kitchen is sparsely stocked with utensils. We were able to cook a full dinner, but we brought our own roasting pans.

The only negatives on this property is the kitchen was sparsely furnished with pans and utensils. Also the smoke alarm is in the kitchen and went off every time I opened the oven.

Loved the Chapel(house), but the patio, which could be outstanding, was virtually unusable. No firewood for the fire-pit, fountain not working, furniture dirty, and gazebo needed maintenance. Only neg comment on the house is the door to the bedroom doesn't close. Otherwise very good.

This house is in the perfect location to the Main Street shops and restaurants. The house itself was spacious and safe. Morning coffee outside on the patio the right way to start the day of. We will definitely be back.

The property looked exactly like the photos and was everything that we expected. Close proximity to Main St, restaurants and shopping. The only issue we had was the doors not being sealed and the breeze coming through. Other than that we will definitely book again in the future.

Absolutely a lovely 2 bedroom/bath within walking distance to Main Street! Very clean, comfortable, and has so much charm!

Well positioned. A little misleading as i thought that it was on a wine farm which it is not. Could have more cups and crockery. The only complaint was the Thursday morning trash removal by the city was at an absurd hour and loud without the concern of residents, not the fault of the BnB. That said clean, neat and i will definitely return on my future business trips.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and the Agave Chapel is great as far as location. It’s within walking distance of Main Street. If I owned it I would add some items to the kitchen such as pot holders, mixing bowls and baking pans but overall it was worth the money

Agave Chapel
Overall, they stay was great. The saving grace is the location. It's walking distance to almost everything. The house itself was just OK. It worked for what we needed, but it was not cleaned well. There were cobwebs everywhere. Our bedroom door was missing a door handle. A smoke detector was removed an just sitting on the kitchen counter. There was a lot of missing or damaged trim-work. It wouldn't take much time or effort to improve the property. For us it worked fine, but if you're looking for something "high-end," this might not be your place.

Lovely spot
This was a very nice accommodation with very comfortable beds, lovely seating outside on the patio, easy walking to restaurants. My only complaint was the lack of kitchen implements. No blender and there was not even a toaster. A simple snack would be difficult to prepare in that kitchen

Charming, but needs major TLC.
Great location near the main attractions in this historic town. The unit itself is spacious, but has some flaws. There is air conditioning, but the one thermostat control is located on the wall near the back of the first floor bedroom, so getting the temp right (either hot or cold) throughout the unit is very tough. The kitchen is sparsely equipped. Very little silverware, and the ones provided were of such bad quality that we bought plastic knives and forks to use. However, plenty of wine and beer glasses! Not so many coffee cups or drinking glasses. Other than a bread knife, not a single sharp knife -- paring, steak, carving, etc. Nada. The entire unit needs a thorough dusting in all the hard-to-reach places. Not good for my allergies. The cute courtyard with the fire pit highlighted in the photos is accessible through the first floor bedroom, but really is more a part of the unit next door. (Good way to meet your neighbors.) If you remember Twiggy, that is the preferred body style for navigating the spiral staircase (with or without suitcases). For two couples, very little sound barrier or privacy between the two sleeping areas. A number of burned out light bulbs inside and out. Pictures tell a thousand words, some of them on their website are pretty misleading.

Needs attention
This house had a great location and cute bones but desperately needed attention. There were missing knobs on furniture, , missing drawers in the TV Consol, cobwebs and dust in high places,, bad bed mattresses (One was lumpy and the other one dipped in the center), dust on dishes stored in hutch and dirty to use, missing paint on scuffed walls, and minimally stocked dishes and cooking utensils. We didn’t feel like we could have cooked a meal with what was there and coffee cups were few unless you used the dusty ones on the hutch. They did supply complementary Keurig pods and check out was easy. This house was obviously managed by an agency and I doubt that the owner had been there recently.

Girl's Weekend
We enjoyed the house because the location was walking distance to Main street and the pizza parlor across the street was perfect! The lighting was a bit dim and the spiral staircase very steep but overall the house worked well for our group.

Time spent
Perfect location to get everything in. The place was spacious and clean, but has spiral staircase and the master is upstairs. The bottom bedroom can only fit a queen. Lighting in all rooms was too dim and the air vent in master didn’t work. Other small things were not great, but would still do it all over again at the same place. Overall experience was great

Great Location
Right in the middle of everything you want to do downtown, we walked everywhere, the property was fantastic, clean, easy and convenient and we'll be definitely booking our stay here again for our next trip to Fredericksburg!

Wonderful
One block from Main Street. We walked everywhere. Cute bar with patio fireplace 1/2 block away. Two great bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. I can’t wait to return. Perfect for 2 couples or 4 friends. Even a family with children (not babies) could enjoy the space. Recommend!

Roomy & Nice!
Excellent location. Enjoyed sitting on patio at night with wine. Spacious. Property needs some TLC maintenance. Comfortable overall.

What a location!
Such a great stay! The property was darling. Staff was responsive. Fair warning, the bedrooms don't have much privacy, as the beautiful vintage doors did not latch and stayed slightly ajar. Location was 1 block off main, where the resturants are sublime!

Great location but needs attention to detail
This was a girl’s trip for a few days of exploring the Hill Country. This accommodation is in a perfect location within walking distance of Main Street and quiet - except when they empty the dumpsters at 5:30 AM. Hopefully, that’s not very often and obviously out of the property owner’s control. The kitchen supples were a bit lacking. There was n o toaster and a minimum of cutlery. I would think that most guests at least eat breakfast there before exploring and we missed the toaster. It would also be good if the description of the home emphasized the very narrow spiral staircase. It was difficult to maneuver even the smallest suitcase up and down and could be hazardous to some guests. On the positive side, there were plenty of towels and the TV was a smart one with plenty of options. It would have added to the experience if a short history of the Chapel was provided since there is certainly a story behind this property.

Good location
We loved the location of this property. It was an easy walk to shopping and restaurants. It was also nice and quiet at night.
The only downside to this property was the upkeep. It really needed a deep clean.......windows, floors, etc. The shower in the downstairs was a kind of grungy too. Light bulbs were missing and half the blinds on the french doors in the living room were broken, so it gave the appearance that the property just wasn't kept up that well. Overall, it wasn't anything that couldn't be overlooked, but I was a little disappointed that it wasn't kept in better condition since it has so much potential to be just perfect.

Quick getaway
Very happy with the accommodations and the proximity to Main St. It was confusing because there was more than one property. I called the home office and never received a call back. But I did find the right one. The fact that the property was not on the street. was a poser. And we are 75 plus, so it was a bit trying. But loved the place and so did our friends. Would book it again for sure.

Girls week out was as great as it could be. This property is in a wonderful location and beautiful set up. Thank you.
