The building was beautiful. Retaining a lot of its original features. Room was lovely, nice big bathroom and bed was comfortable. Excellent staff. Very good breakfast .

Breakfast excellent ,room very good apart from tv remote ...didnt complain until we left so that might have been sorted, location very central and within easy walking of everything we wanted to do
Checkin option, wasnt obvious you could do face to face check in (which I would have prefered )

The hotel is buzzing and friendly, the decor has really been thought about and dogs are extremely welcome. (Having stayed recently at another central hotel which isn't nearly as dog friendly as it claims to be, and is run down and staff rude and disinterested, we were really hoping this place would be better and it was. Much better!). The staff without exception were helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. Thank you, we had a really good three nights and we've already booked to return.
Some better bread at breakfast would be a nice touch.

Excellent location for the convention centre.
Very comfortable rooms
My room was small and not a great view.
9.0
Friendly helpful staff , for a single room it was a reasonable size with everything I needed , breakfast was great with a good choice , beautiful bar and restaurant area and nice outdoor space.
I was on the first floor which was fine , corridors were a bit dark and lighting sensors were slightly slow

Nice breakfast could do with more gluten free options
Asked for quiet room but room was adjacent to busy main road caused lack of sleep

A great location, an amazing hotel with lots of character and very helpful and friendly staff.
The bar area was full of character- wow!
Lots of tables not cleaned at breakfast making it difficult to find a cleaned table.

The staff really made it a special trip, they were all genuinely keen to make it special and were very friendly and helpful, but not over familiar.
Dust on the lampshade hanging from the ceiling in our room!

some helpful staff and good breakfast. Good sized bedroom
Bedroom and en-suite lacked cleanliness. Street/traffic noise throughout the night. Seemed to lack management

Location
Filthy skirting boards you couldn’t miss them! Thick dust on bathroom heated towel rail. No butter on Saturday morning at about 8.40 am we were all waiting whilst the chef cut some up. We waited about 15 minutes. So everyone who was waiting the toast was cold. When we didn’t get a card by yesterday for a free drink as we didn’t have house keeping the guy at reception who I told seemed a bit dubious asking me questions then saying well a card should have been left in your room . The wait at the bar no matter what time you went was at least 15 minutes & bar staff wouldn’t remember who was next so you had to keep note yourself & tell the staff when you were next to be served. Breakfast hash browns looked very pale /uncooked. This morning at 8.30 am no yoghurts.

Not much. The decor was OK, location is nice ie Harrogate
Having to wade through 100 punters to check in at the bar.
Paid for a room with Bunk beds, didn't get that.
£21.00 for 2 drinks
Smashed my head off the very low hanging metal door magnet device, which sits lower than the door frame itself. The doors are smaller than normal anyway too, no mind your head signs or anything. (Photo attached) I do have a cut on my head from this too.
Told the staff but they seemed disinterested at best.
Breakfast, had to wait for bread, had to wait for butter, had to wait for orange juice. Not enough staff to help. Cooked breakfast was OK, I would say a premier inn is miles better, for the price we paid for this hotel I would have expected much better. Dogs allowed in the breakfast area, which is nasty, we even saw a dog eating food off the table. Shocking.
The bathroom window looked half painted. The rainfall shower head was not connected properly and was squirting water everywhere. (Photos attached)
Parking at the back was poor, very limited spaces with no prior warning about this.
To Sum up, very overpriced at £165 for a night, could have had a better stay at the travel lodge

We use to visit the George 1 or 2 times a year. We do love the new entrance but so disappointed that it does not open into a welcoming reception. We had to walk through 2 bars to find the check In point which was not nice. The place is a maze looks lovely but just does not flow. The room was poor only one bedside table and the floor sloped. The window rattled and the shower was filthy. Dirty black sealant coming off ground in dirt around the tray. The breakfast was very poor not the same quality we were use to getting when it was the George. There is not a good variety of bits like grapefruit prunes good yogurt nuts and seeds. We only saw 3 staff all the time were there. The staff member that checked us in was not very friendly or informative and when checking out we had to go and find him as in the kitchen bringing the cooked food out. We would stay every December for our wedding anniversary as Harrogate is beautifully decorated. We will been going again this year but will not be staying in the Harrogate Inn.
Reception at the bar it's a maze

Lovely hotel. Excellent staff. Beautifully refurbished . We have stayed here twice before but this is the 1 st time since most recent refurbishment.
We were in room 133 and although the room was decent I was disappointed that the window was frosted and we were unable to even see what the weather was doing or even see any sky.
As I was paying for 2 rooms because I took my sister and brother in law away as a thank you, I did ask for front of hotel facing rooms which they got and were very pleased with , so we felt a little peeved to have the back room with no outlook at all.

Location perfect
Staff delightful
Shabby decor walls and shower area.
Tv didn’t function correctly
Pipes knocked loudly keeping us awake.
Breakfast was not very nice. Ok for carnivores!

The bar area was great, and the hotel is in fab location for restaurants and bars.
We stayed in August 2023. However, on this stay the rooms appear to be a little tired already. The pillows were hard, the mattress was very uncomfortable, and only one bed light was working.
The breakfast was a disaster, most of the food gone and was told to take away to my table and eat what I had got then come back to the buffet to get the rest of the cooked breakfast..

Can highly recommend and will definitely return. We loved the very central location. The friendly staff were super efficient. Food is very good. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and tasty and we also had a lovely evening meal. We were able to park on site but there was also parking available opposite the hotel if we hadn't found a space. Both charges are the same.
There was nothing to complain of but just to mention our cozy double room had a shower but no bath. Worth asking or paying the slightly higher price of the next grade room if a bath is important to you.

Location was excellent being near to the baths and pump room. Also close to the town and railway station.
Breakfast was good but could have been better e.g. eggs cooked fresh to guests choice, rolls as well as toast and croissants.

Lovely room, great location, fantastic bar
Breakfast
Went for breakfast at 9.30 ( Sunday morning). Only a few sausage , 2 dried out eggs and probably about 30 beans. That was it. When I asked a member of staff if more was coming out, his reply was……we serve breakfast until 9.30. Everyone turned up at 9 so there’s nothing left! No apologies, nothing. Even though the menu says if you walk in off the street, breakfast is until 11.30am. So for an extra £25 me and my wife had cornflakes n toast.
Who the hell stops breakfast at 9.30 on a Sunday morning??
Shame really because it’s a cracking place to stay. Unfortunately, feeling a bit ripped off, il find somewhere else

Great refurb
Great location
The only lift was out of order (so soon after a major refurbishment)
Bar staff poorly trained
Late night noise from street. Revellers and traffic.

The location was great, very central for Harrogate,
Staff were very helpful and check in was easy, we parked behind the hotel in the car park it is £10 per day but safe and secure.
The bedroom was clean and modern with good storage facilities.
The spectacular part is the bar and restaurant areas which are gorgeous especially as they had just put up the Christmas decorations.

Where it was situated.
Having to wait ages as my room key card wasn't programmed properly.i couldn't get into my room on the second day.
I also found it a bit disconcerting that there were 2 steps into my room. I felt it could be quite dangerous opening the door straight on to steps.
