A large hotel with some dated features, but large room with all required for a comfortable night stay.
No response from the hotel group customer service following an unhappy incident. Despite two attempts of contact.
Stay was blighted due to this.

Rooms whilst a bit dated are larger with all the comforts you want and need. Bed was quite good. Located near to the town centre without being in it. Lots of parking. Breakfast was nice. Rooms were quite. Staff very helpful. Exceptional price for what you receive.
Nothing.

Stayed to attend friends wedding also in hotel, aswell as reception etc. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient at all times. Food was excellent and all had a great time. Near town centre, but ample parking.
Room decor a little tired and scruffy, in need of a revamp but still perfectly clean and comfortable so no major issue.

It was difficult to find the car park exit

food was plenty and good. Vegetarian options sucked tho. I have to ask for specific thing, come on. It's 2023
Imagine visiting a retired folk home in the 1980s. That's what your room will be like.
Bed wasn't very comfortable.
Loads of random noises in pipes etc.
And the bathroom. Jee, invest in some modernisation guys.

not much. it was dated and dirty. I tried to move rooms on arrival only to be given an even worse room.
the place is set back in the 50’s and costs an arm and a leg. don’t go there

This is not only a very clean and comfortable hotel, spacious and well laid out with a truly Victorian elegance, but must have been the best value for money break I've had in years. The room was great, the checkin was at a time to suit me, and the breakfast was excellent - well cooked and generous portions, and very filling. The location is also perfect for Harrogate (right in the centre) and there's an excellent car park with lots of space. The staff were also excellent. I would cheerfully have paid double and still felt I was getting value for money.
The only thing that went wrong is for some reason my satnav thought the hotel was somewhere north of Ripley, so took me a ridiculously long way round to arrive in the wrong place. If you're using an iPhone, don't use the address, just head for the town centre and it's on the road north to Ripley about 300 yards on the left.

good breakfast

Breakfast was great. Proximity to the town was good. Top floor room was quiet and away from traffic. Great view out back and lots of morning sunshine. Windows opened well and great fresh air intake.
The heating in the room was excellent. Especially after a cold day out and return from the evening visit to town
The chef serving breakfast was not very engaging or cheerful. I felt guilty asking him for breakfast.
The room.....
Dated and in need of attention. The wallpaper was not peeling but the edges were something to be desired where they met up.
The light fittings were rickety and loose.
Carpet had seen better days and had various stains.
The hot water took an age to come through to the shower head. And I mean an age. Had to run the hot bath tap to increase the flow to the room till the it ran hot and then turn the shower on. Took a few minutes.
The bed sheet had a large stain on it, but was obviously a fresh. Call it a clean faint stain.
The shower rail was loose.
There was an onset of mould in the grout of the tiles and silicone around the bath.
However, this was a comfy twin room. With all the negatives listed here with this room, it didn't detract from it being a bolt hole to rest, wash and sleep. This we did and we were well rested.

A convenient location for walking to the town centre. There was ample parking at the hotel when we stayed in early January.
The once luxurious hotel is dated and needs to be modernised.

Breakfast wasn’t included, but really should have been for the £180 p/n price
Everything. The room was small, extremely dated, we had a very small window overlooking a skip. The double bed was small and uncomfortable and sleep was disturbed by a lot of loud (boiler) type noise all night. The reception desk wasn’t manned most of the time and when we did speak to staff they weren’t particularly friendly.
