Good location for central Exeter. It's got car parking which is good. This is a typical Mercure hotel. A little business like but comfortable and well priced.
Staff were inattentive at reception. They don't answer the phones and chat amongst themselves. Slow check in because they were too busy chatting - felt disorganised.
3.8
Comfortable mattresses, modern and large bathroom; breakfast tea, chocolate, coffee and biscuits in the room.
We had to wait 10 minutes to check in because the room wasn't ready.

Location and quality of upgrade room. Front desk service by the chap who served me and even brought up a jug of water since I was luggage-laden, was second to none - he’s a keeper - I work in HR and he’d be on my talent list for sure. He anticipated and read my tiredness from driving with a considerate tone and approach - almost second guessing what I needed to make my registration and stay perfect. Liked the swimming pool too as good length and amenable facilities compare to other hotels. Thank you - I’ll be can for sure. I’ve stayed at other brands under the same umbrella company and it’s ace.
I wasn’t charged for parking or swimming due to the water outage but I’d suggest these chargeable should be listed as such on the website for not charge at all. It was a frustration to learn these are normally chargeables.

Location
Bed was incredibly hard and uncomfortable. Also I specifically requested twin beds but was given a double.

Very welcoming staff. Lovely large bright lobby area with hydration lemon and cucumber water.

Lovely stay. Lovely room. Amazing service and price
The pool and jacuzzi were slightly cold

The location was perfect for our time in Exeter. The hotel was very spacious and the room we had was comfortable and quiet.
I am coeliac so found the evening menu very limited in choice. The breakfast was fine with all the available food clearly labelled.

Swimming pool how accomadting you all were
Ummmm there wasnt anything to be honest

Brilliant location, with a sizeable and comfortable room. Bathroom especially was lovely.
Spa/fitness facilities were reasonable.
Our trip coincided with a large group at the hotel. This group were continually running up and down hallways making lots of noise and generally disrespecting other guests. Staff appeared to be finding it difficult to ask this group to be more respectful, although I can appreciate the difficulty this presented.
We also booked our stay on the premise of the spa facilities being included in the price. This was not the case, as recently as charge has been applied. It would have been good to have this communicated before.

Good facilities, not that bothered about some of the dated bits in rooms. Nice bar, spa etc for the money
Expensive bar drinks

Close to central Exeter
Dirty bathroom
Mismatched furniture and old
Poor reception had to wait after check in time as room was not ready.
Previous clients rubbish still in room

Rooms were clean and comfortable, facilities were lovely and the staff were always happy to help, nothing felt like it was too much :) breakfast was also great
3.8
The hotel looks lovely on arrival with a nice big open fire and grand foyer. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We used the pool and the sauna which were really nice and quiet.
3.8
The staff was friendly
Unclean was mold in the shower and in the coffee maker, was not provided with a remote control and got woken up at 3am with someone knocking on the hotel door trying to get into our room because they was drunk, couldn't use the swimming pool because it was to full when we wanted to use it. Bedroom was not great looking very dated, marks all over walls and wall paper. £15 to park the car in the hotels own car parking is very expensive.

Great location. Clean rooms and nice staff. Felt very welcome.
Breakfast could be better.
3.8
Hotel lobby was beautiful on arrival. Swimming pool was nice, particularly just before close when few others were there.
Room was smaller than expected for the price and was in need of some maintenance, nothing major but small things such as dents in the wall and missing handles on cupboard made an otherwise nice room feel a bit disappointing
3.8
Made you feel very welcome very clean at the hotel and the food was hot
The Jacuzzi was very cold, and the change is needed to be a bit more cleaner

Spacious entrance…location…spa facilities though we didn’t have time to use them..
Corridors with cleaning equipment in them & carpets need abandoning.

The breakfast was good and the facilities were great!
Nothing - it was great.

Location and staff service
Dated and the rooms were not the cleanest (multiple stains on carpet, windows not the cleanest). I have stayed here a number of times and were it not for the location, and convenient parking, I would choose another hotel.

Pretty much everything. The room was comfortable, clean and just the right size for a couple staying for one night to attend a function. There was no rush to get us out in the morning and upon vacating our room we were able to relax in the lounge with a pot of tea before commencing our journey home. The staff were friendly helpful and efficient.
I cancelled a booking with a competitor hotel and booked with you for a number of reasons including cost as you were slighly cheaper. However, when I took car parking into consideration there wasn't a great deal of difference monetarily. I see charging for the car parking as just a way of making money which doesn't add value for the customer. Parking should be complimentary for hotel residents.

We have stayed there before and have always enjoyed our stay.It has good facilities and is in a great location.
It was disappointing, the decor all looked a little shabby, the towels were thin and frayed there were no cushions or throw on the bed, just plain sheets ( very basic).

The room itself was a good size. Other than that there was little to recommend it.
Our room was not ready at the check in time.
The bedroom windows had no sound proofing and fitted badly - they need double glazing.
Fitness area - this was really disappointing - no one on reception, all areas shabby and in need of updating, changing room properly dirty and unpleasant. Calling it a "spa" is a stretch.

We requested twin beds in our booking and got a double. We had to re visit reception and request the correct accommodation. Not good
Also had to pay 15 pounds car parking this on top of the hotel cost is daylight robbery!

tired but ok
gym and spa not good

The twin beds are a bit small but confortable. The room has a good size and the hotel is in general quiet even when full. The swimming pool, spa, sauna and gym are totally professional and not too busy. With profesional changing rooms, dedicated staff. Like a regular good gym. A fantastic addition to your trip. Check out time is late (12:00) and check in early (14:00) you could ask for an addition. Great bar and terrace. Location is perfect.
Small beds. Expensive breakfast (did not try it). But clean and confortable. Good bathroom.

Location, price, car parking
The breakfast area was a muddle with poor selection of bread, overcrowding of patrons round a small area. A simple way to improve would be to have a better selection of quality bread, preserves in pots or sachets and serve tea in pots at the table.
3.8
Lovely entrance and breakfast
Rooms look a little out dated and needed attention , furniture has seen better days ,although bathrooms lovely
3.8
The location and proximity of parking was excellent. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable with particularly good bathrooms and the range of choices and quality of breakfast first class. We also enjoyed a relaxing drink in the spacious and comfortable bar area in the evening.
No problems at all.
3.8
Comfortable room , arm chair in room, walk in shower, as requested. No trip hazards
No water in room would have liked more tea bags and milk.Would have liked more service at breakfast.

This is a lovely hotel well placed in the city centre. The facilities and staff are fantastic. The Spa is a wonderful way to start the day or just chill and relax.
Unfortunately, both me and my partner have checked out today, feeling a little tired due to being very uncomfortable during the night and not getting much sleep. The room was very hot due to the current weather and even tho the air-conditioning was on it did not have any cooling affect at all. After reading and checking the settings many times it just was not working to a point where the best solution was to just turn it off. Such a shame as I would highly recommend the hotel otherwise
