The location is fab, the building itself is gorgeous I understand it’s an old coaching house that had an extension. We loved the garden was so big and lots of space to let my little dog catch her ball - and did I mention it’s dog friendly! That’s the best bit of all. Dog friendly room on the ground floor, they charge and extra £20 and put a bed and a bowl in the room. Moulton brown toiletries in your rooms. The pub food we had was delicious.
The room we stayed in really dated, with an over the bed canopy in blue and white stripes that is just so tacky, plus with dogs staying you need as few fabrics as possible to absorb smells. A blind in the bathroom with horrible fringe tassles. Mould on the curtain that I showed to the receptionist on check out. The drinks and food are really really expensive, so once you’ve spent £180 on your room, the meal in the pub (not even the restaurant but the pub) with only 1 alcoholic drink each was £140, plus a couple of drinks at lunchtime, we’d spent £400 on a nights stay, and you could go on a holiday abroad for that.

The evening meal was excellent. The Breakfast was lovely - great choice. The staff were very friendly and professional.

We booked this quite late on a Saturday evening and then arrived soon after, but this was not a problem at all. They managed to get us in to the restaurant and we just quickly changed and headed to the bar and then dinner. The food was fabulous, the staff are fabulous and the old buildings were fabulous! We got chatting with other guests in the bar which was really nice. Breakfast was wonderful... So we were really happy.
I found the bed really uncomfortable unfortunately, else I'd love to have stayed an extra night.

Had a lovely large room in the main hotel, our room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet
It took an hour for our food to arrive in the restaurant

Breakfast was lovely. Good value for money
Magnolia walls. I get great anxiety when in an enclosed space with magnolia painted walls. I endured it that night. Apart from that it was ok

Full of character. Quality fixtures and fittings. Hotel helped us get the right room for our needs although we didn’t book direct. Food in restaurant sublime.
Would have liked to have had a pre- dinner Sri k in the bar, but were guided into the restaurant lounge and had to wait a while for a drink.

Beautiful hotel and location but beware they have weddings and parties and despite ringing the hotel before we left home and told there were no parties there was one on Saturday night which was extremely loud and we had to keep our windows of our room closed to make it bearable in July!! Not what I would expect for a 4* hotel and paying £250 a night. Also staff training not high on the list of priorities as the bar service was amateurish- have been offered compensation which I am still waiting for
See above - too pricey for what it is come to the area every year for the Air Tattoo will be looking elsewhere for accommodation next year

Very quiet rooms and they were of an exceptional standard, with lovely coffee and tea available.
We were only warned there may be a party on the night we checked in once we had paid for a nonrefundable room, and this cause us some worry. The description said this could be a problem at weekends, and we weren't expecting it on a Wednesday. We actually didn't hear any music late at night.

location . surroundings atmosphere
slightly cold . I had a big old single glazed room in main part of hotel . it was beautiful but the single glazed small pane metal framed windows aren’t ideal for keeping heat in . the thick lined curtains helped at night , however I wouldn’t let this put anyone off . the upside was wonderful views and when sun came out it was gorgeous. when I was there it was quite windy

The food for an evening meal and breakfast both days was good and the service was excellent. Really nice waiters and waitresses who knew their stuff. I had beef fillet and it was cooked very well.
Our first room had a disabled shower in it ( apparently I had booked this but not sure why I would do this as Im not disabled) and the shower was a wet room that was very old fashioned, drain cover was very old and rusty and just olf fashioned. The bedroom was actually very pleasant. We asked reception to move us, which they did, to a room which had very little natural light, we had to keep the blind down as otherwise people can see into the room all the time and was very noisy due to people above us and outside. The bathroom was a bit better, shower over a bath, but there was a metal thing that was loose around the towel radiator and there was dust around the radiator and pipes that was clearly visible ( so not difficult to clean). The bathroom was old fashioned and needs updating.

Everything went well could not have been better. We have already recommended your hotel to my brother & sister-in-law from Dumfries, Scotland and our son & daughter- in- law from Worcester whom I believe are both looking to book for the end of April.

It is very charming and I loved the roaring fires

The setting of the hotel, and the sumptuous breakfast.
One of the young female waitresses were unbelievably rude, and bad tempered. I also overheard her slagging us off to another colleague! Someone unprofessional like this should not be working in a client-facing role. Rest of the staff were pleasant, however, although I wouldnt say the welcome from the receptionist was outstandingly warm or anything on arrival.
Bathroom was freezing! And the mould inside the bedroom cupboard was gross - sort it out! Supposed to be a four star hotel...
