It was simply amazing! A bit of adventure, seeing the monkeys so close to me, I also saw iguanas, peacocks, beautiful bi

The location was excellent a few steps to get to a wonderful beach. Nice restaurant and swimming pool. The staff was lovely, always smiling and helpful. There was a lot of vegetation and all the rooms had tea/coffe facilities. The beds had mosquito nets and the hotel was providing the spirals that burn to keep the mosquitoes away. There was grass and stepping stones. There were 2 areas to practice yoga: one was roofed and the other in the open area under the palm trees.

The toilet did not have a door for privacy. There was a curtain instead that many times was blown by the wind while one was sat on the toilet. The lack of door also facilitated the access to monkeys/ birds into the bedroom as half of the bathroom was not roofed. Also there were no panels in the balcony, so when the straw blind was open everyone in the pool, courtyard could see us. We used our sarongs to get some privacy. The shower head needed replacing as some of the holes were blocked by the rust and the water was going everywhere!

The most amazing experience!

Absolutely everything! This place is like an oasis and as soon as you arrive, you don’t want to leave! It had everything we could possibly want and exceeded our expectations. Talalla itself is quiet but it has everything you could need.

Relaxing time, beautiful nature

we really enjoyed the room concept and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The yoga teachers and massage staff really know what they’re doing and take their time explaining, if necessary. It was awesome to sleep in an open bedroom (even if we got woken up by monkeys stealing our snacks or generally wreaking havoc a couple of times) and their food was sooo good, especially the pancakes in the morning are a must!!

We loved staying here but if you’re looking for nightlife or evening activities there’s not much to do in the immediate area. You have to get a tuktuk and drive at least 15-20min to get to nice (western) restaurants and bars. If you’re looking for pure relaxation, however, then this is the place to come.

a beautiful retreat. Super spacious. The pool was fabulous. Definitely somewhere to come and completely relax!

the only thing I would say which is probably part of the experience - I was in an upstairs room and while I love the outdoor concept, if you’re not a real heavy sleeper you might have some issues with sleep as you really do hear everything!

A peaceful stay next to an incredibly beautiful beach

The location is incredible the beach in front of the property is stunning and is being kept clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely. We had food at the property and it was very tasty and great quantity wise.

The rooms without A/C were swarming with mosquitoes (although there are many things provided to protect yourself, they somehow managed to get inside the bed. However, the staff immediately changed our rooms (upon availability) to a room with A/C. The price point for the hotel is a bit high for what you get (basic room and amenities). However the stay was very pleasant.

My favorite spot in Sri Lanka

Amazing atmosphere with some of the best yoga teachers I had so far, wonderful rooms, comfy beds, really good and fresh food and super friendly staff. Also nice crowd of guests coming together. The unbeatable location right on the beautiful beach makes it just perfect

Pricing is on the upper scale while worth it in the end…

Great place for chilled holiday

Great location, amazing swimming pool, very nice and attending staff, daily yoga classes, well priced menu in the restaurant. The rooms are rather basic but clean and comfortable.

The breakfast menu was the same every day. Not much choice for kids.

Great place for a calming stay, be aware of the open structure of the rooms

The restaurant serves great options for a healthy lunch! Also the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool is very calming and nice, and at the seaside it is always windy which makes it a great place to relax on a sunchair.

I think the room is quite open. Which is the concept of the hotel of course, but the downside is that you need to be very aware to keep possible mosquito's out and that every noise of a room nearby is hearable. There is no airco ( which I knew before I booked), but that is good to realize. I loved to hang out at the beach garden area but I also noticed that cleaning that area of the hotel could be better. I saw a used diper on the grass for quite some time, which should be seen by the staff.

Exceptional

Talalla Retreat is a beautiful property, set on a long, quiet beach - perhaps one of the best in Sri Lanka, though I can't claim to have seen them all! The staff are kind and friendly, while giving guests the space that they need to unwind. Overall a very nourishing atmosphere for anyone looking to recharge.

A very relaxing and calm atmosphere. Very nice getaway after some hectic days. Great facilities and friendly staff. Clean rooms, nice pool and great yoga instructor.

A piece of paradise

Heavenly. The staff were exceptional going out of their way to make us happy from fresh flowers on the bed in the morning to cooking us local speciality food for breakfast. Their is wildlife everywhere from Peacocks, to Monkeys, to Monitor Lizards. The property is spacious and brimming with beautiful tropical foliage all of which banks onto a deserted beach.

Paradise

We absolutely loved our stay at Talalla. It was a shame that there weren’t many dining options in the town due to Covid but we managed to have a great experience on the resort. Rough seas in august which made it a little challenging to swim with the little guy but the pool made up for the rest.
