Nice stay close to Funchal

Very nice host. Good parking. Great location near Funchal. You can walk to the city center but I do not recomend walking back up. The pool is a bit cold but with the tempretures we got (32 - 38 C) it was nice to cool of. Airco worked great!

Some small things like there was 1 of the 4 blinding curtains missing the privacy curtain was stil there so it was not a big deal. And we dislike the designer kitchen faucet that splashes. All in all a nice stay

A wonderful relaxing holiday in a very sizeable apartment with spectacular views

The apartment was extremely spacious, well equipped and tastefully furnished. The view from the sizeable balcony both looking down over Funchal and up to the mountains was spectacular. Our host Louise was charming, extremely helpful and always available if required.

Nothing. To experience such a magnificent view inevitably means the apartment is on a hill, but we did not find this a problem, and the centre of town is only a 15 minute walk.

Very relaxing and peaceful spot just out of the town centre

Really spacious and comfortable villa. The location is nice and quiet with fabulous views. Louise was a really helpful and friendly host. We walked down into town a couple of times as well as making use of the local buses which stop either just below or just above the property. One of the local buses takes you straight to Monte

Excellent stay, a lovely taste of Funchal.

Stunning wraparound views from all rooms and balcony onto Funchal and port. Light and airy, tastefully furnished, with colourful original artwork, and lovely surroundings - it’s a villa that’s been split into three apartments on separate levels, with a common entrance area with small garden and Asian statues, and a swimming pool at a lower level terrace with sun beds. Very friendly owner lives next door if you have any questions or problems.

Nothing major other than in order to get such a view there’s a fairly steep hill to be negotiated, so if one doesn’t have a car, you need to plan your day round the buses that go to the Santa Luzia area, or take a taxi. Maybe a couple more English-speaking entertainment channels for when the weather sets in, but that’s a minor quibble.

Couldn’t have wished for a better first stay in Madeira.

Fabulous views from terrace. Extremely well equipped and very comfortable. The property owner was on hand at all times if needed and was very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. She arranged transfers and basic food items before our arrival and was keen to make sure our stay was the very bedt it could be.

The panoramic views from the living area and the space. Bed was very comfortable. Just a short walk into the centre of Funchal. Information and directions from the airport were comprehensive. Great tips for restaurants.

Lovely, well appointed accommodation. Would happily return.

Really lovely cottage, well appointed and comfortable furniture with a great shower. Looking on to garden, but it does have a fabulous view from its private rooftop terrace. Pool is about eight breaststrokes long, very cold (in January) and salt water, I loved it! Other apartments look lovely too! Hosts very friendly and had thought of pretty much everything would definitely stay here again if returning to Funchal.

Location on steep hill, but pretty much everywhere is. Road is quiet but cars zip down. A bit far to shops and restaurants if not that mobile, compared to where we are staying in Funchal now, my wife recovering from fracture found it difficult so always got taxi back. The fit will be fine. But frankly the accommodation makes up for it!

Awesome, private getaway close to the centre of Funchal

Great view of Funchal away from the city centre - but this meant that climbing up was a serious work out! The cottage was fully equipped with the basic necessities, and boasted an awesome 360 degree view for the New Year’s Eve fireworks. The host, Louise, was also friendly and approachable and gave recommendations during my stay. I appreciated the on site laundry which was useful given the duration of my stay (1-week). Multiple bus services will take you close by to the property from Funchal city centre. You just need to time the buses using GoogleMaps. Otherwise, there is also parking onsite if you decide to rent a car.

Situated slightly outside of Funchal City Centre, and takes a steep climb to reach. Would recommend taking buses 19 or 33 which stops a short walk away from the apartment.

10 gloriously relaxing days in an outstandingly comfortable apartment.

One of the finest apartments we have ever stayed in: very spacious, beautifully appointed and with a huge, comfy bed. The views of Funchal and the ocean from the apartment are fantastic. And the terrace gets sun almost all day. The free parking was a distinct bonus in a city like Funchal. Louise was a perfect host, helpful and attentive but also discreet.

Nothing at-all. Some may prefer to be closer to the sea and shops, but I guarantee they won't find a home from home like this apartment in that part of town.

Exceptional

The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is privacy, peace and tranquility. The accomodation is located in an area far from hotels full of tourists. The cottage house is well furnished and has great amenities (cookware, toaster, iron, extra TV channels...). The wifi is excellent.

The street to the accommodation is quite steep (but away from road traffic). The Cottage House wasn't as luminous as the pictures.

Fabulous villa with unbeatable view and the most friendly hosts we've ever met.

After booking the villa my husband and I were a little confused about the concept of 3 villas in one building. Louise (the owner) patiently explained how they are situated (they're all private with a separate entrance), sent more pictures, and even offered us to cancel the reservation with a full refund (even though officially it was past the deadline). Her communication and attitude made us feel comfortable coming. And we are glad we did. Our plane landed late at night and Louise went out of her way to make sure we arrived well. The two weeks in the villa were unforgettable. We extended our stay and it was still hard to leave. Louise and her husband Raul were so nice, helpful and made us feel at home. And the villa is GORGEOUS! Very spacious, clean, well equiped, everything listed in the description was available, and the Wifi is fantastic (~100m up/down). The terrace is huge and the view is breathtaking. Most of all, what a friendly host family!

beautiful villa with all comfortables. It is not far from the city, but walking on the hills for the first days is difficult, the third day is already ok. Everything else is super. extremely nice hostess Louise, very helpful and gave good advice on where to go and what to do. we are extremely satisfied

Amazing villa, amazing views

We had an amazing stay at Number 15. The villa is beautiful, clean, well appointed and the views over Funchal from the wrap around windows and the extra large balcony are stunning. Louise and Raul are excellent hosts, friendly and approachable, offering us useful tips and restaurant recommendations. This trip was postponed from December, we are so glad to have finally made it here and definitely plan to return.

Lovely hosts, fantastic property

Louise and her husband (Raul if I remember correctly) were really lovely people, very welcoming and easy to talk to. They helped us whenever necessary. The property was clean, comfy, and cosy. Several places to sit inside and outside, all with their own charm. Funchal is a fabulous city, beautiful buildings, streets, streets and alleyways, perfect for exploring on foot.
