Great for families & dog owners but expect to pay for the privilege

Location, great. And being able to have your dog, amazing!! Male manager fantastic, female one scowled at us often & I tried to work out why so I could fix it but the offish behaviour continued.

“Apartments” are much smaller than photos. Was relying on the laundry, but was continually out of order. Great to be able to have your pooch, but for $30 a night? On top of $200 a night for a one room, seemed excessive, I spent $1300 for 5 nights to have my two girls, myself & doggo.

Staff went above and beyond which was great, lovely people. Clean and simple accomodation along the strand. Value for money.

The check in desk closes at 6pm and staff are offsite from 6.30 onwards. Not ideal for travellers coming in late despite the key pickup and drop.

There were people smoking close to us although it was banned. Maybe a designated smoking area downstairs?

Happy with the accomodation

Everything we needed but the stairs were no good for 2 people with bad knees hips and ankles.

Convenient distance to cafes and beach. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Stressfree, and enjoyable stay. Friendly and helpful staff.

Loved the friendliness of the staff, the location, so close to the airport, beach, shops, restaurants and bars. Would definitely be great for families with small children as it’s close to water play areas on the beachfront/strand/esplanade. Also loved the history of the Yongala Lodge.

It would have been great to have a second TV in the second room/interconnected.

Friendliest staff we have encountered during our time in Queensland.

The location was perfect, walking distance to shore line was very close, easy walk to restaurants, room was very comfortable and staff very amenable, room was very clean. Would totally stay there again.

How could you fault this place, impossible. It was a short taxi ride to the Lodge, from the Greyhound drop off.

Beautiful, convenient place to stay with excellent staff

Excellent location, right near the beach, and close to shops. Very spacious, clean rooms with all the facilities we wanted. The customer service was outstanding — they really could not have been more helpful. We would highly recommend this place for staying on Townsville.

I enjoy my stays at Yongala Lodge ( over 30+ years now).

Have stayed here before and love everything about it, location, cost, amenities, staff.

Not really able to open windows for fresh air because people/guests drive unnecessarily large diesel vehicles and insist on 1: backing into the car spaces outside the ground floor rooms and 2: running their engines for extended periods while they unload/load/sit looking at their phones/who knows what. The staff at Yongala Lodge are not responsible for ignorance and poor manners of drivers though. Perhaps reinforcing for guests that such behaviours are unwelcome? or reserving the inner carpark for smaller vehicles only? ( sedans, station wagons, motorcycles - nothing diesel powered?)
