A spacious apartment in a good location

The apartment has a lovely view of the harbour and over Funchal. Its terrace is big and the bed is very comfortable. Facilities in the kitchen are good, too, including a great oven and washing machine.

A slightly larger sofa would be good. Also, the terrace doesn’t have furniture as shown in the pictures. It would have been nice to have sun loungers and more comfortable places to sit, including a canopy/umbrella.

Our stay at Berna Apartment was amazing. We are hoping to stay their next time we come to Funchal!

We loved how spacious the property was and that it came fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. We even had access to a washing machine and oven! Duarte was very helpful and friendly.

Exceptional

The appartment is very nice. You have there all what you need. If you come with a car, there is a garage in a house. Appartment is on a 6 floor with lift. Has a big terasse with a sea view. Near is a small shop near the pump station. To the town you have walk 15-20minutes.. as on Madeira hills ..up and down. I think the location is very good point for trips on Madeira.🙂

When is not windy can you on the street feel the dust of cars.

Very enjoyable stay again😎

This was our second time staying in the Berna and we loved and enjoyed our time there. Very accessible to downtown. Berna is a lovely bright apartment with everything you need for a stay in Funchal. Very clean and comfortable. Melissa was very easy to deal with when I had to contact her. Looking forward to spending time there again hopefully next year😎

Don't hesitate to book!

AMAZING value. It's a BEAUTIFUL, good sized apartment that is very well taken care of! Hosts are amazing, responsive and accommodating. We received a bottle of port, honey cake and a tour of the apartment. They have a washer with soap, drying rack, closed wardrobes with hangers, iron/ironing board, plenty of light, very nice patio. They have a good end parking space but being American, it was still hard for us to get in and out...i put the blame on us for this one though. Lastly, we did hear a short barking session from a neighbor's dog but other than that, we found it quiet.

For some reason the apartment seemed very humid. We were there with a rainy day which may have caused it be more humid than usual. But it was easy enough to open all the windows. We did need to keep the fan on all the time in the bedroom. The immediate area seems to be undergoing gentrification but you are not too far from the center, water.

Fabulous Funchal

Beautiful apartment. Views were gorgeous. Fabulous terrace. Had everything you could possibly need. Warm welcome ..wine and cake was such a thoughtful extra

44 nights on two occasions can't be wrong.

We've been holidaying in Funchal regularly, more or less, since 1986. Seldom has we found it so cold and wet as that year, but 2022 became a good contender. Last time we stayed in Berna we were happy always to find a shadowed spot on the terrace. This year it was the opposite. We moved with the sun throughout the day. Else? As all visitors already have written; Excellent living and friendly hosts that took care. Bus-stop outside. Monte (20, 21), Madeira Shopping, Miradouro Pico Dos Barcelos, Lido (13, 48) etc. just a GIRO and some splendid views away. Horarios do Funchal is the limit. In 2018/19 the apartment was unfortunately already partly booked by others. NoGo. Still, 44 nights on two occasions speaks for itself, we should think. Obrigado, Arne e Siri.

In days like this, february 24., one can only hope there will be another opportunity to visit this beautiful island. Be it at Berna or elsewhere.

Lovely!

This apartment was AMAZING! Melisa waited for us at the building and showed us the parking garage, the apartment, gave us recommendations. She had maps, advice, and everything we needed. She was lovely! The apartment is very spacious, has a big terrace with a great view of the city, a cozy living room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a very comfortable bedroom. Everything looks good and modern. It was the greatest accommodation we had during our travel through Portugal and Madeira. We could've moved there!

Everything was wonderful! We got a few days with rain and fog, but this is not related to the apartment. We stayed only 4 nights, and we really want to get back next year!
