Very cost to Takimotokan with access to the Grand Bath Onsen which was just across the road. Hell Valley was about 100m away. Very close to shops and Bear Park.
The wifi was a bit slow but usable

Location. Walking distance to eateries and Jigokudani (Hell Valley) and short drive to Oyunuma pond.
Overall finishing, from curtains to bed covers, toilet, wall, etc need some serious facelift. Parking is free but in the next (same owner) hotel complex. In-house onsen is really small and the ones in the other larger hotel complex are much better; only issue is to put on the required clothes for onsen and walking across the main road to the next hotel; probably not nice feeling during winter. Toilet is not built for showering; and it's best to do this in the onsens.

Onsen at the hotel was not in usable condition But the Huge Public Bath was open and free for us to access. This was an Awesome experience. It is centrally located very near to the local attractions of Hell Valley, Sulphor pond, Gyser, ropeway for Bear-park and bus st. is 5 minutes walking distance only
Bathroom is very congested and their onsen not usable.

The hotel's good location, friendly staff, nearby attractions, walking distance to convenient stores and restaurants, and enjoyable onsen experience were positives.
There were noticeable issues with the condition of the hotel room, including outdated rooms and bathroom rust stains.

The location is excellent! And we love the free access of Onsen at the hotel opposite!

they changed us to stay at the main building and notified beforehand. Our stay at dai-ichi takimotokan and the onsen experience were really good and beyond expectations. I enjoy all the trip.

My original booking was at the Takimoto Inn (now known as Adex Inn) which is the smaller sister inn of the famous Takimotokan. Due to sudden renovations, we were allocated rooms at the much bigger and luxurious Takimotokan.
I'd known about the praises surrounding the hotel, but I wasn't aware of the reasons why until now. It was fabulous. Wonderful onsen. Delicious buffet. Excellent location. Beautiful interior and facilities.
First, the onsen. I've visited the hot spring facility before as I had stayed at Takimoto Inn in 2019. There are many different types of hot spring to soak and relax in. The most recommended one is the sulphur onsen, which is guaranteed to make your skin as smooth as silk. The outdoors bath is amazing too and even more so if it happens to snow.
Second, the dinner buffet. At only 4,400 yen per person, it was definitely value for money. Unlimited crab legs, sashimi, and ikura (salmon roe). The wagyu beef was absoutely delicious and all the desserts were delectable. My most favourite dessert would be the yuzu ice-cream. The only drawback was that you had to pay for drinks, though water was available for free.
Third, the room. It was beautiful and warm. The beds were comfortable and everything seemed to be designed for the convenience and comfort of the guests using it.
The breakfast buffet had very limited choices and was definitely not worth 2,200 per person. I wish they would serve kaisen-don (seafood rice) just like most traditional onsen hotels and offer more Western dishes, such as yogurt and cheese.

Location is really convenient.
The lack of proper cleanliness.
The bathroom needs to be renewed.

Takimoto Inn has been shut for Covid so everyone is transferred to the main hotel - certainly no problem as no increase in price. Easier to use the main hotel's onsen, but can't use the Takimoto Inn onsen. Parking also easier.

Location. Great onsen. Pool area had a great slide for my 7year old.
I forgot my iPhone charging wire. I paid over 22,000 yen to stay there. I think they could’ve sent it to me free of charge. They could’ve thrown it in envelope and just pay the postage.

Great location and convenient to use as a base for further exploration. It was clean and the staff were friendly. The room was nice and warm all the time. The onsen was also lovely.
Just small things, like the noise. The walls are thin and the doors heavy and loud so you hear your neighbors all the time. The bedding rustles so light sleepers might wake up every time they turn. Breakfast times would benefit from a later slot, I would have liked to sleep in on my holiday. For breakfast (across the road) the Japanese dishes were excellent and varied, but the western options left something to be desired. There were also no knives or forks available so good luck if you’re not good with chopsticks.

Even when they change our reservation from Takimoto Inn to Dai Ichi Takimotokan, they let us know with enough time and the service was excellent. The installations of Dai Ichi Takimotokan exceeded our expectations and Hells Valley is a beautiful place to visit and an excellent experience.
The only think I didn't like about Dai Ichi Takimomokan was the restricted times of the different restaurants in the hotel. But do to this COVID times is probably understandable.

The staff was extremely friendly and the onsens were fantastic with so many to chose from. They were a little more tolerant with the tattoo policy which allowed us to partake without having to cover ours with bandages.
The hotel was a bit dated and didn't have all the amenities open most likely due to COVID and low tourist visitors. I would have liked to see it when it was fully running.

Takimoto Inn closed for covid quarantine, so they kindly replaced us to a higher rank Dai-ichi Takimoto-kan at no additional fee.
Of cause, we did not pay for and did not expect the level of service of Dai-ichi Takimoto-kan.
I liked pool the most.
Breakfast is exceptional.
No internet in room

Location was great and so was the daily breakfast and free access to swimming pool and many onsens at the hotel across the street, Daiichi Takimotokan Hotel.
No air con which made it very difficult to sleep. Place was old, dirty, and needs major overhaul.

Roomsize was good, beds comfy. The big and free onsen was just across the small street.
Hell Valley was a 2min walk away.
Bathroom was extremely small, rather shower downstairs in the sento.
Breakfast was ok, not very corona conform, if there are many people Id skip it to be honest.
Dinner looked good but we didnt eat in the hotel that evening.

The staff are very friendly and speak excellent English. They were able to accommodate my needs without a problem.
The bed was very comfortable. Close to Hell Valley walking trail. Access to the Onsen across the road was much appreciated. My first Onsen experience was 5 star. Thank you to the staff for the encouragement to go!
