It was located at the top of a hill with a great view of the sea and cliffs. The hot water bath was nice and warm although it is not onsen water.
Furnishings were a bit dated and dusty. Bed had a mattress protector that was quite lumpy. It was quite a distance to drive from town to the hotel, so it's really for guests who wants to stay away from the city centre. Dinner was good but breakfast wasn't great.

I love the in room onsen, and your breakfast

One of the kind with rich history, unique and well maintained. Property on top of cliff with our in room hot bath facing open ocean!
Weather could be better :D

Some breakfast food are nice
Hotel service are not good, we texted and request a service vehicle going to hotel but no one replies our messages and we started to walk from the bus stop going up to the hotel with our luggages in the winter season. It's so difficult to go and checkin there! so much struggle and stress! Fyi no public vehicle are available going up to the hotel! If we did not pay in advance I will definitely cancel my reservation and find some hotels that have a good services. In addition the hotel is quiet old and less employees will be serve your needs. And our room stinks I don't know whats that smell. Anyways please try to be proactive and responsive to the guest. Thanks

-the room is perfect, quite cozy and spacious for a private spring spa inside the room
-snow view from the window in the morning
-heater working well
-great shampoo and shower gel products
-shuttle bus
-wondering if they could serve japanese food instead of western food in the restaurant
-it was forbidden to wear flip flop to the restaurant and the staff did not mention it at the reception. it was awkward
-no small convenience store inside the hotel when it is located on a mountain
-the shuttle bus drivers are generally friendly but there was one driver who was very pissed the while time, i was scared

the manager on duty at night was very friendly and helpful
it’s in the middle of nowhere, decoration is dated, no one at the entrance to greet you and assist with luggage. we booked a room for 4 but somehow they only included breakfast for 3, and I was not allowed to purchase an additional breakfast for my 4 yr old, which was just ridiculous.

they had a coffee machine in the lobby
very dingy and outdated. Beds horribly uncomfortable. Windows had condensation on them so we couldn’t even see the view. looked very different from photos online. extremely dissatisfied

Come for the views, stay for the private bath (overlooking the ocean if you can)
Open up the windows and enjoy the view and serenity of having you own private bath in every room

Great view of the sea. Interesting dishes at the restaurant with wines made in Hokkaido. Close to the Otaru Aquarium (Otaru Suizokukan).
The hot water in the bathtub had some small bits of rubbish floating in it. Perhaps it’s a normal condition but I didn’t like it.

The staff are very friendly. We love the view and the food specially the service. It’s worth the price.

Location, view (especially from the bath), staff, wonderful meals, great service, shuttle service is needed and provided. Coffee and hot chocolate with snacks available. Great bathroom.
Very tired furnishings in room and around hotel. The viewing platform was closed and looked in need of repair and painting. Could only open the bath room window.

Set in a beautiful ocean side, grand decoration, exceptional services from staff. We had a ocean view room, it was absolutely incredible. The decoration in our rooms was grand, like some posh families in the victorian times. The ocean view was absolutely spectacular, not to mention the private bath. Staff was attentive and polite, really second to none, only in Japan. Transportation is good, but you do need to plan ahead booking the shuttle from the station to the hotel.
Nothing, but if I had to be picky, the lighting could be brighter.

Ocean view room. Amazing vantage point for ocean & distant mountains. Could see birds & possibly sea lions, needed binoculars.
Enjoyable set dinner & breakfast. Excellent service.
Nice public bathing as well as private bath in room. Was able to open the bath sliding window once the snow outside was loosened with warmth from inside.
Music & lights controlled from massive over king size bed.
Hotel is aged (outdoors) Indoors would have been very lux in its day, still a great experience.
Location only good for Aquarium in the winter, did a little of the nature walk in the snow. However shuttle service is available & it’s about being in the hotel.
Had we known there were spa services, might have arrived at check in time.
