Lovely garden with plenty of seating
It’s getting a little tired, needs a bit of attention to the paintwork in the rooms in particular.

Warm welcome (and send off) from friendly staff. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Good tea & coffee provisions. Breakfast was good.

The breakfast was of good quality and my fried eggs seemed better than l cook at home presentation was good. Ithink the coffee and tea didn't stay that hot and sauces could be on table to start with it but overall very enjoyable thanks chef.
Lack of sound proofing with room above. Everything else lovely

It was full of character, our room was very comfortable & the staff were very welcoming
The only comment we have is whatever the tables in the restaurant are cleaned with leaves a tacky residue.

Beautifully furnished, comfortable bedroom with everything you need for your stay. The shower, in particular, was fantastic. Very welcoming atmosphere and staff were particularly friendly. Lovely breakfast with a good choice of vegetarian/vegan and non vegetarian.
Only downside was the location on a busy road. Our bedroom was on the front and our window was right on the road so very noisy. There are bedrooms not facing the road, possibly higher rate, so best to check if road noise bothers you.
Also, if you plan to walk into Minchinhampton, there's no pavement from the pub, just an uneven, muddy grass verge for quite a way until you come to a more built up part.

Lovely staff, especially Ben and Chloe. Nice location with amazing food.
The room was not as clean as it should have been. (dust, biscuit crumbs, staines on bed throw)
A bar / room snack menu would have been good.

Breakfast was excellent. Room was pleasant and warm. Clean towels each day. The dining room is a really nice place. All the staff are helpful and kind, particularly as I was a single person on my own.
This was my second stay here in the last month. The noise of the road from this room was a little disturbing. Double glazing might help.
The bathroom could have been cleaner around the wash basin.

Really cosy interior, very friendly staff and a fantastic restaurant. The big breakfast was superb!
Would have been good to have been able to turn the heating down in the bedroom (but admittedly I didn’t ask at reception!)

Used for a bed as at a wedding close by
Unfortunately the breakfast was not very warm.

Very picturesque, traditional with a lovely modern twist. Staff we absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble
Only downside was the sealant around our sink was coming away and dirty. some of it had peeled off and dirt was stuck in the gaps. It just needs scraping off and resealing.

quite clean and tidy.
nothing to walk to, a bit isolated

The outdoor area is lovely and with the lovely weather you could really make the most of it. The main hotel area was clean and the gentleman on reception was very pleasant on check in.
Breakfast on our last day was not great, there were no croissants left, there was no water available which was much needed in this 36degree heat. Our order was wrong but we didn't wish to complain as the poor lady was working alone and it was busy. There was no one available except the lady serving breakfast to check us out. The staff were very friendly don't get me wrong but not quite the level of service you would expect at the cost of £140 per night. Our room was located on the ground floor by the entrance for the staff, it was extremely hot when we visited (not the hotels fault) but we had to close our curtains to get ready for a wedding as it meant the staff were sat outside looking directly into our room. It was extremely noisy above us. We could literally hear every movement that the people above us were making when they walked around their room which did wake us up very early.

The location was great for what we needed as it was close to a wedding in Painswick. The hotel garden was also very nice
We arrived and our room had been 'cleaned' but not very well, the bed was barely made, hairs all over the duvet and pillows and hair in the toilette, and dirt on the floor, I asked to be changed rooms and showed a member of staff the room, he agreed so we changed room from 8 to 5 after he has also seen the room. Room 5 was better but to be honest not great in terms of being clean. The noise from the room upstairs was so loud and continued into the early hours of the night, also when we checked in there was no mention of what time breakfast was served, just easy basics
I also asked about booking one of the pods outside and was told this has to be done via the website which I can't understand why as paying guests this cannot be done via the actual hotel
Ultimately this hotel needs a serious revamp of rooms and needs to have a much higher standard of cleaning, I a tally felt dirty when I came home

The room was a great size and we had to easy chairs you could use as well. The TV was a very good size. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities. The decor was very nice in the rooms with an excellent size shower.
We had our evening meal which was excellent. The service by the two young men was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was very good with a great selection.

Great choice. The hot breakfast was beautifully cooked.
