Happy to recomend this house for a short or long stay - fantastic position!

The location is excellent with the main windows facing the beach and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen was fully equipped and everything worked. it was a bonus to have a spa after some of the long walks in the park. Great light filled living areas. No traffic noise as the home is at the end of a cul-de-sac.

Some maintenance needed soon as the house is starting to look a bit tired. As we were at the end of our tour we wanted to wash and iron, but the iron and board needs replacing. Would have been nice to have some books, or DVDs to watch etc. But these were very minor items really.

did not feel well maintained, got allergies from dust mites. garden wasn’t maintained at all so one could hardly see the water and beach. had to call them in order to get access code to the house..

Great place in a great location but sterile management

Beachcomber is a luxury beach shack with great views over the ocean, in a quiet cul-de-sac. Everything worked well and was lovely and clean. Mobile phone reception was good despite the more isolated location. The Freycinet walking tracks (about 20 minute drive away) are spectacular.

While it wasn't a problem for a fit family, access to the beach was via a rough track (tricky to find because there are no signs) that was muddy and slippery while we were there, which is worth knowing if you have any mobility limitations. The house is well set up but there are no welcoming items like milk in the fridge or basic panty items. The house is also a long way from town/any shops, so you can't just walk around the corner for a cup of coffee or some bread and milk (and the nearest shops aren't open late), so make sure you have full provisions if you're arriving late. The emails sent by the company who manage the house contained three different addresses in three different emails and the text they promised to send on the day of arrival with details of how to access the property didn't eventuate. We had to trawl back through emails to find a phone number and ask them to send through confirmation of the address and the code for the lock box with the keys. It wasn't a problem - if you have access to internet/emails while travelling. It looks like the same company manage dozens of properties in the area, which would account for the mix up with addresses. Also, information about the property was only available electronically (not printed out at the house) and there's no wifi, so if you don't have a smart phone, you'll need to read it/print it before you leave home.

Lovely beach house in a spectacular location - just a bit of TLC to make it even better!

location and view were spectacular; one of the comfiest beds I have slept on.

Lacked a whole heap of personality and requires maintenance. bedroom tv not working (possibly just remote); bbq was filthy and requires a good clean; ice cube tray needs replacing; light fittings are just light bulbs and some basic covers would go a long way; not one book/novel or game in the house; sliding doors need attention; no dustpan or broom. The house itself is so quaint and lovely - just needs some attention.

Great view! Very nice to have a walking path to the beach :-)

The place was clean, well appointed, comfortable beds but there is no effort to make the grounds look nice. l get leaving it natural but maybe make the area around the front entrance look nicer. Pull the weeds and maybe a little raking the natural debris in that area.

The view from the main hall.

This property is not kept very well and could do with some upgrades. The photos on booking.com are probably taken a number of years back - the property is not as new as it looks in the photos. The electric blankets do not work, the bathroom door should be fixed, the TV reception is bad - these things could be easily fixed but they have not been. We did not receive the code for the key lock through SMS and hence were not able to get into the property until a few calls later. The reception to the property wasn't great. Overall experience was not great.

handy position to access Freycinet NP and activities leaving Coles Bay

Bathroom door would not stay closed, Oven hot plate has no warning light for when it is on, no numbers to indicate heat level, not that it actually got hot

Great view from a house in a nice quiet location close to the National park.

Barbecue on deck not in good condition & gas bottle was empty. The deck needs a bit of general maintenance re some nails sticking up etc. The yard needs a tidy up..

Barely a pass mark view & bed only thing that saved it

* Clean bedding & comfortable bed * Nice view * Close proximity to attractions

* Toilet brush & caddy dirty * Beside & behind toilet unclean * Washing machine internal outlet full of soap & fluff scum causing it to come out over freshly washed clothes, clothes come out dirtier than they went in * No house broom to give tidy sweep, dust pan not always practical for everyone to be bending *Shower/Tap converter button doesnt work had to fill spa from shower head * Only to find when pressed jet button, water is shot across bathroom & couldnt be used at all. Spent 10mins cleaning up water *Shower tap leaks & screeches the entire time in use reverberates through entire house * No where in house description does it talk of or show stairs. Far from ideal for people with mobility issues requiring one level The desription on site actually states under Accessibility- Entire unit located on ground floor * Only 2 chairs on deck no table to be able to dine or spend time outside. Table seemed to be below deck in yard & dirty Really disappointed that I booked this property for a special occasion & specifically for the bath/spa & no stairs & they are the two things that were a massive let down. Pretty poor form. Had I been aware of these things prior to booking I would not have made the booking & taken my business to another property where my requirements could be fulfilled. The advertisement wording needs to be changed.

Good

Location is great. Short drive to Freycinet National Park. Impressive views of the coast line and The Hazards. We arrived mid evening to a heated home with ambient music playing which was considerate and much appreciated. Situated in a quiet court.

Bathroom needs updating and no wifi.

Oyster Bay Gem

The view is great and the bed was warm and very comfortable. It's close to lots of local attractions.

The main living area does get very warm in the afternoons but you can open up and catch the breeze.

Location, availability, the deck,

Needs to be upgraded really. Dodgy hole in the wall where the tv plugged in was concerning. So was makeshift tape around the power cord. Only one personal towel, one floor towel & one hand towel for three days wasn’t enough. No steak knives available. The doona cover appeared dirty. The lounge room rug was very stained & needs replacing. The kitchen, dining & lounge areas were at times uncomfortably hot. Air conditioning would have been very welcomed. Tv reception in both rooms was average and it was a shame we didn’t have access to Netflix. Tv remote in lounge room was falling apart. Check in was very late at 3pm and wasn’t reflected in our 10am check out.

Needs air con Dishwasher would also be a good idea Shade cloth over deck or an outdoor table that takes umbrella Not cleaned thoroughly prior to arrival, lots of stuff left from previous guests under beds, couches etc Tap in the bath/shower leaks Ants are a problem Most door handles need adjusting or replacing, don’t remain closed, including the the main front door.
