The property was clean and really well designed with good sized rooms and a convenient layout. We hadn't stayed somewhere with a hot tub before, found it a great success. Adults not really bothered about it, but for our somewhat combative 8 year old twins, they hopped in at the end of each day. They had no screens, nothing particularly to do but relax and chat to each other. Really a great thing. The holiday park has tennis courts, table tennis, pool tables, table football, indoor swimming pool (and an outdoor one, though we didn't use that). Tennis racquets can be hired from reception for £1 each for 2 hours! Though this doesn't guarantee use of a court if others have brought their own and get there first.
Kitchen is well equipped with pots and pans etc.
Comfortable beds.
Directions - the booking called it Eden Valley Lodge but there's no mention of that name on the map at the entrance to the holiday park. No road name within the holiday park. It's Dartmoor 10, nothing outside the lodge to say a name. Reception was closed on our arrival, but luckily we found someone who guessed where it was and was right. It's a small thing to do, but worth clarifying in advance.
Tom - the housekeeper. Never answered the phone when we rang (3 times). The wii in the property was missing a controller and nunchucks. It wasn't at all a factor in our making the booking, but once the kids saw it they were so excited to try the games they didn't know. Called Jane the owner who was lovely and contacted Tom for us, and confirmed he would get the missing bits and drop them in. He did, but not until Thursday in the day whilst we were out. (We had a Mon to Fri stay). I'd messaged him (not answering the phone) Thur morning to ask him to look at the lock on the patio doors when he dropped the Wii bits round, as we couldn't lock the door. When we got back in the evening, the new Wii controllers were in a bag hanging on the front door handle outside, and nothing done about the back lock, and no note. Unfortunately he also hadn't thought to put batteries in, and there was nowhere handy open at 7am to get them on Friday morning, so the kids never did get a 2 player game. Not the end of the world, but they were disappointed, and it was a little detail that would have made a lot of difference to us.
The hot tub cover is immensely heavy (maybe they all are?), and the insulation inside has all bunched up into a lump on one side that makes it much harder to get on and off.
Lastly, I'd messaged a few days before we left to ask about tea, coffee, salt & pepper, sugar, oil, loo rolls, dish cloths etc, but didn't receive an answer. I don't mind either way, but useful to know before leaving home.

The pub is great and the staff very friendly.
For the price we paid I would not expect to have an extensive list of issues.
The blind in the kitchen didn't work properly.
The main light and shaver light did not work in the upstairs bathroom.
The windows were dirty.
The main door didn't shut properly and didn't feel very safe even when locked.
The stairs and upstairs floor were very noisy.
The double bed upstairs was very creaky and noisy and every time you turned over the headboard smacked into the wall.
The bedroom door did not shut and we had to put something behind it to stop it coming open.
The breadbin lid in the kitchen had not been cleaned properly and was greasy.
Thr toaster Is not cleaned properly and smoke pours out of it when you use it.
The only small hairdryer we found was dangerous to use and had clearly not been checked.
The sink in the upstairs bathroom leaks when you pull the plug.
The sofas are stained and uncomfortable, very budget sofas.
The chairs to the table were uncomfortable to sit on and so we did not use the table.
The pictures on booking.com don't match how the "lodge" is,set out.... in the pictures the table is set out for dining, there is also a coffee table in the pictures with a vase of flowers on but no coffee table.
The hot tub was full of bits and had not been cleaned.
The barbecue was disgusting and needed a deep clean before even considering using it.
The WiFi hardly ever worked.

Spacious and comfortable. Clean and light.
Could do with more cutlery no oven gloves! Little board games and toys for children. Suppose to supply toilet paper it was not and no response when message left. Nice bottle of wine left. Thank you.

The property was set in a part of the site that was nice and quiet and also close to the entrance/exit so you didn’t have to go through the whole site to reach the property.
Although it was great to have a hot tub it was not something we could enjoy to the amount of flies in garden during the day that covered the bench, table and gate out there.
