Upside down house, one side of the house was french windows & balcony with great views of the countryside. Very clean. All the lodges look different, ours was Tamar 32 & it was great.
Only found out checking-in info a few hours before. Some things not working in the house (a few radiators, dvd player, lamp) but wasnt a big deal.

We booked two properties for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights for a family 50th wedding get-together. One property, 'TAMAR 34' was good, spacious and suitable for 6 guests. The other property 'MANORCOMBE 26' was not suitable for the six guests quoted.
The site was quiet and pleasant. Location near Gunnislake was great. Having the larger property TAMAR meant the weekend went well and was appreciated by all.
The pictures and details on the Booking.com web site did not reflect the properties allocated. We were not told properties until less than 24 hours before check-in - despite chase-ups. We were charged the same for both properties that offered significantly different facilities. The cleaning charges were excessive for only 3 nights, particularly as the Manorcombe floors and carpets were dirty (surfaces were clean). There were several small issues reflecting lack of management supervision (inc. poorly functioning front door lock, broken hoover & toaster, damaged and dirty shower tray front). We feel that the balcony balustrade was unsafe and rotten.

The bungalow had not been cleaned. Mould found in two bedrooms around window and on ceiling. Bins had not been emptied, sheets on all beds had not been changed. Dirt and dust under the beds, damp and dirty towels found screwed up and thrown on to shelf in airing cupboard. Kitchen floor and cushions on kitchen chairs found dirty, one kitchen wall cupboard door fell off. Sofas had not been cleaned. A part packet of medication tablets found in bedroom. A lady came around to take photographs of the interior of the bungalow to prove to the owner that it had been cleaned. We had to inform her that the place had not been cleaned before we arrived, although the beds had were made to look as if they had been changed and made up, the beds had in fact been made up with the same bedding from the previous occupants. Fire alarm failed to work. I and my family were really upset by what we found when we arrived,

Nicely decorated with a homely feeling.
In need of a decent clean. Found eyelash in our bed the first evening. Coffee cups poorly cleaned. The coffee machine has green mould in where you add the coffee in. The patio outside the main bedroom is dirty!

Not very clean. Damp towels, stains on bedding. No bin bags. Dried coffee granules In coffee jar. Dishes still in dish washer from previous guests.Dirty floor, curtains hanging off pole. Damp smell in lodge. No light bulb in lamp.BBQ outside was very dirty. Very disappointed. Will not be back.

We loved where it was situated and the surrounding were stunning!
Bed wasn’t very comfortable, the bathroom locks kept jamming they need to be looked at. Coffee grounds were left in the filter. Patio off lounge was very slippery with algae and the table and chairs off bedroom needed a clean and sweep. Sorry about the list but I feel it’s better to let you know. There wasn’t anything very major. Thank you 😊

Absolutely filthy place, looks like it never been cleaned. We arrived on Friday night as we had a wedding in the morning. Prepared to go to bed after 6hr drive and guess what, the bed linen was never changed…. Message the owner but claimed that sheets are clean…. We didn’t sleep all night as we we looking for alternative accommodation… avoid this place and I mean it!

Excellent setting and very well appointed cabin. The resort facilties are great and a visit to the Honicombe Arms a must.
It would be good if the pools stay open later at night.

The property has potential to be great with the right staff and management,
It was really unclean after a 6 hour car journey to be greeted with dirty toilets a kettle so dirty i couldnt use it, dirty crockery and cuttlery, hairs in bathroom. Even the towels smelt of cigarette smoke. One plus is they had changed the bedding and the cleaner was called back when i complained- although they put bleach down the toilet and still didnt empty bathroom bins or replace the dirty tea towel.

Everything. A very friendly staff and equally special was the Boss who saw that his guests never suffered for anything but should have a comfortable stay. My friends and my Son recommended me to book our stay here and we really did have a lovely and comfortable time.
.
Nothing to complain about.

I liked everything about the property and the location. There was a pub on site and a pool and gym so something for everyone.
I reserved a cot for my grandchild but there wasn't one there on arrival. I spoke to the hosts but nothing was done about it so the baby had to sleep in his pram the whole holiday time we were there which was really bad. The host acknowledged the complaint but nothing was done about it so was unhappy with that.

The only thing this place had going for it was the location
Where do I start? I have given the property 2 weeks to reply to 2 emails I sent them, one through Booking.com and the other using the email on their website, I asked them to explain the state of the property before I left any reviews. NO ONE has bothered replying so I'm just going to post.
On arrival the key was in the door and not in the lock box, so anyone could have entered the property before our arrival. The premise of a lock box is to keep the key(s) safe. There were no nets or blinds on any windows and I received this WhatsApp message from my Wife "Good morning sweetheart and Happy Fathers day. Just cleaned the place up a bit. we are never coming back to this place. There were dead flies on the bed and black mold marks in the shower. The bed sheets had marks on them, they looked like they had been dragged through mud. The boys couldn't go swimming or use the gym as you have to pre book.
My Wife and our 2 Sons plus their partners travelled down to attend her parents Golden anniversary in Tavistock and online this place did look nice, but their experience pretty much ruined the weekend. Sorry I couldn't deal with this direct with them, but as mentioned before, no one has been in touch now for 2 weeks.

Very spacious. Nice furniture. decked balcony is a bonus, shame it’s under a tree and the furniture is covered in sap. little patio area leading off one of the bedrooms, unfortunately always in shade because of the tree
tree blocking sun light all day.
I didn’t like the message stating the property is cleaned to high standard and that they take photos of how clean it is. when unfortunately it clearly hadn’t been cleaned very well.

nice layout, spacious, good Wi-Fi,nice terrace, close distance to swimming pool, pub and tennis courts
kitchen was dated and not cleaned properly, fridge was sticky and dirty, mould in the tea pot, dirty microwave,

It’s in a great spot. Communication about the stay was very good. It’s all well laid out inside and we felt welcome.
The terrace / deck hadn’t been cleaned. The cushions were dirty and the floor was covered in fallen winter debris from the tree.
Leaving a few tea bags, coffee and maybe a small bottle of milk wouldn’t cost the owners too much and would mean guests don’t have to immediately head out to buy some. It goes a long way towards making you feel welcome when small touches like that are taken care of.

Enjoyed our swim and the location of the site
The cleanliness of the lounge and kitchen in particular. Found nail clippings and a dirty top in the lounge and stains on the furniture. A food item had been left in the fridge and there was spilt milk in there. Kitchen sides hadn't been wiped down properly and the coffee machine hadn't been cleaned. Crumbs on the floor. I spent quite some time hoovering (which had not been emptied either) and cleaning which after a 5 hour trip did not impress me at all. The bedrooms were ok and all bedding and towels were clean but on the whole the property is very tired looking. Disgusted that over £100 is charged for cleaning.

Lovely comfortable holiday home with a lovely welcome pack. We really enjoyed the stay. Thank you
There was no grinder to grind the coffee beans that were left so we couldn’t use the coffee maker, but as we weren’t expecting this facility, this is not a complaint, just a suggestion! There were no obvious recycling facilities at the site.

We liked the layout, large living area, good size kitchen, good location for us. But we had family in the next village along. Nice Lillie Park to stroll around, water cascades are pretty.
Getting into property was near on impossible, had to ask in pub onside for assistance to which they only offered the cleaners details. I had to chase the cleaners and booking.com. I received the key code 1hr before 4pm! Very poor. The accommodation is very cold on arrival as you have to boost the heating and hot water. We arrived in the dark as winter and around 7pm so went to bed cold 🥶 not happy! Somebody delivered Milk so they could have put heating on for a welcome feeling.
Kitchen pans are aluminum, dated, dirty a d need replacing. Only 1 key for 6 person so very tricky if you arnt all together, which weren't. You receive a VERY long message about how proud they are of their cleanliness, however I had to get my own blanket out as the soft furnishings are disgusting, dirty, stained, buttons missing, table also very poor condition. I would say it's 2star accommodation believing themselves to be 5! Towels tiny I would suggest you take your own. Not one hook to hang coats, and ours got very wet with walking! No drying rail or towel rails in bathrooms. Two showers, two bathrooms, you can only use 1 shower at a time. Honestly I would give Number 37 a miss. Recently decorated and my what a mess!!

Handy for my Dad's Birthday in the Manor
Instructions on utilities in the property were missing. The Tele and Internet did not work as the box to the wall was broken and taped up. The property was very nice and clean and we were there for only 1 night so this issue did not affect our stay.
