Catherine was a lovely host. We easily picked up the keys. Communication was excellent and the email explanation of the location was really helpful because the cottage entrance track is secluded. We loved the cottage for its quiet location and closeness to the stony beach at the back of Stredagh Beach. The rooms were lovely and clean and the beds really comfortable. The weather was truly awful with heavy rain and wind but the cottage was cosy. We had everything we needed to cook with lots of plates and utensils. The cottage is as described with no WIFI or TV. This was not an issue to us and it gave me an opportunity to escape my work emails. Mobile phone coverage has really improved with two new telecom masts in Cliffoney so a mobile hotspot was available to give basic internet connectivity, if needed. The cottage is in a great location and we enjoyed swimming in the rain at Mullaghmore and Stredagh Beach, which are both close by. We watched "Normal People" on the laptop and tried to forget lockdown, when I longed to walk the beach. Scenes were filmed nearby on Stredagh Beach. Two nights, I watched an Otter swimming in the lagoon which I never observed before in this area. Overall we had a lovely stay in a traditional cottage and we would love to stay again.
Nothing really. Happy with the cottage facilities as described in the adverb.

A beautiful setting for a family holiday in a quiet and private location with lovely countryside views from every window. Handy shops within a short driving distance selling local produce. Great swim locations nearby, even at the end of October! Would highly recommend.
It can be a bit wet and wild when the weather is bad, but the little stove makes it cosy and a great place to retreat to with a good book and cup of coffee. Or take time away from phones and wifi to chat. A great holiday altogether!

Great location. Loved every minute of it. Down at the beach at the end of the lane was beautiful in evenings when tide was out. Close to everything would definitely go back
No sofa for comfort and no t.v or washing machine. Knew that before we went so was no problem just brought a tv dvd player kept kids entertained in morning and night before bed

Loved the location - peace and quiet and being so near the sea
Hard to get a phone signal which also has it’s advantages to help define and relax.

Marsh Cottage was just the perfect holiday get away for us. Close to everything you’d need beach, shops and all the attractions Sligo has to offer. Some might not like the fact there’s no phone reception or internet but it was lovely to not be looking at your phone every 2 seconds and the kids didn’t miss tv at all. The best family holiday we could’ve asked for. Will definitely be staying again next year

Good shower, comfortable beds, great stove and fireplace, dishwasher, lovely selection of books and paintings in the cottage
Loved the fire pit, views and the meadow
Spiders, no sofa, no washing machine, poor phone signal, no composting of food waste

Marsh Cottage is a lovely, old world cottage accessed via a long private driveway with a beautiful wild garden. It has everything you need for a relaxing stay including a barbecue for sunny days and a stove which is very cosy on a rainy evening! It's larger than you think with the twin bedrooms at the back of the house and the large main bedroom to the front.

We were a group of 6 and had a very pleasant stay here. The cottage is well equipped (dishwasher, new oven, lots of dishes and utensils), clean and ideally located. Obviously the cottage is a bit older, but well maintained. Every bed has an electric blanket as it can be a bit fresh. The bathroom has a power shower and is very clean througout. The cottage is surrounded by meadowland and smaller farms, far away from the road noise. Idyllic!
The only thing that isn't ideal is the dampness in the two smaller bedrooms. But to be clear: all rooms are super clean and well maintained. Just for people with e.g. asthma it could be an issue. Also the beds in there are a bit small for taller adults (the size of the main bed room is perfect though).

Wonderful location, so quiet and dark at night. Very comfortable, lots of space and great facilities. Lovely rustic decor. Big kitchen for cooking and stove for cosy relaxation on a winter night.
Main oven difficult to use as the timer kept interrupting efforts to put it on manual and there were no instructions. A washing machine would be a great addition. Guests should be aware that there's no TV or WiFi or phone signal, which we loved as it was good to get away from everything, but some may not like.

This is a lovely cottage in a great location. A 2 minute drive to a Supervalue, a local garage and a local take away. There is a small pebble beach about a 10 minute walk from the cottage and Streedagh beach is about a 10 minute drive away. The cottage is very secluded and private and looks a lot more spacious than the photos suggest. There is a large green area in front of the house; not suitable for anything (very long grass) but there were three pathways cut into it and perfect for my three young children to explore and play. There's no Tv or Wifi and very little phone signal which I thought was great for a really relaxing getaway.
There were 4 chairs sitting beside the fire; it would have been nicer to have a small sofa put into the cottage for better comfort, however this is my only negative.
4.5
Cottage has been made very comfortable while retaining its special character.
Bigger than I expected, ideal for a family of four (both children had their own bedrooms).
Great wood burning stove. Lots of books and maps.
Location fantastic for visiting excellent beaches nearby, and exploring historic places and landscapes further afield.
Quiet, peaceful setting.
No wifi - but actually worked out well as we watched movies on a laptop as a family instead.
No couch / sofa in the sitting area - nice comfy chairs but I like a couch / sofa - not a serious issue.

Beautifull cottage, charming warm and comfotable.
