Dinner was wonderful, breakfast was fabulous, the view is the best we’ve had. The hike up is strenuous but not unexpected, and we could have taken a taxi or the ropeway. We loved the enthusiasm of the staff and the professionalism of the cook.

The view is simply amazing
Everything is already a bit old and the way up takes a bit. Definitely take a taxi or use the lift (stops around 5pm though) if you have large bags. The breakfast is a set menu, it would have been nice to have something vegetarian or just like a simple “coffee and toast” option as well.

The elevated views from some of the rooms and dining room are spectacular.
So much to see , so much town & port activity. The accom is old but very clean so if that works for you , highly recommend. The staff were excellent.
Nothing to say here, all great,

The staff was so friendly. Getting up to the hotel is not so easy, and when they saw haw tired I was, they immediately provided me with a cup of cold water.
The view is also amazing I thing there are only rooms with ocean view so your garenteed one of the best views in onomichi.
To get there it's quite a walk and it's almost impossible with a big suitcase. But the view is worth it.

The view and the staff
Stairs are hard to climb but it's worth the view

friendly staff, amazing views and retro feel.
It is at the top of a steep hill. Do the sensible thing and take a taxi.

The view is stunning and well worth the climb. Take your time and bring a bottle of water if you are not used to stairs. We arrived at sunset and it was magical. The arrival and entrance were great and I was looking forward a great stay.
Old and beat-up furniture and second-grade decoration in rooms.
Lack of internet — the hostess said it was because we were in the mountain and too many folks were using it. But with no obstruction and a direct view of the city, it seemed like a lie.
It's unclear why the reviews are raving about the Thai food restaurant. We were exhausted after a long day biking and a hard climb, and yet, despite a gigantic appetite, it was just tasteless ingredients smothered in goop. And please don't offer a "dessert" when it's fruits from a can.
It's unclear if the cracks visible in the stairway were structural, but I did not feel reassured. The leftover glue from the ripped-off carpet was another red flag.

the view was beautiful, the staff were so friendly and chatty

The hotel is from a bygone age, but that's the great thing about it. The room was basic and comfortable - but the view, the view!
The staff were also really lovely - and the food was great! And all decently affordable.
It's a bit difficult to climb up to - but you've the option to use a taxi or the cable car. The location is also fabulous - and you'll need to climb up there at several points to access various tourist sites up there in any case!

Our stay in Onomichi View Hotel Seize was great! We only stayed for a night but everything was great! The staff are very friendly and helpful! They picked us up and brought us back to the train station! The view from the room is amazing! Nice quiet neighborhood close to sightseeing places! Would definitely come back :)

If you can, get a room with a water view- it's breathtaking! Staff is really nice and attentive. On site restaurant accommodated my vegetarian requests although they normally don't have vegetarian menu.

Enthusiastic staff; very efficient and helpful. dinner was very good too. beautiful view from the room and restaurant. very close to the main temple area.

really friendly helpful staff and flexible too. the view /location is amazing
the restaurant is also amazing
rooms are a little
tired and in need of update style-wise, BUT we’re comfortable and scrupulously clean.

The staff were so lovely! Yui was friendly and helpful all the time, speaking good English, and then at the end of my stay, the owner gave me a ride to the station in the hotel tuk-tuk. I'd thought it was just for decoration, but it's fully functional. The views over the town are great, and it's also good to have a Thai restaurant in the hotel. The green curry was excellent!
Not a problem so much as a warning. If you're walking, the website says to ignore google maps and take a route past the school up the hill, but even so, it's still a tough climb. If you have baggage that you have to hold, I'd take a taxi or use the ropeway.

The location was absolutely gorgeous! Amazing views and the place had tons of cute decorations. We were super impressed by the cool vintage cars out front. The thai food dinner was super delicious and the view of the river at sunset was awesome. The staff were really kind and we loved our stay here!
More sockets in the rooms would be helpful since we were a group of three and had a lot of devices.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great Thai food. Stunning sunrise and sunset views.
If you’re a light sleeper, the walls are a bit thin.

The hotel receptionist was very friendly and my room had a lovely view. The restaurant’s great as well

The staff is extremely helpful. They were even willing to pick us up from Shin-Onomichi station.
The hotel is quite close to the port.
The rooms are not the best. However, they are really good for their price!

It was great! No complaints.
