classic solid building, great location just out from main part of Funchal. Ocean views from dining table and our balcony helped make our visit memorable. Staff made us feel valued, thank you.
Location of elevators, access from off dining area. Having said that, didn’t spoil any pat of our visit

The size was small but the staff were great 👍
The choice of drinks at the bar

The hotel is smart and modern, the rooms spacious and very clean. The view from the room was stunning facing the sea and parts of Funchal. The staff are incredibly helpful, especially the reception staff who went above and beyond to try to make our stay as comfortable as possible. There are shops and restaurants walking distance from the hotel and Funchal old town is short bus trip away.
The bed mattress was on the firm side and even with a topper gave us back pain. The pillows were flat and of poor quality, this gave me neck pain, using 2-3 pillows really didn't work either. After a five 5 night stay we were quite exhausted from bad sleep. The breakfast buffet was the same every day which is fine for a short stay, but for a 5 night stay grew tedious and uninspiring.

Location is perfect, lots of good restaurants in the neighbourhood, but also very quiet area compared to Funchal city centre. Staff is very friendly, outlook from the breakfast and dining terrace is exceptional. Rooms are facing the ocean. Beds are huge and comfortable. Flexible service (breakfast box is available if you leave earlier than breakfast time).
Pool area closes too early.

Location and peaceful ambience
Breakfast appear to have gone down hill over the past couple of years. Didn't have buffet evening meal on last two occasions as variety seems lacking compared to previous. It's a shame as view eating outside is almost the best in funchal.

View, balcony, bath, robe, bed, location, transfer, reception were helpful
Breakfast was OK, lots of options, meat options ie sausages, bacon, not our cup of tea but loads of other options. Our room located under the terrace where food is served, the noise when moving chairs was very loud in our room. Small swimming pool outside. Only given one card, usually given two.

Large room with balcony and great seaview. Very good breakfast buffet in a bautiful setting.
Location: too far from city center and restaurants.
Hotel restaurant: buffet, food had no taste.

Catarina the receptionist is a total credit to the hotel, helpful, friendly and a great sense se of humour
Really Big room could do with 2 chairs, to sit and have a drink or watch telly on.

This hotel is in the most perfect location with amazing sea views and also coastal views back towards the Lido area. We loved just sitting in the top floor roof garden/terrace with a drink, or two! The view from the pool terrace is lovely also. The whole hotel felt calm, clean and tranquil - and our room was fabulous. They also gave us an upgrade as it was my husband's birthday.
The card in the room stating that if you wanted more tea/coffee/sugar sachets they would charge E0.40 each. Just doesn't fit with the style and tone of the rest of the experience - especially when they are freely available at breakfast so you just need to put a few in your handbag! It's not that we needed them, it's just the impression it gives, which contradicts the otherwise 'luxury' experience.

It was a convenient location close to shops, restaurants and a taxi rank. We stayed in a nice room with loverly view of the sea, and the communal pool area was very pleasant. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was live piano music on two of the evenings we were there. The buffet dinners were good however we did prefer eating at local restaurants.
There wasn’t anything negative about the hotel other than possibly the limited parking (6 bays)

Our 3rd stay here. The breakfast was very good, and though the hotel is an uphill walk and some distance from the town centre it is on a good bus route. One disappointment was being promised a last check-out and then being denied this at the last moment - staff shouldn't make promises they can't keep. But generally the staff were very good and helpful. Great balcony and super sea views.
The hotel decor is starting to look a little "tired" and toiletries supplied are minimal (soap and shampoo only), dressing gowns, no slippers, shower caps, toothpaste, etc. Tea & coffer supplied in the room is limited which is a cut-back from previous years. They used to put out lovely large bouquets of flowers but that's all stopped, and the hotel now has a pretty "basic" feel. One disappointment was being promised a last check-out and then being denied this at the last moment - staff shouldn't make promisies they can't keep. But generally the staff were very good and helpful.

The hotel is in a perfect location, you have some local shops in the area, a shopping mall, rent a car facility, an excursion office and easy access into the city center with a bus stop outside the hotel.
The hotel also provide a courtesy car which takes you into the city center which you have to book and your way back and the meeting point is always the same.
It was our birthday over the weekend and the hotel staff provided us with a lovely cake which was such a nice touch. (Thanks again) They also upgraded us and we have room 301 which a very lovely and spacious room.
All the staff are very friendly and accommodating, you have the option of having dinner and lunch in the hotel and the breakfast was great. We had 2 dinners in the hotel and it was very nice.
The view from our hotel room was lovely and there is just exceptional views from all around the hotel, we expected it to be rainy weather but it was beautiful and sunny for all of our 5 days.
We would definitely stay here again and want to thank the staff for being so great
Breakfast was disappointing on our last day, it was perfect every other day.
It was abit cold, the butter was rock, should probably take it out the fridge 30 mins before the breakfast service starts, eggs were watery that day and hash browns were very dry.
Just wanted you guys to know as everything else had been consistently great
