Excellent place to stay

Great place to stay in Victoria Falls. The staff were very helpful and accomodating, the room was spacious and clean and the lookout tower and pool on site were added bonuses. It was also not too far from the falls entrance or any of the activities we did so pick up was convenient and quick. We were actually thinking about walking to the falls but it was so hot (100F+) that it was not feasible but for us if it was cooler we would have just walked. Breakfast was included with the stay and was very good. We expected a buffet style but we were actually able to order off a menu and a small buffet table of fruit, pastries, and yogurt was also available. We also had dinner one night which was good and decently priced for the area. The staff were also helpful in arranging airport transfers and also offered to book tours which we ended up booking a Chobe day tour through them which was great. Overall highly recommend this location when staying in Victoria Falls.

There were some power outage issues during our stay on our last night. The lights worked fine but all of our power outlets went in and out for a few hours. However maintenance did promptly begin looking into the issue and it was resolved by the time we woke up the next morning.

Vibrant visit with a view in Vic Falls

Convenient location with the suburbs of Vic Falls. Nice view from the lookout tower - perfect for sunrise or sunset viewing. Overall, comfy and well run. We had a blast!

If staying a bit longer: not much packing/drawer space for clothes.

A friendly, quirky resort with excellent staff but missing on a few measures.

Loved the lookout tower. A great feature and way to meet other guests. Relaxed informal atmisphere with attentive friendly staff.

Room adjoining staff accommodation so noisy with 6am starting work. Breakfast lacking in choices.

A really nice resort-like place

This hotel was great value, and we were allowed to enjoy all the facilities of the Shongwe Oasis, next door hotel, as well. Respecting the location being a national park, they follow some of sustainable and renewable energy practices, reducing waste and und using solar energy. Whoever designed this place was very thoughtful. You call tell that they paid attention to details. Spacious rooms, big bathroom with extra sink space, and both a tub and a shower. You don't struggle to find a place for all your daily routine products and kits. Dedicated workspace is decently sized too. The power outlet had the smart world traveller adapter. We loved the designs, especially the use of patterns and mosaic. Great colors too. The hotel restaurant was pretty good. During our 6 night stay, we didn't feel the need to find food elsewhere because the hotel food was that good (and we just wanted to relax and stop planning too). Breakfast was included. Lunch and dinner are fairly priced. The staff was extra friendly and helpful. What you see in photos is very accurate. You can enjoy the view of the Milky Way from the lookout tower at night. Would definitely book again if the road takes me back to Zimbabwe

Very minor details like use of canned beans in basically ketchup sauce in some dishes. Slightly too sweet cocktails.

Absolut fantastisch

Es war ein unglaublich schöner Aufenthalt. Der Pool, die vielen Pflanzen überall, die grosszügigen Zimmer mit A/C, der Lookout Tower inkl. Drink-Lift waren fantastisch. Die Drinks sind super lecker.

Es wäre toll, wenn es für das Abendessen mehr vegetarische Optionen geben würde.

Clean, large rooms

The staff was very accommodating and the room was large and clean. The breakfast was included in the price and was very good. I had a massage at the sister hotel next door and it was nice.

It was a bit farther from town than I realised.

Great choice for staying at Vic Falls.

The rooms were very spacious, the food and staff excellent. A good and affordable stay at the Falls. The rooms and all other facilities were super-clean and there is a really nice spa right next door.

There were some hick-ups with the bill and the activities that we had booked on our own, which were resolved but it took quite long at check out. The guests leaving after us had the same issue.

Absolutely incredible! You need to stay here if visiting Victoria Falls!

Where do I even start with our experience with Shongwe Lookout? Genuinely one of the best places we have stayed in terms of cleanliness, facilities, food and friendliness of staff. The team could not do more to help. Within minutes of messaging about transfers and excursions the day before arrival, Brad had already arranged these for us with such promptness and helpful suggestions. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed and the staff are all so warm and couldn’t do more for you. The food is just INCREDIBLE. The room was so beautifully decorated, well equipped and extremely clean. Thank you, Shongwe lookout team!

Overpriced and overhyped

Pool, staff, food.

Over priced. €450 for two nights and the hotel practically empty way too expensive.

Excellent hotel. Great and delicious breakfast and food. I am so impressed how clean is maintained.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff were real nice and great hospitality!

The check out time was too early @ 10:00am.

Geweldig en relaxed

Het hotel is prachtig rustig gelegen maar is toch overal dichtbij. Hey restaurant serveert echt geweldig eten voor een goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding. Het personeel is echt super vriendelijk en er hangt een heerlijk ontspannen sfeer in het hotel.

Het enige kleine kritiekpuntje is het aantal bedden aan het zwembad het zijn er maar weinig en ze zijn snel bezet.

Excellent séjour

La disponibilité et la gentillesse du personnel. Toujours aux petits soins. La grande chambre toujours bien propre, literie confortable. Cadre intimiste et cosi, pas comme dans les grands hôtels impersonnels.

Sehr empfehlenswert.

Kleines feines Buffet und a la carte zum Frühstück, Mittagessen und Abendessen auch möglich und gut. Sehr gepflegte schöne Anlage, komfortable große Zimmer, sehr, sehr nettes Personal.

Wunderschönes Hotel in Victoriafalls Tolle Zimmer, wunderschöne Anlage , tolles freundliches Personal und ein hervorragendes Essen. Vielleicht das beste Restaurant auf unserer 4 wöchigen Reise durch Namibia, Botswana und Zimbabwe.

Trip to victoria waterfalls

Staff were excellent and very friendly. Food was good. Wide variety of items in the Breakfast. Atmosphere is good. The place is so quiet. Front desk staff was so good in arranging all the activities and transport.

Accommodation is not value for money. Couldn't have good shower, due to the splashing of the water.

Couldn’t ask for more!! Perfect!!

I just love this hotel and i’m already working out how i can visit again! Our receptionist was phenomenal and we couldn’t have asked anyone better to look after us for the week. The cleaning staff/laundry gentlemen was perfect. He was so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much bother. The hotel organised any taxis i needed and we had austin look after us for the last three days. He was amazing. We loved austin!! The hairdryer was good, the hot water was spot on in the shower, we wanted for nothing. The lookout tower was perfect. We made it up for one sunset and one sunrise and it was nice to just chill with a glass of wine. Don’t forget u can use the intercom so no need to go up and downstairs for drinks. The food menu was good. Quite americanised but all yummy. Breakfast was yummy. Even if not on a menu, ask they might be able to accommodate. Recommend 100%

Paradise in Victoria Falls

From the moment i walked on site i was amazed at its beauty! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are stunning. The hotel has all the amenities i needed like hot water, hair dryer, front desk helping to book activities. They have a beautiful fire you can have dinner by. The menu is fantastic. I could come here and just stay here without needing to leave. I love it.

Fabulous- would stay again

Lovely and clean, staff very welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was great - filling and delicious. Lots of options for charging and using electrical items in the room.

Excellent and relaxing.

Superb service from the staff and a very cozy atmosphere. This was a nice escape from the larger hotels and we did not feel like we were missing on anything.

A great stay! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

The room was better than the photos! Large and very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub too which was a plus given it was winter. There is also a spa onsite which we used and would recommend. Staff were fantastic and the restaurant had good quality food at reasonable prices.

The room floors are bare and it can get cold, hotel slippers would be nice to have. Sometimes the hot tub wasn’t warm enough either. It is also worth nothing we found taxis that did a $5 journey one way to town whereas the taxi driver recommended by the hotel, Stanley, charged double for what is a short journey. At full capacity, privacy can be an issue around the pool area.

Fantastic stay!

Beautiful rooms and the lookout tower has spectacular views over the horison. Complimentary coffee station with delicious coffee. We had dinner at the restaurant and the meals was delicious and beautifully presented. We ate at a couple of restaurants in Victoria falls but the food at Shongwe Lookout was the best!

Amazing

The property was very clean , not too far from town and the staff very friendly and helpful . Breakfast was very good with a good selection of choices for hot breakfast . We also had dinner and the food was great . We had some drinks on top of the out look deck just as the sun set and that was amazing. Really loved our stay here .
